Home Again [Open to visitors but try not to all flood in]

It had been so long since Cassie had so much as seen an actual bed that it was hard not to close her eyes and fall asleep the moment she lay down in the Medbay. But there was still a lot to do first. For the long-term she was going to need several surgeries to fix the scars down her left side but for now the priority was to get her stabilized. So she was hooked up to an IV drip- oh, she remembered how those felt. And poked and prodded a little bit more before being left on her own.

She could rest now, but there was a lot to catch up on.

And probably a lot to explain.

"Jonas..." Cassie knew whatever she said wasn't going to change anything. But she still felt like she had to. "I am so sorry." Really, she should have told him to stop brushing her hair and look at her but it was easier for her not to look in his eyes. Just imagining the pain that would be in them was more than enough. "I should have thought about what would happen to you if it went off."

"[It was not your fault,]" Jonas answered, focusing with pinpoint precision on the snarl he was working on. "[And I would not ask that of you. You saved lives doing what you did. You are an Avenger, even if we were not at war with the Ohm, your life would be at risk.]" He paused. "[Not that I want you to get reckless, of course. But I understood the risks when I fell in love with you, and I would not ask you to change yourself like that.]"

"I know but... I didn't really think about what could happen when I volunteered. I mean, I don't think I would have changed my mind but... It just never really hits you till it actually happens." She looked down at her hands. "There was so much I left unresolved. I'm not going to let that happen again."
