The Calm before the Storm [Bendytimed to the morning of April first, Closed to Billy]
Ronnae had taken great care to save everything she needed for this one special day. She had been working diligently on improving one of her gadgets and making sure she had enough supplies left to make a pleasant home cooked meal just for this day. Early that morning she left Billy's side soundlessly. She wrapped her sleeping robe loosely around her and tucked Billy in as she left. Walking downstairs she mused about how he would react, would he be excited? Happy? Surprised for sure! But... What if he doesn't like surprises!? She stopped, bringing a finger to her mouth and biting it nervously.
After a few moments she took a deep breath and calmed herself, if anything, she'd apologize if he doesn't like it.
She went over, happily sounding out the words that activated the runes in the kitchen and began to work. Setting up the right mixtures for the small cake, double chocolate with preserved strawberries, and setting it to cook. She then went to prepare a special breakfast, blueberry preserve pancakes, crispy bacon, with a couple of cheeseburger sliders. She didn't really think he'd mind a heavier meal in the morning. She was used to eating heavy at the break of dawn herself, then again she sort of needed it. having everything cooking slowly, she set of to make a nice refreshing honey mint tea, humming to herself happily as she did so.
When it was all done, she turned everything off and set up the tray she'd be bringing upstairs. The food was covered, the tea pot secure, and the gift... The gift! She almost forgot. She made her way to her personal workshop, opening her safe and pulling out a wrapped box, she smiled proudly at it and picked it up, now balancing the tray, the tea pot and the gift all at once. She made her way to her room and closed the door gently behind her.
Placing the tray, pot and gift on the night stand, she sat next to her sleeping boyfriend and brushed his face lovingly. "Billy? Sweetheart ~ " her voice sweet as she nudged him gently.

A familiar voice and touch soon broke the dreamy fog over his mind, pulling his eyes open. There was Ronnie, but why was she hovering over him, And why did the room smell slightly different?
"...morning," he smiled drowsily at her, slowly propping himself up on his elbow. "Nothing's wrong...is it?"

She passed him over his glasses, he could see she was blushing timidly. "I... I made you something..." She motioned him to sit against the back of the bed as she brought the tray over. Once settled, she served the sweet smelling tea first and uncovered the large plate in the middle of the tray. She blushed even more, not really having done anything like this for anyone before, so she was a bit nervous... Ok very nervous...
"H... H-happy birthday B-billy..." she finally said shyly.

"...my birthday? I celebrated it once, a while ago...has it been a year since then already? I suppose this is as good of a day as any, and I definitely don't mind being surprised by you," he added, sitting up and taking a look at what she'd brought.
Breakfast in bed. It was a wonderful gesture, and he loved the scent. "I've never had breakfast in bed before---I've always had to wake up first and eat on the run. You're wonderful," he said sincerely, flashing a kind smile at her, "but are you sure I can have all of this? It's quite a lot."

"There's something else, but you can h-have that after you eat."

Soon enough, he was finished, wiping at his face and resting his hands against his abdomen. "I can't remember feeling this full."
no subject
"I'm glad you enjoyed it..." Yet now she felt this nagging feeling that maybe he wouldn't enjoy the gift.. She looked down nervously.. maybe she should have thought this through... Maybe he didn't like birthdays or presents...
She twiddled her thumbs trying to think of what to do.

But she didn't look happy anymore. Billy frowned and lean forward, gently wrapping his fingers around her wrists. "What's wrong, Ronnie? Did I upset you?"

She stood up, and soon she carried a medium sized box with her. It was wrapped in schematic paper and had a makeshift bow on top. She blushed heavily and looked down embarrassed as she place it at his side.

Billy certainly didn't look like he disliked presents. Touched by her thoughtfulness, he leaned over and kissed her nose for reassurance. "It'll be fine, I promise."
Catching her eye again and smiling, he lifted the box into his lap. "I really like the wrapping," he grinned. That was something he would do, definitely. Soon enough, though, he was working the wrappings off and peeking at the contents inside.

