Matters of the Restaurant? [Open]
From awkward to ARGH-worthy. That's a good way to put things into perspective for Sasami's current situation. After the mission, Sasami had returned to her initial set of work - trying to fix up the restaurant. While she wanted everything to be in working order so when she did open it, there wouldn't be much of a problem.
However, things had gotten worse before it got better.
She had decided to make a list of what was inside the dual freezers and found herself dragging and hauling out a lot of it. Outside the store and a bit inside were boxes and boxes of what was labeled as meats and other foods, but had actually been other things - random scraps of metal, guns, everything but food. By her guess, the restaurant was probably someone's front for some sort of rebel group.
At the moment, Sasami stopped to relax and warm up. Tapping in a brief message on her omnicomm for some suggestions, Sasami sat on a box and began to ponder her situation.

At the moment, Sasami stopped to relax and warm up. Tapping in a brief message on her omnicomm for some suggestions, Sasami sat on a box and began to ponder her situation.

"Hello," she asked the person with the striking hair. "Are you Sasami?"

She knew she was gonna catch a cold, but she wanted to make sure everything was in place before she did anything. "There's a few things that are still good, but a lot of this stuff...?"
She opened up a few of the boxes. Random metals in one, guns in another...
"...I don't think we can eat them."
no subject
"No, I don't think so - although you never know when someone who does eat metals might show up." She took up one of the boxes and examined it; the guns had been packed solidly in some sort of chemical grease, so they should be all right. "I suppose you should just put these aside, maybe talk to someone who could get them shifted over to someplace safe. And make sure there isn't any ammunition or explosives."
She smiled at Sasami. "I heard that you were planning on offering the occasional cooked meal. Would you be interested in a helping hand, or I could help you set up an inventory database for what supplies you do have? I was looking into renting some freezer space, you see, and that's the most convenient way I think of to pay rent."
no subject
"I wouldn't mind the help at all...!" Sasami said. "I know there are going to be a lot of people once I get everything set up, so I'd need all the help I can get! Though, I have to ask - why do you need freezer space?"

She pulled her omnicomm out from a pocket in her shirt. "Let's see, the inventory software from Engineering could be adapted for a restaurant. I'm terribly fond of consistent software, it means that once you learn it in one department, you can go to any other department and figure out what's going on."
Then she put the omnicomm back. "Would you like me to inspect these boxes here for anything that might need to be moved away right now? I served with the Vizsnunishne Mercenaries, I should be able to pick out the ammo."
no subject
She looked at the omnicomm and what she had offered before grinning sheepishly. "That... might be a good idea." She pulled out her own omnicomm from her kimono, showing the cluttered mess of notes Sasami made. "For both things, actually. Frankly, I'd like to get rid of some of this stuff before it goes off or something..."
no subject
"Works for me!" Anwei smiled just a bit too wide, then quickly relaxed her grin. "I'm more worried about the chemicals decaying over time and rotting the boxes, so someone picks them up and they break open. Would you like me to clean up those notes, while I go through these boxes? Don't worry, I am very good at multi-tasking."

For that matter, what she knew about cooking was mostly supervising twenty other people while they cooked. Maybe she could find something to barter for cooking lessons. For the moment, though, she started transcribing the notes into order with one hand and eye, while scanning the boxes for suspiciously discolored surfaces or the smell of chemicals.

"Ok, I have some foods I got from that funky planet. I tried to get, like, a fair amount of greens and meats and stuff, and I asked the best way to prepare them. I got some weird suggestions, but I've already worked out the best way to cook 'em up. I figured that you might not have food just here, so...whatever."
She wasn't in costume: in fact, she was in the outfit Sasami had picked out.
no subject
"Oh... Mindy, you... you really didn't have to...!" Sasami said, actually a bit touched by her actions.
no subject
"Now let's see about getting your kitchen stuff to work."
no subject
"Sorry... I just... think it's nice you're helping me like this." Sasami said. "But, yeah, let's see what we can do."
no subject
"Yeah well, its all right. Its your pet project, yeah? What else can I do?"
no subject
"Hey Sasami, ready to help out in any way I can. I also figured I could take some of these of your hands and take them down to engineering. We could use spare parts."
She grinned playfully. "I brought some food back from the planet in hopes to get nice non-slop meals. You're free to use them here." She gave her a playful thumbs up.
no subject
"Oh, thanks a lot...! I hope it'll do the trick, though. With so many here, it might not be enough."
no subject
"I'm sure we can work something out. Maybe have only weekly to bi-weekly real meals? That should cut down on the food usage a lot and still give the crew the satisfaction of a warm home made meal."

She lifted her hoodie over her head, leaving her in a plain black shirt with a pink heart in the middle. "Alright looks like there's work to be done regardless! So point me in the right direction Sasami!" She gave her a playful thumbs up.
no subject
"Excuse me," he tentatively said, getting more confident with each word, "My name is Albert Hillsborough. I am looking for the person in charge."
no subject
She grinned sheepishly at that.
"Is there something I can help you with?"
no subject
"I have had previous experience in the restaurant business and I believe I may be of some assistance. If you would not mind, may I take part in this endeavor?"
no subject
"I would really like that...!" Sasami said, nodding. "It's such a big undertaking and I need all the help I can get!"

She looked back in thought as she kept thinking. "We do have some food and a few other helpers had brought some food from the recent mission. We do have some pots and pans, but beyond that, I don't think there's much else."
She grinned sheepishly as she continued. "Then again, a lot of that stuff was a bit too high for me to check."
no subject
Albert pondered, from experience he knew that fridges and freezers were important to maintain the quality of the food. "Do we have anything to store the perishables?"
He continued, knowing that he wasn't too tall himself, "Can we get a hold of ladders?"
no subject
"Is this the stuff you're looking to get rid of?"
no subject

no subject
"Beyond these, not really. A lot of them, I didn't really recognize, so I'm not sure if there's anything important in there."
no subject
no subject
"No, no I haven't...!" Sasami said, worried. "Oh, no... it would be best if we did!"
It was then that Sasami realized his earlier question. "Oh, the boxes...! The ones I have out here are the ones I've shuffled through already. I think there may be a few more back in the freezer that I couldn't get to...!"
