Super(angry)girl [Open]

Anyone who walked in on Kara Zor-El in the Sensorium would walk in on a pretty, blonde girl dressed in a slight variation of her usual Supergirl look, kicking the proverbial tar out of a shiny, silver punching bag. Though Kara had worked hard on conserving her powers - after all, they only recharged under a yellow sun - she knew that she needed to be prepared in the even that her powers failed her. Which was why she was currently going over things that she learned while staying with the Amazons on Themyscira, from back when she'd first landed on Earth.

At least, that's what she was telling herself.

In truth, if she cared to admit it to herself, was that what had at first been hurt and fear had given way to anger, and short of Kal or Kon, there were not many people on the meatship who could actually spar with Kara without Stacy having to intervene for fear of Kara's opponent's life. Kara let out a grunt as she let out a series of hook kicks. She stepped back then and stretched.

"Drop the illusion," she said, her breath ragged. That she'd managed to break a sweat at all surprised Kara. It also pleased her, though it hadn't done anything for her anger.

Let her come by me one more time, she thought to herself as she reattached her cape and belt to her plantsuit. Then I'll let loose with my anger.

She brushed her hair off of her shoulder and walked out into the corridor. Gotta find something to do, in the meantime.

From around a corner or two, there was a soft laugh as a certain young precog left her and her husband's temporary quarters, turning her head back to the room. "You can just put all those comics in one of the boxes, kiddo. We'll give them to Devlin and Negi later and let them pick out what they want. But leave the big graphic novel be. I want to give that to May, okay? I'm going to go take these boxes to the house."

There was then the sound of a brief confirmation of another voice, before doors slid close, feet started moving, and around a corner near Kara, a flash of white hair showed itself, before continuing to move on, taking no notice whatsoever of the Kryptonian. A body marked by a black tank-top, capri pants, tennis shoes, and a bobbing white ponytail. In her arms were two large boxes, which she carried with relative ease.

There was a tune beneath her breath, as she walked along, heading toward the tubes.

[identity profile] foreseen-future.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Nura went around a corner, always being that far off. She would seem to be there, but then she'd veer to the left, and go around, never once looking back. The white ponytail bobbed as she made another turn. The boxes tilted and shifted in her arms, but still, she carried them. Her steps were firm, with a seeming spring, with her head bobbing lightly to the beat of the tune she hummed.

Then around a particular corner, she stopped her humming, but still the spring in her step remained. At the tubes, she made it over to one, unloaded her boxes, then stepped in - "City, if you will, goodship" - and was whooshed away.

[identity profile] foreseen-future.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
At the bottom, in the City, Nura had been let off, allowed to gather her boxes, before she began to continue toward her destination once more. The air was cool, and her ponytail whipped about she flew high, moving about with swift ease, even with the boxes practically obscuring her view.

[identity profile] foreseen-future.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hello, stranger," Nura said.

She then descended to the ground, within an area surrounded with houses. She shifted the boxes in arms once again and continued walking. Ignoring Kara completely.

[identity profile] foreseen-future.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Nura weaved around Kara, still moving. She started up the street, passing a couple rundown houses, making her way to a certain cluster of homes that had been rebuilt to perfect building standards. She passed by a green mailbox and turned toward a certain house, reached out to shift the lock on the front gate, and then moving past it into the yard.

Again. Ignoring Kara.

[identity profile] foreseen-future.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Nura deposited the boxes at the front door and fished out a key from her pocket. She slid it into the lock and twisted it, unlocking the door. Pocketing the key, she pushed open the door, grabbed up the boxes, and entered. Once inside, she turned around, still not looking at Kara...and then kicking the heel of her foot against the door, shutting it in the Kryptonian's face, then switching on the lock.

Rolling her eyes, she started up the stairs to the next level of the house.

[identity profile] foreseen-future.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
After dropping off the boxes in her and Querl's bedroom, Nura moved back into the hall, in time to hear the knock on the front door. Reaching up, put a hand to her forehead, sighing. Of all the...

Shaking her head, she went down the stairs, to the door, unlocked it, then opened it. She put a hand on her hip and arched a brow. "Can I help you?"

