Katzenjammer [Open]
Aside from the comatose state she reached after Cassie finished her post-exorcism first-aid, sleep hasn't come easily to Eva since the possession. What little she's gotten has been interspersed with nightmares, so it's while all the Animorphs are sleeping that she slips out of Cassie's house and finds herself at the Drunken Dragon.
It's all too much. Too much going through her head and too much space alone in there. When she woke up it was because she was thrashing in her sleep and accidentally smacked her head into the bedpost. She found that she was clawing at her scalp while she dreamed.
She needs to feel a little bit out of control again, by her own doing, because that means less control that other people can take away from her. And she needs to dull the knowledge of how many bad memories she dredged up for Marco by going and getting herself possessed.
"Wine. Whatever you have. Keep it coming," she says, then, as if clarification is necessary, "I'm going to get drunk."
(( OOC: Open post but since Eva's going to be bemoaning the state of everything everywhere, please poke me first if you want to throw a character she's never met before at her. ))

He grimaced slightly. "Umm. Well, after the whole Shiva thing? I kind of ended up in the brig for a while." Best explain that, most likely. "Schmuz was technically a prisoner when Shiva broke him out. He'd been sentenced to stasis because of a Yeerk plot to take over the ship. It didn't happen, but there were a lot of ill feelings toward Yeerks afterward." He picked up his water again. "I...just wanted to make sure he was treated fairly, you know? After what happened with Shiva and knowing the history that the crew had with Schmuz, I didn't want to see him killed when he'd actually been helping."

"Anyway. Iniss came to talk to me while I was in the brig. Can't remember exactly what brought him by, other than to check up. And while he was there, I asked if I could talk to Tom." Because while he'd known Iniss for several weeks at that point, he'd never talked to Tom before. "I don't remember how long we talked, but it was a while. And when everything with Rachel went down, he came to me and Dean while Iniss was out of his head. In a lot of ways, it's easier for him to deal with us like that than people who knew him before."

She sighs and picks at her lip, taps her foot against the stool leg. "I can imagine. I'm sure it's difficult when everyone's disappointed you can't just be normal and happy again." She knows from plenty of personal experience, although in her case it was a bit different, since she wasn't there to see how everyone else was changing too. She came back to a veteran son and a husband with actual coping mechanisms.

"I'm sure there's a lot of that with Tom. He's the older brother, he's supposed to be the one who manages, you know?" God knew he'd seen it often enough with Dean. "Once I get some time, I'm going to take him to the Sensoriums and show him the X-Wing I fly. It seemed like something he was really interested in when I mentioned it."
Interested wasn't nearly strong enough a word for Tom's enthusiasm, actually.

"An X-Wing? Isn't that...Star Wars?" Eva's still got a bit of closet geek left.

He went back for the water, because this was actually an easier conversation than Jess. "Turned out to be something straight out of Lovecraft. And I do mean straight out, because the name I heard mentioned later was Nyarlathotep." It really shouldn't roll off his tongue as easily as it did.
