Peace and Quiet [OPEN]
Mewtwo had been searching for somewhere less busy, and he found it in the form of the city. It was more open and somewhat cooler, but the most important thing was that there were fewer people. There were some, true, but it wasn't as much of a big rush of strange beings as there was in the main living area.
He could think here.
Probably his biggest concern was checking that his powers were still working properly. There was something... off. He had to figure out what it was.
The catlike creature could be found on a grassy hill, floating with eyes closed just above its crest. His legs and arms were folded up almost in a fetal position, his tail swishing slowly back and forth behind him. As he meditated, he was focusing on the grass below. If someone stopped to watch, they might notice he was slowly flattening out all of the blades of grass on the hill a handful at a time from the center down.
It was something to do while he thought, and it was a test for his precision to see how badly it had been damaged.

Deciding it was prime time to talk to him, he stepped forward and raised a hand politely. "Hi."
no subject
< What do you want, human? > he asked, mental voice poking at Ben a little more sharply than was probably polite.

And some of them, just enough to potentially be dangerous, were psychics. Mewtwo denied it to himself, but it was true that this thought gave him pause.
He opened his eyes to peer suspiciously at Ben.
< I am Mewtwo, > he replied. < I do not accept charity. >

"Besides, you look like you're one of those stoic solitary types who need someone to counterbalance it with a little weirdness. Am I getting close?"
no subject
< There is nothing wrong > he said firmly, < with solitude. I will owe no debts to anyone and I will need no help from any human. >

But he felt this as he was walking through the city. It was focused, and powerful, and honestly is peaked his curiosity. So he followed it, and stopped a bit of a distance away from Mewtwo when he spotted him to silently watch what he was doing.
And even though Gaignun or Albedo or anybody from home wasn't there on Stacy with him, years of practice in telepathic control meant Jr.'s mental barriers were more second nature than anything, so up at that moment.

He reached out mentally and tapped at it, just to see if it would get a response. Or perhaps this person would go away. Mewtwo didn't especially care.

But Jr. was used to telepathic speech with Gaignun. And though he didn't mind hearing people this way, he himself opted to speak out loud.
"Uh, hey!" he called out to the Pokemon. "Sorry about that. Was just passing by."
no subject
< You are psychically aware, > said Mewtwo, his voice blooming across the psychic link now that Jr.'s mind was open to listen. He'd opened up for a stranger, how curious. Mewtwo would have used more caution than that himself.
< You are interesting. Who are you? >
no subject
"I'm Jr.," he introduced himself after that, taking a couple of steps toward Mewtwo. "Gaignun Jr. You're pretty interesting, too! Cool-looking, anyway."

[Kitty! Look sevy it's a kitty!] - The sweet voice was displaced as first, considering that Splicer was walking alone. Soon you can tell that the voice is actually coming from a small doll that's riding on his shoulder. It's of a little girl with blue hair, pale skin and blazing blue eyes.
He turns to look at Mewtwo and frowns. "That's not a kitty Lil..." But he can definitely detect psionics.
no subject
< It is impolite to stare. >
It's only after he says it that he realizes that it's not just an ill-tempered remark, but he doesn't much like being gawked at.
no subject
"She's interested, she can't help it. You look cat-like and she likes cats."
[I'm sorry kitty, I won't look no more.] -Oddly enough the doll turned slightly on his shoulder, not facing that direction anymore.
no subject
< What is she? >
no subject
"Mewtwo huh? I take it you're new to this place too?"

Of course, a large, cat-like creature floating over the hill was not exactly what he'd been expecting, either.
Tim paused in his patrol not far away, sticking close to the shadows still, but watching for a moment. He could tell it was doing something-- but he didn't want to interrupt either.

There was a... well, something alive at the edge of his sensory range. Probably human. Probably. He continued to press grass, expecting them to leave. When they did not, he paused.
< I can see you, > he said, voice touching Tim's mind not unlike Stacy's did. The clone's eyes remained shut, though there was perhaps some tension in his face as he divided himself between holding the grass and speech.
no subject
"Sorry," Tim said curtly, but he didn't really move-- it was interesting. He could sort of see that it was acting delicately, and asked outright, "Training?"

His explorations were thorough, when he did find these little pockets of peace; Jara clambered up trees and swung through their branches, wandered down trails and climbed hills, sniffed out water and splashed along creeks and ponds to check if they were good to drink from and wash in. It was pleasant work, almost thoughtless once he had settled into the rhythm enough, and Jara's mind was by no means attuned to anything psychic in nature; Mewtwo could probably easily feel the simple, unshielded mind as he meandered into the vicinity.
He spotted the strange hovering silhouette as he climbed; it didn't quite look like anything that he'd seen before. A long, thick, unbladed tail, the profile of what looked like two backswept horns--was this a female creature? Two horns didn't always seem to count for identifying non-Hork Bajir like that--powerful legs and more delicate arms.... It was quite odd. Jara spent several long seconds watching and trying to figure out what the creature was, before he lengthened his stride to come closer for a better look. If this place was the creature's home, then he should probably apologize and go to look somewhere else if they didn't want to share, or get to know them if they did....
asdfafsa Sorry about the loooong wait for this!
It was strange, certainly. A tall being with scaled hide and a beak. He had wicked-looking blades on his head, his arms, his legs, and his tail. Curious. Mewtwo almost wanted to think he may have been a Pokémon, but he'd yet to encounter a single familiar species here.
< What are you? >
No greeting, skipping the formalities, Mewtwo jumped directly to what he wanted to know.
