Alternative Theories [OPEN]
Magic.
Setsuna didn't believe in such a thing. Sure, he had seen some amazing things in his life, a few of which had left him awed, but all of it could be explained away bysaying "GN particles did it" science and rational explanation. But, when it came to what was happening to him, science hadn't been able to come up with an answer, thus far.
Which was why he was in the Jedi Temple, home of the Mystical Department.
Well, that was partially why. He probably should be down in the science lab, undergoing a battery of test to see just what he was changing into, but he didn't much trust this ship or this crew. At the least, he'd wait for Tieria to check the labs out, then perhaps they could get started cracking open the mystery that is "Innovation."
But while the labs were being checked out, he figured he'd at least research an alternate perspective on the matter. The Mystical Department did handle matters of the mental and metaphysical, so he figured they might have something to offer. He was in the Temple Library, looking through a number of books, in the faint hope that one of them might be able to shed a bit of light on his situation.

He didn't understand.

"Seems no one on this ship understands the Ohm."

It was difficult to communicate with those who did show intelligence much like their own, once. But Dhianeila was determined then, and she was determined now.
"I believe that if we keep trying, we may come to understand them one day. It is unfortunate that we must fight, but until we are able to figure something out, we must keep ourselves alive until that time. We just need to keep trying."

'Must keep ourselves alive...'
Those two simple phrases brought a small frown to his lips, but definitely stirred up something painful buried inside of him.
"You say it as if we don't have a choice." His expression suddenly hardened, determined. "There is a choice, and I refuse to live my life like that." Not again.
He didn't come all this way, change so much, just to end up back where he started. Back as that same child, desperately running for his life on the battlefields of Krugis.
Never again.

She looked at Setsuna, curious. "But, it's okay if you don't fight. We will do our best to fight and protect those who do not."

Why they fought mattered too.

"No one seems to have to first clue where we are right now, what worlds to go to, what to do and how to accomplish any of these goals." Not that he's one to ridicule others for dreaming big, he who would attempt to eradicate war through force. But Aeolia at least had a plan, Veda had the intel, Miss Sumeragi had the mission plans, and armed interventions gave meaning to his fighting.
"Further more, no one knows who the Ohm are targeting or why. If you don't understand your opponent, you'll never make peace with them, or defeat them. Only kill them." And any victory will be temporary and any death will be meaningless. At least by his logic.

She thought back to the Tribe of Bronze. When her brothers had taken over military operations, instead of leading their people in the right direction, they only wanted revenge. They knew nothing about the bug-like entities that had only attacked them because they were ordered to, and only lead by a thirst for vengeance, attacked their home planet. It was only after they had begun their attacks did they realize the planet was more or less a nest for their children and non-combatants. Her brothers truly were something else, it was why the people preferred her above them.
"Right now we are all in the dark. Because of that, we may very well make mistakes, because we're humans, and all of us are lost in it. However, so long as we try to learn more, to perhaps better understand the Ohm even despite our own proneness to mistakes along the way ... as long as we keep searching for the light that saves us from that darkness, we must also ensure that we're able to reach that destination. We do not want to survive simply to survive ... although I am sure beings across every universe imaginable prefer to live, no matter what the situation. But we also want to survive in order to evolve, to learn things that seem impossible for us to understand right now, through the interactions across these universes and all they have to offer."

Still, he couldn't help but be reminded of someone else he knew. He had a feeling that, were she here, she'd probably say something similar.
That thought gnawed at him for some reason. Maybe because he knew that, even if her answer wasn't wrong, it wasn't a path that he could take.
"Are you a princess?"

"I ... well, yes. I am, in the universe I am from."

And, yes, that is exactly how he will greet her from here on out.He had been considering the fact that she was so much like the Princess he knew, but his eyes locked on to hers at her question. He thought briefly about how to answer that, finally looking slightly off to the side when he did speak.
"No..." He didn't say anything more, but with the way he trailed off, one might get the sense that was a but hanging off that sentence.

She thought of Aneasha and Iolaous ... the twins, the captain. She had missed them so much since waking up, but she was all the more determined to save them if she could. That's if they were gone ... Dhianeila believed more than anything they were down in those pods, somewhere... They had done everything for her and lent her their power, she had to do her best to repay them for all that they'd helped her.
"I just hope I can do something while I'm here, too."

"You'll find something that suits you."
