In the house we will live in [Closed]
The house that Nura set her heart on was next door to Ben's. It was a sturdy structure, with two floors, two bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, a basement, two bathrooms, and extra rooms that she and Querl could fill with whatever they wanted. She'd already started to hang some of her drawings in hand-made frames on the walls.
It had taken her and Ben many weeks to clear away the rubble and fix up the chipped walls and fill in the numerous dents and cracks in the structure. But it'd been worth it last week when she and Devlin had finally gotten to the paint and brushes. They'd had to keep coming back to finish all the rooms, but they'd accomplished the incredibly large, time-consuming task. As Nura guided Querl from the lifts to the City, to the front yard of the house, she wondered if the paint would be dry by now.
"This way." She pushed aside the front gate, and let them both in. "Careful on the path, I'm putting in cobble-stone." She continued up to the front door, stepping up to the porch, reaching over to the light fixture on the side of the house. "It's not really cobble-stone, but I'm using chunks from the old damaged buildings in the City to play a part."

The thought of living in a home with Nura was... Well, it was rather new. There were moments when he forgot she was alive. She was from a later time than he was, she had told them that. When they had been married. Married, him? The odds of that were something he didn't care to calculate.
ugggh, this post just broke my brain

She chuckled softly. "I believe our first fight as a married couple was over the amount of shoes in our closet. ...or was that over me stealing your clothes that one morning?" She brought her bottom lip over her bottom teeth, feigning thoughtfulness in an act of impish quality.
"Hmmmm."

Yeah, Querl's brain just went there. You'd be surprised how hard being sexually repressed really is. Or not.
"That sounds very tempting." A pause. "Although I would not advise stealing my clothes if I am working."

The couches and chairs and much else had to be made from scratch, however. This was thanks to Ed and Rein, who'd happily given their services in exchange for practically nothing. Nura was still planning on a way to repay them in surprise.
Upstairs, true to Nura's words, there was a bed, in the one room that Nura had decided would fit her expectations size for her and Querl's bedroom. She'd been hiding Querl's new clothes in the spacious closet, and as soon as they entered the room, she'd zipped away from his hands to the closet and quickly retrieved the packaged goods.
Now, seated tailor-style on the bed, she waited for Querl to come out of the bathroom, trying on his uniform. She'd done her best in describing to Rein what she (Nura) had wanted in Querl's uniform. A perfect replica of...
"You wore the same uniform back home, you know?"

Querl was taking his time admiring himself in the mirror.
"It's rather bulky." But the more he looked at it the more he liked it.
Hm, he did look rather good in it, didn't he?

"Are you staring at yourself in the mirror, again?"

It was quite an adjustment for someone used to wearing a skintight uniform.
Querl had been running his hands over the jacket's sides when Nura spoke and when she finished he instinctively jerked his hands away, though she couldn't see him.
"Of course not." He snapped.

"You going to let me see or do I need to come in there?"

"...you'd look better without it."

Although he wasn't sure if he was up for yet another round just yet.
...He had a feeling this was going to be a recurring problem.
