When life gives you lemons, the solution is simple in Billy's world: get to work!
With a restlessness perhaps more intense than his usual construction mode, Billy had located the agreed-upon site of the bathhouse in the City and begun preliminary work over the past few days. The contributions were collected, labor was pitched in, and by now the ground was level and the water was just about ready to flow in as soon as the heating system was installed. Soon enough, walls and fixtures would begin to appear.
On the outside perimeter of the work area were the different design sketches, all kept there on easels for reference and comments. A blank paper was left for anyone to propose additions if they wanted to. Whatever happened, Billy would work day in and day out to finish construction as quickly as possible. He still spent hours in the lab at his original job each day, but every spare moment was spent here, including two that were once for sleeping. Even his slop was grabbed to go and eaten here while he adjusted the blueprints or shaped some gathered wire.
He would need some help gathering and moving the scattered material for the walls, but he was confident that it could be done soon. Some of the crew members were celebrating the winter holidays again, weren't they? This would be his gift to the ship, as it was about the most he could contribute right then.
((ooc: This is pretty much to establish that the bathhouse/onsen construction is underway. Tagging in for the volunteers is totally optional and handwavable, of course, this can just be one big handwave 'this is happening' post. I still need to clear when it'll be done, but I'm hoping by maybe a week/week and a half after podpop. Billy's showing small signs of depression---bags under eyes, lined face, more closed-off than usual---but they can be missed or chalked up to a bad day if you just want a light thread. I'm not sharing angst with anyone unless you want that direction!))

"We're clear. Let's see the temperature we can supply!" He was beginning to think they would need both cells, but first he needed to know how warm one cell's power would be. Lukewarm, maybe?

The illusionary water would slowly begin to change colour from a cool blue slowly to a mild lukewarm red as it spread throughout the system from the generator...some areas near the generator growing a hotter, brighter red and orange though soon cooled to lukewarm as they reached and branched out through the pipes.

"Installing the second cell now!" It took a few moments to work out the logistics, but after about two minutes everything was in place. "It's in, let's see if we need to adjust it. It might be too hot."
no subject
"Ready to commence the second test," She nodded once the cell was all in place, and the test would begin, the water turning a rather hot indeed orange red as it flowed through the system, some area's hotter than others but a great deal of heat was given through the system with the additional power cell. "Hmm, you could adjust the power output of one of the cells to a degree, it should not be too difficult with the construction of them," She tilts her head thoughtfully, "Perhaps the temperature could be taken advantage of, a secondary cold water reservoir could allow the temperatures to be easily adjusted to individual baths or showers should the occupants desire,"

With quick hands, he made the adjustments to the power cells while he crouched there. That should do the trick!

With a nod once he had made the adjustments with the changes in mind, as the simulation ran once more, the temperature drawing a firm red, not too hot, but near perfect for their needs near thruout the bath-house, indicating to one of the nearer baths to test one of the preliminary changes, cold water mixing with the hot water to fill the bath to what could be assumed to be a nice comfortable temperature.

"We've done it. Thanks for all the help, Celena, I really appreciate it. Now we just have to continue construction."
He looked...not happy and still tired, but relieved at having made some progress with her help.

"Indeed, and you are most welcome Billy. I would gladly lend my aid in construction where I can as well, more hands or claws make for quicker work after all," She replied with a soft smile, grateful that she could at least bring him some relief if not happyness.
"I've a recording of the simulations and changes to the designs should you wish it, should you wish my aid, or to merely talk feel free to contact me,"

He would work, yes. He was determined to work, work, and do not much else except work. It was an excellent distraction.

She would be quite stern on that offer of help, she wouldn't let him work himself into the ground if she could help it.
