Talking to Kang was not something Marco really wanted to be doing right now. And yet here he was, flying around over the Drunken Dragon.

Excusing himself, he made his way into the storeroom of the adjacent building, pausing at the door to let whatever the kid happened to be in.
He was not looking forward to this.

He didn't bother to demorph quickly. Kang could damn well wait however long it took him to get down.
A few minutes later, he was human and walking down the stairs into the storeroom. Leaning against the wall, he crossed his arms and glared at Kang.

Cassie might generally be right when it comes to judging people, but if he hadn't seen the proof himself Marco never would have believed it.
"I have no idea how she did that, actually. All we know is that pretty soon after, she and her family moved to another country. The Yeerks were pretty focused on America, so they didn't have the resources to follow up on her then."

He scratched at his chin, "Makes sense, especially with Karen being a child. It was unlikely she'd be taken seriously, so why waste the time on such a low risk?"