Lights shown over Billy's face in a scanning fashion for a few seconds before another pleased beeping noise was heard from the bombling. You also noticed that the second pair of aquamarine lenses actually belonged to some nicely crafted goggles, much like the ruby lensed ones Ronnie has. The little bombling removed them off her head carefully as she offered them to her new master with eager beeps and whirs.
"I thought maybe... if y-you felt l-lonely and I w-wasn't around... You'd have her..." in an odd sense, it was a bit clear why she used aquamarines... They matched Ronnie's bright teal eyes almost perfectly.
"The goggles I made were more for multiple uses... Like they enhance your speed and your perception, and they allow you to look much farther and take data from the field. They also work as engineering goggles to work at shop..." she felt like a million butterflies were set free in her tummy, making her a bit sick from nerves. But at least now he saw...

"They're fantastic," Billy praised, patting the little bombling when he picked up the goggles. He would find ways to use all of those features, and he couldn't thank her enough, but the little assistant in the box was his favorite. Gently, carefully, he deposited the bombling in his lap.
"She's beautiful, thank you," he insisted, pleased by his new assistant's enthusiasm. "Now she just needs a name..."
Billy extended one of his arms to pull Ronnie close as he thought of a name. Since the bombling was intended to remind him of Ronnie, perhaps an expression of love would provide inspiration. Plodey? No, too awkward. Blitzie? No, too close to his own name. Burst? Maybe, but there was another word for what he felt when he saw those eyes...
...flare. That was it! "Her name is Flare," Billy announced when they broke apart, a silly smile on his face.
no subject
Cuddling up to him she smiled happily at the name, looking up at him. "Flare's a very pretty name. I know she'll love it.~" She patted the new bombling and smiled. "You hear that? You have such a cute name now! I knew you'd love him. Jus' make sure to keep him same, okay?" She giggled happily.
no subject
"Whoa! You're pretty excitable," Billy talked to the bombling too, patting her. "Just like your creator---you put yourself into her, didn't you?" he asked kindly, the last of his words directed at Ronnie.

...at least, until Flare responded to a particularly loud sound of her master's with a chirp. He looked startled, pulling back for a moment.
"How much data can they record?"
no subject
She points at a still sleeping Boomy in his small comfy basket in the corner. "I let Boomy decide when he's full. He downloads it into my personal datapad."
no subject
"So...I just need to establish basic programming and a resting place? That doesn't sound too bad." And off Flare went to explore some more, looking curiously at the other sleeping bombling. When they were both awake, there might just be trouble.
Turning away from Flare's antics, he gently lifted his hands to cradle Ronnie's face, brushing back her hair. "You've given me a wonderful start to my birthday," he whispered just for her. "I'll be sure to watch out for yours, beautiful."

She turned her attention back to Billy, blushing at his words. "You d-deserve it and more... I'm jus' happy that I was able to make you smile on this day, it always brings joy to my heart when y-you do."
"Y-you don' need to worry none... It's not for a while." She admitted timidly.
no subject
Billy answered her other query with a laugh. "Well...if we're both smiling, then something's gone right," he insisted, leaning forward and pressing their smiles against each other. Happy kisses were the best ones, he thought, curling an arm and a leg around her.

She curled up against him, she wouldn't mind if they could just skip work altogether and sleep in... but she knew it was a busy day.
"You think they'd mind if we skipped work today~" She mused in a teasing tone.
no subject
Billy switched up the positions of his hands, moving to her hip and mid-back, rubbing in each spot.
"I can't skip altogether, but...perhaps a few hours' late start would be acceptable. I could have Flare process the data from our last tests, and at least some work would get done?"
Flare chirped at the sound of her name, bouncing back over to her master. She liked this plan.
no subject
"I think that's acceptable, after all it's a heavy day anyways~" She pulled the covers over them, slowly moving on top of him and placing a soft gentle kiss over his heart before leaning up and untying the loose knot of her house robe, a timid blush on her face. If they had limited time... She'd make it count in the best way possible.
no subject
"Yeah, and we'll need the extra time---I have to go slowly today," Billy whispered, pulling her even closer. "Can't over-exert myself too much after a large meal, but that's all the more time to savor it, right?"
When he felt her warmth, he knew it would be all right. He was ready to be her lover again. This morning was beautiful already...
