(no subject)

If someone were to walk into the Sensoriums right now, they could expect a drop right into a pool of warm water. If and when they reach the surface, they'll find themselves surrounded by lush, tropical scenery. A waterfall pours gently into the pool, flowering palm trees surround them, a rather large man's painting the scene, fish flutter in the water, and the rocks have just a touch of green moss or something covering them.

...One of these things doesn't fit.

If everyone guessed 'Apollo painting crap', they win a No-Prize. Indeed, everyone's favorite (unless you like women) member of the Authority is staring at the scene, chewing on the end of the paintbrush. Or, rather, he had been before the splash. Now he's just staring at the water, end of the brush still tucked into the corner of his mouth, and the pallet for the paints held in his free hand.

"...Watch the first step?"

The warning comes too late for Kai. Ever since waking up on the meatship, things have been too quiet. It's a hell of a shame, because he'd heard about that possession thing that had caused a lot of trouble, but despite his best efforts, he hadn't been able to find it.

So, he's decided to check out the sensoriums in hopes of finding something to get his adrenaline going and get his mind off his current situation.

Unfortunately...the modifications in Kai's body are made of metal.

Metal sinks.

As he falls into the pool with a gigantic splash, Kai lets out a muffled cry that is half surprised exclamation and half curse. He finds himself sinking and sinking and sinking until he finally hits the bottom. Anyone looking into the pool will not see Kai come up for air.

(His sunglasses, which fell off during the drop, hit the surface of the water a second after him with a quiet, anticlimactic plop.)

He's coughing, but Kai actually seems more all right than you would expect. He is less gasping for air and more staring in shock at the fact that this man is flying.

"What the hell are you doing?! How -- how are you -- !"

(In his world, the closest thing to a superpower was technological modifications. Also, Apollo may notice that Kai is far heavier than he looks.)
