Splish Splash, I was taking a bath (Bendy timed to just after the weddings)

Not everybody wanted to go to the consummation huts straight off the bat. Which meant if they wanted to get cleaned up, they needed another spot to do so in.

Luckily, the city had just such a place: the great public baths. They were rather immense. And open, since the Moai didn't have much in the way of nudity taboos. There were private stalls around the edges, though, for those who weren't quite so open. Or just wanted to do a little 'private' bathing (wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more). It's traditional for the baths to take a while. After all, pretty much everybody here has just gotten married! Enjoy!

(Oh. And your clothes are going to disappear. Nothing personal, the Rapa Nui just want to make sure you have something clean and dry to change into when you've bathed. Isn't that nice?)

Mai wasn't all that shook up about public baths, but it was still a bit awkward. She kept herself submerged to her chin, eying the rest of the group. At least this part of the trip was going to be relaxing. Unless someone decided to bother her. That'd be beyond irritating.

Ah, of course the baths would be public. Much like his own work back in the City, actually, but he knew he'd definitely installed more privacy features on-board. When you were just married and lacked a nudity taboo, he supposed this structure was sufficient, but it definitely wasn't his preference.

Billy tried to settle in a corner near the crew members, focusing his attention on bending his arm backward as far as it would possibly go. If he tried hard enough, surely he could wash his own back, right?

Public baths weren't taboo to Hoshi. They had them in Japan and she used them with her teammates, so she was pretty chill with them. That, and they were also on the ship. Awesome.

She sank as much as she could in the water, Seraphiel coming to join her as he was perched on a rock. She knew her pouch with her beyblade inside, as well as her launcher and the Gaia Memories were all safe with her clothes.

"Mm... feels like the hot springs back home," she idly commented, a smile on her face.

Ronnae knew about public baths. Her siblings had tried getting her to join plenty of times. It just wasn't her thing however, she'd usually stay far far away from them.

However, she was unsure if denying the hospitality of the elders was something that might ruin the mission. She wrapped a towel as best she could around herself and got into the bath. She decided to be far from the group, but close enough in case she needed to hurry to them, after all, public bath meant the locals would also be joining the group in their bathing.

Seraphiel appeared in the corner of Billy's vision after a while, signaling that Hoshi was nearby. He glanced toward a blond head poking out of the water and hesitated. Would she be all right if he talked to her? She had a cool and carefree attitude during their past conversations, but this could be...different.

"Hoshi?"

By now, Hoshi was stroking Seraphiel's beak, even getting a few playful nips on her finger that didn't bother her. She blinked when she heard her name called and looked around in the direction of it.

"Yeah? What's up?"

Billy turned toward her once he was sure that everything was safely hidden. "I just wanted a conversation," he added, lowering his voice. "To prevent myself from becoming a topic of discussion to the locals."

It wasn't that he wasn't curious, this was just a bad time in his opinion. "How was the wedding?"

"Oh, then come on over here, Billy. I don't mind talking to you," Hoshi said, her smile helping with her words. She, too, had her voice down so that the locals didn't overhear their conversation.

"It was magical," she commented, a grin on her face. "Yours?"

Of COURSE the public bath was, well, public. Sam just wasn't going to catch a break today, was he?

He sighed, stripping off and getting in the water as quickly as he could. At least if he kept his back against the wall, it wouldn't be so bad? At least, that was what he kept telling himself.

Billy shuffled over, desire for comforting familiarity overriding any awkwardness he felt.

"It was thrilling," Billy decided after a moment, smiling lightly at the memory. "I'd never seen a wedding ceremony quite like it on Earth. It seemed designed to really show that the souls were united. It's unfortunate that most of ours were for convenience."

His wasn't---not entirely---but he wondered how she felt.

Hoshi kicked her legs a little bit to keep them from falling asleep, all the while supporting herself on the edge of the bath with her elbows. She was still covered, though.

She listened to him and smiled fondly, picturing it just right in her head. "Well... I definitely felt something more than just, 'okay, we gotta do this to get to the next step' sort of stuff, if you know what I mean."

Getting married was hard enough. Wait not hard, god... bad! Bad enough. But he had to bathe in public? He didn't have to do that since high school and it was just no, filled with wrongness and badness. But that paint got everywhere, including a little splotch on his eyepatch so even that had to come off. He can just hide in the corner somewhere and hope nobody freaks out.

Karis let the warm water soak into her. Probably literally in a few places. As it was, she was enjoying the feeling of being surrounded by warm water - this was one of the very few pleasures she still had in the world and she intended to enjoy it. Even if it meant certain other people had to see naked zombies.

The look in Billy's eyes was just a little too familiar for him to deny the truth. "So did I," he admitted shyly, recalling the kiss in vivid detail. "It brought a lot of things out into the open."

He stretched his legs out, eyes on the water for a moment. "The question, then, is where to go from here."

Hoshi chuckled, nodding with a small grin on her face. "Well, that should be fairly easy."

She placed her finger near her heart, smiling. "You just gotta follow your heart and go with your instincts. After all, they don't call it a gut instinct just because of a pretty title, right?"

"I've never been especially skilled at that," Billy sighed, scrubbing at a spot on his shoulder. "I like to follow logical rules whenever possible, and there's nothing routine about this."

He closed his eyes in thought. "Would simple honesty work?"

"I see," Hoshi said, deciding to wash her own back. Only problem with this was her arm. She managed to get it somewhat clean, the paint washing into the water all at the same time.

"I'd think simple honesty would work. You wouldn't want to hurt the feelings of the person that likes you, after all."

"No, I wouldn't." Billy trailed off then, his gaze shifting over the bath area and finding Ronnie. There she was, peaceful and beautiful and...no, he shouldn't look any longer, but her humming was an incredibly sweet sound.

He turned back to Hoshi's back curiously. "Do you need anything?"

The water rippled as Phillip stepped into the bath, stretching out as he sank into the water after scrubbing up. Back home, he, Shotarou and Akiko only had enough space for a small sink and toilet so they had to use the bathhouse all the time.

And it wasn't like the other place that he could clean up was like this, so with gratitude he sank into the water.

Hoshi's own eyes gazed to what Billy was looking at. She hid a grin behind her usual smile and continued to attempt to wash her back.

"Ah, it's okay." She wasn't aware that her scars were showing, either.

Well, there's one person that's not freaking out. Well, not freaking out about the lack of eyepatch, at least.

Sam scoots over next to Xander, hands in his lap. Yeah, difficult enough being married to a guy without being NAKED next to him. "I think this has probably beat any previous record for weirdness in my life."

To be honest, the water was enough to make her fall asleep just a bit. But, Hoshi managed to spot Phillip and a smile spread out on her lips.

"Hey, Phillip!" she called, waving her hand while swimming her way over to him.

Billy blinked and searched around---he didn't linger on her scars any more than he would want her to focus on his. Still, the arm-bending looked rather painful.

"Are you sure? I've tried to bend my arm that far. It's just an unfortunate limitation of the human anatomy."

Xander shouldn't be staring. He really shouldn't but Sam looked like well that, and he personally would never be that buff. He tried. The protein shakes just made him bloated and gassy for a week. One of the compounds in it it turned out. Anyway, he knew he wouldn't win any contests there. He was also trying to cover up with his hands in his lap as well.

"Oh I'd say this ties with the time I had to wear a speedo for my high school swim team. I was undercover at the time, important mission. Guys who turned into things from the Black Lagoon."

Hoshi chuckled, knowing far too well for that. But, if he was willing...

"Mind washing my back, then?"
