Blue Sunny Day

Matt had refused to go near the City, or near the others for a while. He had a lot to think about.

So with his guitar slung over his shoulder, he had gone to the furthest reaches of the beach area, using an ability he kept under wraps. Shouldn't be people from a few miles at least, unless they had followed him doggedly.

Unslinging his guitar, he settled on a rock and started to play.

Early light that burns my eyes,
A minute more the sun will rise
And paint the bright blue sky with yellow gold
I’ll be dead asleep by then,
Shut up in this box again
Until it’s gone
Outside I can hear it
Birds are singing, bees are buzzing, sun shines overhead
I’d be there to see it but I can’t get out of bed
Since the day you left the weather always feels this way
One more blue sunny day

With a heavy sigh, he continued to play in the midst of the wonderful lakeside view he found.

"I'm not sure. Aang was pretty broken up when he found out." Thanks, Zuko. You're so good at this kind of thing.

"Dunno what he's gonna do."

Sokka stared at Matt like he'd grown another head.

"Aang isn't that kind of person. He doesn't fight unless he absolutely has to, and he's the last person I'd see picking a fight with you. Or anyone." He scowled, a bit annoyed by Matt's implication that Aang of all people would start trouble.

"He's like a brother to me. And I'm not happy with you guys for the pain you're causing him. Most of all because Katara hasn't really been acting like herself since we got here and I keep thinking that maybe there's something I could have done to help or something."

"I wish I could tell you something that would help. But usually it was here taking care of me, not the other way around." Sokka shrugged, feeling suddenly helpless.

"Support her. None of us," and by that he meant the Gaang, of course, "are angry at her. We're just confused. She's still my sister, you know? And I'd give her a shoulder to lean on if she felt like she could talk to me about it, but I don't think she does anymore. We've just. . ." he sighs.

"We've had too many disagreements and arguments since we got here. Counting one about you two."

"You don't owe me an apology. Maybe you owe Aang one, but I dunno. He wants her to be happy. But he also loves her. A lot. Like, really, truly deeply love of his life kind of thing. I'm not sure how this is going to effect him." Sokka grimaced.

"I dunno. It's all kinda complicated." Sokka sighed.

"It's probably not going to end well."
