DISTRACT Is Super Effective! [Open]
She sneezed and the fishing rod in her hands briefly jumped in her grasp.
Astrid huffed out a grunt, a hand relinquishing hold on the line as she indignantly rubbed under her stubby nose with the back of her finger while her blue eyes dully leered at nothing in particular off-screen.
That sneeze. Someone talking smack about her?
Disregarding this fleeting suspicion, she shrugged it off, merely readjusting her grip on the handle, and settled posterior more comfortably on the moss-covered boulder beneath her.
Within the encompassing towering stone walls of what appears to be a lost oasis, Astrid engaged in fishing on these familiar grounds taken from her memory of a memorable location somewhere on the outskirts of the Viking's home village -- the exact place she stealthily pursued after Hiccup and discovered Toothless subsequently. 'Course, for Hiccup and his dragon, this secret watering hole served as a base where they established their bond as well.
Today, though it just served as a relaxing getaway for one of the female's less than energy draining hobbies. Or so she thought? There's a sudden reflection of a figure on the waters pristine surface and it was impossible not to notice she now has company.
Astrid blinked a moment, then pursed her lips and turned her head to look up sidelong at whoever approached her with a stare clearly of "Hey, don't scare the fish."

"You can't catch monsters in a lake, monsters only live in the ocean!" Protested Tuffnut only to be shoved away by Ruffnut.
"She can't catch anything with your big mouth always flapping!" She protested testily.
"Look who's talking bucktooth!" He shot back shoving his face in hers.
"You have the same teeth!" She growled back, "Except they're crooked and brittle!"
"I could tow a ship with my teeth and some rope!" Boasted her fake brother only to find her staring him down, "Yeah maybe if it was a little toy boat like the kind mom gave you when you were a brat!"
"You're still a brat!"
"Least I'm a smart brat!"
"And you're a rat!"
"Takes one to know one!"
This quickly dissolved into what should have been a painfully unbalanced scuffle since Ruffnut had been training and Tuffnut wasn't real but for every punch and shove he gave as good as he got till he got belted hard and started wailing about being "Badly hurt"

Jokes and lies aside, there was something genuine here. Despite their rivalry and sometimes intense annoyance of one another, Ruffnut deeply missed her brother.
As the noise and their violence escalated, Astrid pinched the bridge of her nose, keeping her calm and refrained from saying Ruff, if you really wanted him to shut up, the lake is deep enough to make him choke on water.
She decided that was too thoughtful of her. "Enjoying yourself, Ruff?"

"Jerk." She sniffed and sat down next to Astrid with a frustrated glare.

Hah, energetic is always putting it lightly when it's Ruff.

Gripping the rod in her hands, she inhaled. "Well..."
Although much of her time in Fairplay is becoming a distant foggy memory, Astrid tried her best to thoroughly explain. Can Ruff actually believe Astrid as a timid, girl-ish thing (In fact, she can almost still taste the flavored lip-gloss), too terrified to lift a fist to help someone in need? And Hiccup with a near shaven head. (H-His lovely, messy hair. Gone...) Oh, and Toothless? Unruly furball. (...Okay, so not much changed, except for the fur bit.)
"...See? A giant pain. Not very 'cool' at all," she finished bitterly, facepalming and running a hand through her hair. "My mind is still exhausted and reeling from the experience..."

Also, "Besides, I'm older. Listen to your elders," she chided with a hint of playfulness, upturning her nose. Hey, you may be frolicking under Zetta now, but don't forget who has the iron fist.
"Hm, you could've sparred someone if you were that restless."
no subject
"Shoulda' thought of that." She smirked amused "Just wandering about and punching people till one of them fights back would be fun."
Except the ship, she forgot about the ship.