[identity profile] foreseen-future.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Nura glanced back into the house at the other boxes, stacked and placed in certain order. She then looked back at Kara. "Enough that my husband and I will be able to live comfortably. Is there something you want, because I have more important things to do than talk to you."

[identity profile] superminiskirt.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Kara was about to ask how much stuff, exactly, Nura had podpopped with.

Instead, she glared sternly at Nura. "Did you not hear what I said earlier? Before the box thing? Or were you dreaming, then?"

[identity profile] foreseen-future.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Funny. That's what the Legion wondered about you. The naive little skirt that decided she was the only real thing in existence and that everything else was fake. Some Legionnaires debated over giving you the Dream Girl title. You certainly fit in terms of airheadedness." She sighed.

"It wasn't until we used Kryptonite did you finally start to get it."

[identity profile] superminiskirt.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
"You realize, don't you, that what you're saying makes no sense to me? I've never met anyone from the Legion until podpopping here. Whatever your issues are with me - whatever it is that's causing you to act like a total bitch to me for reasons I don't even understand? Get. Over. It. Or get your timeline right. I'm not the girl you think I am."

[identity profile] foreseen-future.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I'm confident that you are the girl you're so afraid of turning out to be. The person who needs to get sprocked, who needs to be worshiped, who needs to be adored just to live. No. My Querl isn't the one you remember. Your Querl - well, he wasn't yours, as he belonged to himself - I suppose liked you. Obviously, since you reacted the way you did..."

Trick the noose around. "Let me guess. Around the time he stopped worshiping you, you turned to Julian, and while he didn't outright adore you...he certainly appreciated you for your talents." She scoffed. "...though you were on your back then."

She reached up and flicked her ponytail over her shoulder. "Truth of the matter is, you're not quite impressive, Kara. You're a dressed-up, powered little doll who just wants to be played with. You're even sleeping with Stacy-ala Ken. Who we both know probably still thinks of the beautiful girl that came before you." She glanced to the side, smirking. "...or maybe all those other girls he's tried to hit on and have sex with." Her eyes went back to Kara, hard and mean.

"I hope that the Querl who was here before. I hope that he found another girl. One who appreciated him. One who didn't demand attention at every corner. One who didn't throw her little fits when he didn't give her what she wanted. I truly do. But you know what makes me know that I am better than you?"

She folded her arms. "You had your chance with Querl. You had it. And you lost it. Not once did he look back. Not once did he think again of that silly little girl with the skirt and the toy cape. Not once did he want to be close to you. He chose another girl. And to her...he gave and she accepted." She didn't say who the girl was. For all she knew, the previous Querl could have moped over Kara for the end of time, but that didn't mean as much. Someone like Kara? You stared and you ooed and you awed, until you realized the glitter was false and that the paint was smeared.

"So you go back to your Ken, Barbie. Go back and wait around for it all to fall down. Me?" She shrugged her shoulders. "I'm going to stay in love with someone who loves me not just for my sexuality. Someone who wouldn't flirt with another girl because his...current one...is not there. I'm also going to care for my children, and teach my daughter to look at you and think..."

She sighed.

"I never want to end up like her."

She then shut the door in Kara's face, locked it, and headed up stairs, exhausted.

[identity profile] superminiskirt.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Kara blinked and stared at the door that had just been closed in her face. She didn't know how to react to that, at all.

What the hell is it with this woman going on a long rant and then leaving? she wondered, tightening her fists. Her eyes glowed red, and beneath her skin, Kara could feel the familiar prickling of crystal. She closed her eyes and counted, in Kryptonese, to ten.

She opened her eyes again. Okay, clearly, breaking the door down and tearing Nura's hair out strand by strand was not the most viable option here, no matter how infuriating the Naltorian was.

But there were other options. Kara just needed to decide on how best to handle that situation.

The Kryptonian turned around and headed away. She'd find a way to deal with that snagriff later.

Miku had been busy; excitement for Nanoha's nuptials and new and interesting duties up to and including yelling at Abby-san for his explosions had kept the little woman on the move. She currently had a stack of data pads in her arms, from combing the archives for interesting dresses. If Rein had enough fabric left, and Nanoha agreed to the designs, then maybe there wouldn't be such a trainwreck bridesmaid dresses after all.

