Her Own Way Of Training
The sensoriums was usually the place to go whenever someone wanted to unwind. In the case of one girl, she didn't mind unwinding there at all but for now...she had to improve herself and push her limits as a Coordinator.
Which was why if anyone else were to walk inside, they would hear a lot of cheering as the sensoriums currently looked like the grounds of a Contest battle - 3 animated judges were in the background, one looking suspiciously like a nurse - and two skilled competitors were facing each other on opposing ends.
One of the two competitors was dressed up rather nicely, in a white suit that complimented her quite well. The other? In a dress that seemed to fit her style and almost be considered the other's counterpart. What her opponent said wasn't heard, but she could read her well enough to know the meaning - and she was proven correct as a Cat-like Pokemon appeared on the opposite side of the stadium.
Taking a deep breath, Dawn exhaled before staring down her best friend/rival and smiling confidently with a look in her eyes that said she wasn't giving up or backing down.
"Piplup...SPOTLIGHT!!!"
And with that, the clock started counting down from 5:00...

"Mmm," said Negi, waiting to see how this all ended.

"Pipluuuuup...!" Dawn's determined look didn't falter for a second as her ace/first Pokemon held a mini-whirlpool in his arms that seemed to grow bigger to a point - which caused Dawn's opponent's points to go down due to how pretty the attack looked!
"Pipluuuup!" As Piplup threw said attack, Dawn quickly called out for another Bubblebeam...and the Penguin-type leaped up before launching it directly into the Whirlpool; within seconds, the bubbles seemed to be riding atop the Whirlpool!
Unfazed, Dawn watched her opponent yell out a command and she watched Glameow leap upward as well before firing a Shadow Ball in the midst of the Whirlpool; all the attacks canceled each other out, and both Coordinators lost practically the same amount of points! Dawn's were still somewhat lower, however.

"I dunno," said Negi finally. "Get the feeling I've met her before but eh, don't see where I could have. But in any case, she is really good, and I can feel some strong magic from her. She's unskilled though."
"Rating?" inquired Chamo.
"At this point, I'd say an average mage." remarked Negi. Although what he could be feeling is the touch of Mespirit instead of real magic.

"Hydro Pump!" she cried out at the same time as her opponent called out one last attack. As Piplup launched a Water-type's most powerful attack, Glameow prepared to launch an attack mostly known by Electric-types...Thunderbolt. Both attacks literally passed each other by, and before either Coordinator could call out a quick "Dodge it!" command, both Pokemon took the opposing attacks head-on!
Considering that Piplup was weak regarding Electric attacks, and Glameow didn't approve of Water-based attacks, both would receive quite a bit of damage and both Coordinators would lose quite another fair amount of points.

It was different than what he was used to, but both parties really seemed to like it, and so did the penguin. He could tell in its eyes; it was determined to be the best and if fighting one of his fellow monsters would prove it, then so be it.

"You can do it, Piplup! Don't give up!" Dawn called out, while she noticed her opponent's own determined look and battle cry - though she couldn't hear what was said, she could tell that they both believed in their Pokemon with all their hearts.
The time was barely passing the 2:00 minute mark, and as both Pokemon prepared to charge forward...Piplup suddenly seemed to collapse under his own weight and landed on the stadium floor; Glameow buckled herself and also dropped to the floor at the exact same time.
"...Piplup!" Though she couldn't hear her, Dawn knew her rival was equally concerned for Glameow.

"A draw," added Chamo as he exhaled sharply. "Man that was close."
Checking the board, Negi frowned. "No, not quite a draw."
On the board with the opponents name, there was a sliver of "life" left while Dawn's was empty.
Getting up, he clapped despite himself.

"Better than well," added Chamo. "Spectacular."
He looked over at the Zoey construct. "She's important to you, isn't she? She's a rival... no... maybe more of an inspiration, someone you need to surpass by your own hands..."
no subject
"...She's very important to me..." Dawn replied quietly, silently acknowleding what Negi had stated while noticing Zoey offer her own reassuring smile; even without hearing her, she could tell that Zoey was very pleased with how well Piplup performed and how admirable Dawn had trained him even if the blue-haired Coordinator fell just a bit short.
"Thanks, Zoey...!" Dawn wiped away her tears and flashed a small smile of her own before the stage faded and was replaced by a room the Coordinator would recognize as a Pokemon Center.

"Albert Chamonile, Ermine," added Chamo in a pleasant tone. "Nice to meet you ojouchan."
"I take it this is how your home is like?" asked Negi.
no subject
"I'm Dawn, from Twinleaf Town! Thanks very much for supporting my battle, even though it was only just practice...and, what's an ermine?" Dawn would've wondered if Chamo was a different type of Pokemon but Negi had already confirmed that he was from another world.

"Ne, ne ojouchan, a Fairy Ermine is a magic species of Ermine. We're powerful and strong familiars to our friends!" exclaimed Chamo proudly. "Aniki here and I have been friends for a while now."
