I'm Queen Of The...wait, that's from a movie! (Open)

Hay Lin hadn't been to the Observation deck in a long while. (Wasn't the last time she was here when people were being unpodded? She couldn't quite recall.)

Much as she would've loved to head back to the Sensoriums, the Guardian felt like she needed a breather from the place just for a brief time. And what better place to be at than at a seemingly deserted area of the ship!

Smiling happily, she stuck out her arms and...appeared to float in midair within seconds! Her way of using her powers while at the same time able to quickly land back on her feet if someone were to creep up on her unawares.

Still...can't shake the fact that something's amiss... the girl thought to herself, closing her eyes and feeling the air around her at the same time.

Sasami was still feeling out of it after the entire incident with the Darksoul and opted to wander around aimlessly. Lost in her own thoughts, Sasami found herself wandering into the Observation Deck and found herself staring wide-eyed at what Hay Lin was doing.

"...H-Hay Lin-neesan?" she uttered.

Hay Lin's eyes widened as she landed on both feet, concentration broken and a look of concern on her face as she whirled around.

"Sasami...!" There was no need for her to ask what she'd seen or hadn't seen. She knew Sasami wasn't that naïve.

Sasami strode up to the older girl and wrapped her arms around her in a need of reassurance.

Hay Lin didn't even have time to bend down, but she did wrap her arms around the younger girl and gently levitated with her secure in both arms.

"What happened...?"

"...s-something possessed me... made me attack a lot of people, I..." Sasami stammered, still shaken up by the experience.

"...Are you okay?!" Hay Lin's hands gently grasped under Sasami's shoulders so she could hoist her up to embrace her tighter. A part of herself immediately placed what happened on her own shoulders.

"I..." Sasami began to say. Physically, she was fine. The damage done to her less by Hit Girl and more by Mei-Xing was healed up. The psychological, however...

"...n-not really... I'm... I'm just scared. Scared it'll happen again."

"...I won't let it!" Hay Lin rocked Sasami back and forth, her mind already screaming that she hadn't been there to prevent this incident from occurring; how could she possibly be around to keep the next one from happening?

"It wasn't your fault, okay? You weren't in control of what happened, and I'm sure the others know that."

"I-I know, but...!" Sasami uttered, shivering as the memories flooded back. She hated it, hated every moment of it. She'd give anything to get rid of those memories...

"Shh, shh...it'll be okay, Sasami-imouto..." Hay Lin gently stroked Sasami's back, realizing that yes - she had missed the event itself, but she could help the young girl recover from this traumatic event.

As Sasami was held by Hay Lin, she did wish that Hay Lin had been there... or maybe Negi. She ran off when Hoshi came into play and ended up attacking Jeka in the process. Could things have been different if either of them were around? Probably, though, hindsight's 20/20.

"I'm here now, mèimei...you'll be okay." Hay Lin continued to hold Sasami close, stroking her back while telling herself not to hold herself accountable for what had taken place. If only her heart was actually listening to what her mind was saying, she might've convinced herself fully instead of halfway.

"I know... I know..." Sasami stammered out. Like Hay Lin, her heart and mind were a bit conflicted - her heart said it wasn't her fault, too, yet her mind kept blaming her for what happened.

"It'll be alright..." Hay Lin whispered while rocking Sasami back and forth, the two still hovering in the air just slightly above the floor.

After awhile, Sasami started to calm down, still holding on to Hay Lin as she did. "...thank you, Hay Lin-neesan."

Nodding, Hay Lin started stroking Sasami's hair. "Anytime, Sasami. You're my...my mèimei, after all and I love you..."

Howard's been wandering around, mostly keeping to the more deserted-looking areas of the ship ever since Doktor von Psycho tried to shoot him with tranquilizers, when a girl catches his eye. He's seen levitation before, once. It wasn't in the middle of anything good, but then again, nothing back on his homeworld was.

"Magic or superpower?" he asks, probing for information as usual.

A sheepish smile appeared on Hay Lin's face as she landed back on the deck before turning around to answer the boy's question.

"Magic, and passed down from a previous generation - even if it skipped my parents!" Basically, she was stating that she'd gotten her abilities via her grandmother and not either of her parents.

"Huh." He looks her up and down. The levitating could be so much more or it could be the extent of her abilities. "What else can you do?"

"Do you reeeeeally wanna know?" Hay Lin asked only seconds before literally turning invisible right before his eyes. "You're too young for a heart attack, but you might still hyperventilate!"