Still, it was such a shame she was having a Western-style wedding. Traditional, in Miku's very biased opinion, was best. Miku turned a corner a little too sharply, and nearly ran face-first into Kara. "I'm so sorry! Oh god, I really have to watch where I'm going and --- Kara-chan?"

[identity profile] ghost-bait.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Miku laughed and hugged Kara awkwardly around an arm full of datapads, "I'm much happier, now that you're around again! When did you return? I didn't hear anyone talk about a recent group of pops."

[identity profile] ghost-bait.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"What a relief. I was released from her clutches a few weeks ago myself. Steve was so angry at that AI." Miku adjusted the pads in her arms, "This and that. I was looking at pretty bridesmaid dresses for my superior. She's marrying her sweetheart." Miku lifted her pinky and crooked it as she explained. "Amongst other things, new recipes and the like. What about you? You look like you could use something very cold to drink, and a nice breeze."

Ah, she missed summer.

[identity profile] ghost-bait.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"Datapads! And, please. I was going to look at the dresses in as close to reality as I could get, so, let's go back to the sensoriums, yes?" Miku handed half of the datapads to Kara and smiled brightly. "Otherwise, there's still as little as ever to eat on the ship, as usual."

[identity profile] ghost-bait.livejournal.com 2011-03-19 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
Miku's face turned pink, "Well... we're still dating, so I guess it went well!" Even if she was a little upset with his reaction to consummating anything with her. They might not have been planning on it for a long, long while, but still.

Anyway, back to the present, "He's very sweet, and kind of... mm... I don't know the word for it, exactly." She knocked on the door of a sensorium, and finding it empty (as Kara had previously left it), stepped inside.

IT'S OKAY, I STILL LOVE YOU.

[identity profile] ghost-bait.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Mmm, not exactly!" Miku laughed. "More like grumpy. It's a cute grumpy, though." Well, maybe only to her. Some people found him a little grating, and sometimes he could be a little overboard with his temper, but she loved him just the same.

"I promise he really isn't as abrasive as he can be on the channel." The sensoriums around them took the usual setting of her former home, though this time, in the sunken living room stood a dummy made of clear Plexiglas, on a lit, white cube. Miku's plantsuit changed into a miniskirt and a dark pink turtleneck with tiny, black seed buttons up the neck. "Kara-chan, I'll really value your opinion!"

[identity profile] azulescarabajo.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey, Kara." Oh, look, it's Jaime. Not in armor this time, though. He gave a wave as he meandered down the corridor, hands in pockets.

"Getting in some quality time in the Sensoriums, huh?"

[identity profile] superminiskirt.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
"I needed a workout," Kara nodded. She started walking next to him. "You know how it is." She smiled warmly at him. "How are you? Still itching for some action?"

[identity profile] azulescarabajo.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
"Adventure, excitement. A Jedi craves not these things. Which is why I'm a superhero and not a Jedi. I mean, yeah, I kind of do want some action but if there was some it'd probably mean bad things happening. Practice, on the other hand, I can always use." Jaime slouches along next to Kara, content to converse.

[identity profile] superminiskirt.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
"I could offer you practice, but I'm not sure how we'll you'd fare against me," she grinned. "I was trained by the Amazons, you know."

[identity profile] azulescarabajo.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
"I was trained by Peacemaker. And an alien bug-robot--" He rolls his eyes at an unheard chastisement.

"Okay. Alien bug artificial intelligence. Sorry Khaji. And I think you'd just end up punching me through walls."

[identity profile] superminiskirt.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
"I'd be nice about it?" Kara said. She'd never heard of the Peacemaker, but she was aware of Beetle's scarab. "If you're up for a training session - whenever - let me know. I promise to be gentle."

[identity profile] azulescarabajo.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
"I'd be down for it. And you can't go too easy on me. I mean, how else am I going to get used to getting my butt kicked?" Jaime grinned.

[identity profile] azulescarabajo.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"Like, me personally? I mean, I've had people who didn't like Blue Beetle and that kind of thing. And there was the Reach. And Guy Gardener, before my mom gave him an earful. Of course he thought that my Scarab was gonna try to take over the world so that's not really no reason--" Jaime cut off his rambling.

"Uh, yeah. Not really. That sounds pretty harsh."
