[OPEN] Getting Back Into the Groove [R for cussing most likely]
Where has Dean been, do you ask?
Well, for one, he's been relaxing. That mission thing? Ridiculous. Dean's pretty sure he's not going to be emotionally traumatized, because hell, obviously he's been through worse, but man, that was one hell of a trip. So he's in the mindset of believing that yes, he deserves some downtime. That's why he's in the Sensoriums, his favorite usual hang out on the giant meatship. The room's turned into Bobby's junkyard again, only this time he's got his Impala. He's working on fixing the problems he'd told Stacy to program into the car, and really, this is probably the most relaxing thing he's done in a while.
Of course, he wouldn't mind having some company. He's thinking about seeing if Stacy can conjure him up a Bobby, just to have someone to banter with, but he hasn't really decided yet. So at the moment, he's under the hood of the Impala, messing with something with a wrench while Led Zeppelin's You Shook Me plays from a boombox nearby. He may or may not be singing along as he works.
Life is good.

Funny, for someone who comes from a world called The Junkyard he doesn't actually recognize one when he walks into it.
The former AI was drawn to the sound of music, and it made him grin. He'd only ever heard one song before, and it sounded nothing like that.

"Hey. You like Zeppelin?" Dean asks from his seat on the blue vinyl seat his brother had occupied earlier, grinning.
no subject
It sounds very different from just listening to Sera's gentle singing. Very, very different, but music and rhythm are part of his soul whether he realizes it yet or not.
"What's Zeppelin?" He asks finally, blinking unnaturally blue eyes over at Dean.
no subject
Which is a shame, really, because Dean can't imagine an existence without music. A lot of the time, it's what keeps him sane.
"Zeppelin's what's playing. Led Zeppelin. They're a band."
no subject
He smiles and sort of half sways with the song, bobbing his head with the slow rhythm. Unfortunately, Cielo comes from a world without music, without comfort, and where true laughter is a rare thing. "What's a band? Dat like a tribe?"
no subject
But Dean does half grin at the swaying, because that's exactly the sort of reaction one should have in response to this kind of music. Good thing Dean had chosen them first; for someone who'd never listened to music before, Led Zeppelin was obviously a must.
"Sorta. A band's a buncha people, usually four, who play instruments and sing. They make music." Dean explains. "What, you don't have bands where you're from?"
no subject
He gestures expressively with his hands, like it almost takes his entire body to talk. "All everyone evah do is fight 'n kill 'n devour over 'n over 'gain."
Then he grins and silly grin. "Dey should make music instead, ya?"
no subject
And Dean will definitely be agreeing on that point as well. Fighting is all he does, it feels like, but at least there's things to balance it out.
"Definitely. If you ever go back to where you are, sing 'em some of this. You can't go wrong with it. Zeppelin rules."
no subject
The thought of him singing for his tribe was actually rather amusing to him. He could just imagine how everyone would react. Heat would complain and Gale would be unmoved. Sera would listen and Argilla too. Maybe he'd be able to make Serph smile one of those rare little smiles. "I can try dat! Maybe when I find dem, dey gotta be down in de pod place, ya?"
no subject
See, Dean doesn't usually sing for people, they usually just catch him in the act. Sam tends to make fun of him for the songs that Dean sings, but it isn't Dean's fault; he just sings whatever's stuck in his head at that moment. Which is usually something embarrassing.
"Gotta be, yeah. They'll get up here eventually."
no subject
And he says it casually, like it was no big deal, almost like a little kid telling tall tales. "We didn' know what anytin mean yet, we were all gettin real hugry and Gale lost control and tried t'eat me. But den Sera start t'sing and he calmed down. Her song makes d'hunger stop hurtin. She's really nice."
Cielo crinkles his nose then shakes his head. "I don' wanna leave dem down dere! 'Specially Sera, we gotta protect her!"
no subject
"Jesus," Dean remarks, scratching the back of his neck. "Sounds like you guys got it as bad as we do. You still have that mark?"
Dean can understand that urge to protect people though, and he lifts a hand as he speaks. "Hey, hey, calm down. They're safe down there, don't you worry. Whenever she gets up here, she'll be glad you're around, I'd bet."
no subject
Cielo just pouts, everyone keeps telling him to leave them there but he just can't imagine doing that to them. They're his tribe! His comrades! Like... a family? "Seem like betrayin dem by just leavin dem down dere like dat."
no subject
He nods, though. "I know, trust me. But it doesn't do much good, looking for 'em. There isn't anything you can do to get 'em out of there."
no subject
Cielo just sighs and hangs his head, pouting like a child. "Dat's what everyone says."
no subject
Dean half-grins at him. "Sorry, dude. Trust me, lots of people feel the same way you do."
