Aside from the comatose state she reached after Cassie finished her post-exorcism first-aid, sleep hasn't come easily to Eva since the possession. What little she's gotten has been interspersed with nightmares, so it's while all the Animorphs are sleeping that she slips out of Cassie's house and finds herself at the Drunken Dragon.

It's all too much. Too much going through her head and too much space alone in there. When she woke up it was because she was thrashing in her sleep and accidentally smacked her head into the bedpost. She found that she was clawing at her scalp while she dreamed.

She needs to feel a little bit out of control again, by her own doing, because that means less control that other people can take away from her. And she needs to dull the knowledge of how many bad memories she dredged up for Marco by going and getting herself possessed.

"Wine. Whatever you have. Keep it coming," she says, then, as if clarification is necessary, "I'm going to get drunk."

(( OOC: Open post but since Eva's going to be bemoaning the state of everything everywhere, please poke me first if you want to throw a character she's never met before at her. ))

Sandy nodded and opted for an old trick she used on her mom when she was drinking, making the conversation about her.

"So um...what's it like where you came from?"

"Where I come from as in where I grew up, or where I lived before Planet Meatball decided I should join the electorate?"

"Both?" Sandy offered adjusting how she was sitting to be more comfortable.

"Well, I grew up in Chile and Mexico. Immigrated to California nearly thirty years ago. Met a nice man who's simultaneously smarter and stupider than I am and spent twenty years in an office answering phone calls and going to parent-teacher conferences. Then, you know, aliens. And now I'm here." She shrugs. "You? Aside from rain? You don't have to tell me everything."

"New York." She said simply enough and after a moment decided that Eva was a nice enough woman. She could expand.

Mom works, comes home. Sleeps, watches T.V and makes me food. I go to school sometimes. Dad's gone. They locked him up for being a freak like me." She thought for a moment to see if there was anything else worth mentioning.

"I like to spraypaint walls." She added feeling kind of smug about her "Bad girl" Habit.

"You mean the stone skin thing? Oh honey, that's not even close to being a freak here. I'm sorry it was back home. Here's that's like saying you have red hair or double-jointed knuckles." Says the woman whose sole superpower is her deep well of stubbornness and spite. She smiles at the graffiti comment. "What do you usually paint on them? And you should visit the art hall sometime, there's a wall that changes images."

"Usually rude words or like...I make fun of the police. They're a bunch of corrupt freedom abusing jerks." She sneered and then lightened again.

"I've never been to California, the adults don't say alot of nice stuff about it though...or really about any state that isn't New York."

"You've had bad experiences with them?"

Eva huffs good-naturedly. "They've just never been. California is wonderful." If you ignore that it was the center of an alien invasion. "Besides, our cities don't turn into iceblocks every January. And you can actually swim in our oceans without getting caught in a riptide or run over by a boat."

Sandy looked like she was having trouble imagining it. "Even if you could swim in our Ocean I wouldn't. It's gross." She remarked. "And it probably doesn't always rain where you lived."

She shakes her head. "Not often. We should go into the Sensoriums someday, I can show you what it's like. You can swim in an ocean that isn't gross."

"Sounds like a plan!." Sandy declared without much more of a thought. After all it's not like she had anymore plans for anything. It was just another thing to try in a long line of "Ways to kill time while there's a war on."
