In Which The Overlord Compromises A Previously-Held Stance
He'd said he hated it. That was still true.
He'd said it'd be nothing like the real thing. That was still true.
He'd said he'd never do it. And that... was where he had to change his mind.
Months stuck as a book (and that one time, a big robot for the party) had taken their toll. He'd ignored it, he'd dealt with it, he'd shrugged it off like it was no big deal. And really, it wasn't. He still had his mana power, and that was really what mattered. Getting everything else back was just a matter of patience and kicking ass.
But damn it, he really freaking missed arms!
So today the sensorium held not a book in the arms of a vapidly cheerful minion, but a tall demon with literal fire for hair and swirling mana around his legs, examining his hands as he slowly flexed them.
"Hmph. Not as good as the original... but, better than I had hoped," he said out loud.

As it was, when she got her first glimpse of what he could do in this form? Her jaw would have dropped if she wasn't too busy trying to figure out how to survive it. She leaped into the air and grabbed her inner energy, green light bursting from her right fist as it formed a large hoop. "Nobel Megacoil!" She hurled it right at the wave of green fire. That shielded a little bit from the force of the attack, but not by a whole lot. Having her Beam Ribbon would help a whole lot, but she was not going to use anything created by the Sensoriums. Just her fists.
She managed to use a fist to smack the side of the blade as Zetta zoomed towards her, but even her impossible reflexes didn't keep it from gashing her shoulder. Yeah, okay, ow. "Not bad!" she grunted.

Despite soaring off into the distance behind her, Zetta dropped from above back to his original spot on the ground. "Nice technique," he said, actually honestly impressed. "You are a bit above most of humanity, aren't you."

It was something she'd have to get used to. Just another aspect of her life that wasn't anything like Earth anymore.
She was only a little fazed by Zetta's apparent teleportation, at least. "Well, they did a lot of stuff to make me a better fighter," she said. "Surgeries and that kind of thing. But honestly? The stuff I do's pretty typical for a Gundam Fighter."

He was blatantly trying to provoke her to bring it on. The blood honestly surprised him, though he knew that with the body being only a sensorium projection, he couldn't really injure her too seriously.

And with that declaration, she launched herself at him, fists quite literally moving in a blur.

Walloped, he skidded backwards, heels digging into the ground before he came to a stop sudden and hard enough that his cape and hair both billowed up behind him like they'd been caught in a gale.
PLAYER TURN.
"You know, I almost feel bad about fighting you with a sword. Tell you what, we'll have a rematch where I stick to fists. They're not my strong point, but there's something about that sort of fighting that's just satisfying."
He grinned, energy gathering around his sword. Abruptly, he threw it over his shoulder. It vanished into the nether -- then, suddenly, four massive copies of it spawned, each roaring down towards Allenby with the wrath of the Overlord behind it.

...Oh. No he didn't.
Allenby jumped up, mind racing furiously as she tried to figure out how to counter this move. Getting hit wasn't an option. "Yyyah!" She managed to grab the hilt of the bottom-most sword and swung wildly in order to deflect the other three. It was a lot heavier than she'd expected and hardly graceful, but as long as it worked, Allenby didn't care.

ENEMY TURN.
Zetta held the sword loosely at his side. The blows Allenby had landed on him hadn't fazed him in the slightest; he still grinned at her, waiting for her next assault.
sorry this is so late DX unexpected schoolwork
"What's the fun of just dodging?" she called from midair. It didn't seem like her pummeling before had done all that much to him. She'd have to out-think his strength somehow.
She landed for only a second, launching herself up and over him like a flea. Taking a deep breath, this time she only whispered Nobel Megacoil as she launched the energy ring at the back of his head.

"Ow." He ran a hand down his face against the sting, then smirked. "What IS that thing anyway?"
no subject
Even if she was a little disappointed that he'd shrugged it off like everything else.

Without warning the Overlord leaped on ahead, sword held high and a manic gleam on his face. "No patented Zetta techniques for you yet, Allenby! I want to enjoy this! Hyaaaa ha ha ha ha ha!"

Smirking, Zetta eschewed the sword to swipe at her with the wicked claws on his left hand.

Back at home, she had trouble finding opponents on her level. This was--pretty different. But she wasn't about to give up. Everyone had a weak spot.
When Zetta took that swipe, Allenby went right for it, grabbing his wrist and yanking as hard as she could. Maybe she could throw his balance and get an advantage that way.