He raises an eyebrow, but doesn't look too surprised. He knew a kid who could do that, but not nearly as well. "That it?"

"Normally I'd be offended, but you're not a bad guy so I'll take it as a sideways compliment!" came the response from somewhere that wasn't Hay Lin's previous position, before gusts of wind flew around him. Not enough to cut him, just enough so that he'd feel it.

Despite the fact that Howard is very very used to weird, he is a little bit uncomfortable with this situation. He doesn't like there being such a power imbalance between him and the person he's talking to. "So I take it you're not a bad guy either?"

"Nope - not at all!" Hay Lin reappeared right in front of him with a broad smile on her face as the gusts of wind quieted down and stopped. "100% genuine good guy, or girl if you wanna go with gender. Nice to meet you; I'm Hay Lin!"

"Howard. Nice to meet you." He extends a handshake. "You been here long?"

Hay Lin responded with accepting said handshake. "About 3-4 months, or it could be more; time kinda blurs onboard a ship like this. You?"

"About a month. I've already fought illusory zombies and been shot at, so at least it's been interesting. You Chinese?"

"Shìde wǒ." came the reply, Hay Lin giggling lightly before adding, "Family's from China but we moved to Heatherfield shortly after I was born-which is in America."

Well, that sounds not all that different from his Earth, pre-FAYZ, if China exists. "Where's Heatherfield? I'm from California, little town called Perdido Beach."

"California." Hay Lin noted, already liking the similarities between her world and her new friend's. "Though I've heard that another one could exist in Italy; didn't get the chance to find out before I ended up here."

"A Heatherfield in Italy? Something sounds a little off about that. Like a Shanghai in Idaho or something." He smiles. "So is magic just a regular thing in your world, or are you just really special?"

Hay Lin laughed lightly at Howard's comment about 'Shanghai in Idaho' before answering. "Definitely a little off. But, it kinda is and kinda isn't - I'm one of five special girls chosen to have magical abilities, and we use them to protect our planet and other worlds. 3 of us are here; the other 2 are still podded."

"I'd say five in the world is pretty unique. No one from my world's shown up yet, though." Which is both a good and bad thing - he misses Orc but he doesn't want to think about nutjobs like Drake showing up. German doctors who try to needle-gun you is quite enough excitement for him. "So what sort of things do you do around here? Besides the floating, obviously."

"Basically hang out with my friends, protect them and the other shipmates if trouble rears it's ugly head. What about you?" Curiosity ebbed from Hay Lin's voice as she stated her question.

"I'm looking for a job at the Med Bay. Helping people and all." And also a much smaller chance of getting shot at. Howard really couldn't care less about helping people. "Seems like the right thing to do."

Will smiled as she made it to the observation deck, and saw Hay Lin hovering in the air. "Getting some practice in, are ya?" she asked. At least Hay Lin was being able to stay a bit composed in this place. Will wasn't sure if it was because the other girl had been here longer or if it was because she was Hay Lin, but either way it was a good thing.

Hay Lin whirled around and grinned excitedly at seeing one of her best friends. "Yep! They're new powers after all, and I figure we should get in some practice time before the really big bads pop up! Wanna join me, Will?"

Will smiled, before blinking and looking over at Hay Lin. "New powers? When did that happen?"

Hay Lin's smile suddenly became a sheepish one as she landed in front of Will; this was probably best discussed face-to-face. "...The other Matt, actually. He managed to figure out a way to enhance our powers to bring them out to their fullest, and since at the time it was me, Irma and the other you around..." She was pretty sure Matt would be able to do the same for Will, too.

Will blinked, looking over at Hay Lin and frowning. "Oh... I see."

"...Come on, Will!" Hay Lin insisted, feeling a frown of her own appear. "He's not the Matt we know, but he can be a friend in time of need - can't he? And from the look of things we're gonna need all the friends we can rely on until we take care of business and get sent back home."

Will sighed. "Yeah, I know. But still, it's weird. Really weird."

"It was weird for me when I had to work with the other you..." Hay Lin admitted, smiling softly at Will. "I never said anything to Irma or Matt, but I wasn't too sure about her myself even if I didn't show it."

Will sighed. "It's alright... it's just... going to take some more time, you know?"

"I know..." Hay Lin nodded while pulling Will into a gentle embrace. "We're here for you if you need us, okay?"

Will smiled. "Yeah, I know. Thanks..."
