Lost Things [Open, Bendytimed To Post-Darksoul Plot]
It had been a few days since Kanaya had found herself possessed, and the incident still haunted her. Her sleeping arrangements had left her frayed at the seams anyway (which, as she was desperately trying to make herself believe, was why the whole unpleasantness had happened at all), and that unwanted presence in her mind had shaken her, let alone what had happened afterward. The violence wasn't so much the issue as the thing's absolute clarity -- its desire for hurt, and the thirst for revenge it had given her.
There were far too many things to do, but one of them stood out above all else: retrieve her lipstick. She'd thrown it away when she first felt the invasive presence (for all the good it had done her!), and in the resulting chaos, she'd lost track of it entirely. It was perhaps the least important of her needful errands, but it would be a comfort to her to have it back... so there she was, back where this latest nightmare had begun.
Kanaya slowly began to retrace her tracks, trying to remember just where and in which direction she'd thrown it. She stopped abruptly when it clicked for her, the jagged alien skyline suddenly terribly familiar. Here. Here is where the power had found her; now she just had to figure out where she'd thrown the lipstick.
A glance revealed the hopelessness of the endeavor; to her left were ruins grown thick with underbrush, and to her right, the path sloped gradually down towards a riverbank. (Could it have gone in the river? Please, please, let it not have ended up in the river.) There was nothing to do but try, though. Kanaya knelt down, starting to scan the underbrush for any hints of white.
It had to be here somewhere, after all. It had to be.

Yeah, that was a slightly too loud voice coming from very close by. Asuka didn't usually make it a habit of just wandering around the city, but she wasn't flying and she didn't feel like socializing up top or using the Sensoriums. Or even the media library. So it came down to checking out the city again. She'd actually been sort of surprised to spot another girl who looked around her own age - well and she was a complete and total alien, but she'd gotten used to those by now. She stuck her hands in her flight jacket's pockets, still eying Kanaya.
Man, grey skin was weird.

"Er -- something I lost here, several days ago. A tube of lipstick, to be precise. Am I bothering you...?"
It was worth asking, wasn't it? She still wasn't good at gauging just when humans were angry at her.

She wasn't irritated in the least, really. Just curious.

It wasn't the complete story, but it was true enough. What were the chances any human on the ship had jade-green lipstick, after all? (Given the array of humans here, Kanaya thought, it was likely better than she'd first assumed, but the point remained.)

Ah, girl talk.

Which was understating the case, frankly. How do you explain to a new acquaintance about your lipstick turning into a chainsaw, let alone throwing said lipstick-chainsaw away when you were possessed by evil? Even by troll standards, that would be a hard story to accept.

She rolled her eyes. "Don't expect any help from me - you got yourself into this."

Sorry about the delay.
Re: Sorry about the delay.
Maybe she had to actually try to make conversation. She stood up, turning her attention to Asuka. "Ah, I have been rude. What brings you here? Business of your own?"

"Lose something?" She was in her human guise, choosing younger Alessa this time.
no subject
"Yes," she replied. "A small possession of mine, that's all."
no subject
"What is it? I can help you find it."
no subject
"A white lipstick tube," she replied. "It should be visible enough, I should hope, although I have yet to see it. It... it could be anywhere in this vicinity, I am afraid."

"If you'll give me a moment," she said, and turned into her demon form, floating several feet in the air to spy said item. A few moments later, she returned with the item in hand.
"Easy enough. How did you lose it?"
OOC
Re: OOC
She was completely fine with not being trusted: anyone who did was likely a great fool, and she was definitely not going to waste her time with those. AS for lipstick, it seemed like a trivial item, but easy enough to locate.

Re: OOC
Helplessly, she watched as the demon ascended -- and yes, that face was familiar, wasn't it? She'd known, somehow, but this confirmed it. This girl... well, she wouldn't take this much farther. As soon as she had the lipstick.
Speaking of the lipstick, Alessa would be able to catch a glimpse of something across the road, in the brush near the riverbank: a flash of white enamel or plastic, deeply out of place.
Re: OOC
She could already sense the fear on her, the need to leave as soon as she could. It was boring, of course, highly predictable, but their meeting had been during rather tepid circumstances.
And spotting said item, she descended down toward Kanaya. "I might have found something. Care to join me up here a moment?"
Re: OOC
Re: OOC
Oh man this tag took a week I'm really sorry
It was a thing Kanaya knew, a feeling she was very used to, but as usual, the cautions of her mind did little to sway her heart. This girl was going to hurt her -- but for a troll, anticipation of betrayal was a familiar emotion, and she was reasonably convinced that Alessa wasn't going to hurt her right now. Besides, next time she'd be armed.
"Very well," she said, accepting Alessa's offered hand. "Do what you will."
Totally ok!
"You can ease up," she said, moving the troll girl about. "I don't have any wish to hurt you. If I had, I would have just attacked you."
