Dog vs. Antichrist Round 492 [Bendy timed before plottage, open]

Daimon stood. His arms were folded over his chest. He stared down at his dog. "Sit."

The dog cocked his head to the side and made a chortling noise.

"Sit."

Some confused snuffling.

"Dog, sit."

Some distant noise caught Dog's attention and he ran off, tail whirling like a helicopter.

"DOG!" The Son of Satan sighed. "Stay out of trouble! Do not make me come after you." He would have chased after his dog but there was little use. Dog always came back safe and sound and all to eager to lick Daimon's feet. He was probably having fun with the other dogs Daimon had given away but whose owners had been since been repodded. He would have to work on finding new homes for them. Also on keeping them contained.

All was well for about ten minutes.

Until a white streak of hissing and spitting fur decided to climb Daimon like the Matterhorn. Followed by Dog, who was followed by Nehaalista.

[Stop that!] Nehaalista's "voice" admonished the cat, which was still clinging to Daimon's face for dear life. [Here, let me.] She carefully unhooked the cat's claws from Daimon's face and held the cat up and away from Daimon's Dog.

Daja's walk in the city had been peaceful and uneventful - until she found a very strange creature sniffing her feet. "Hello there," she said politely. She didn't know if this creature was intelligent, but since Daja had already met one very intelligent talking cat and a peculiar sentient blue creature, she reasoned that it didn't hurt to err on the side of caution.

And if it turned out the creature was just a creature...well, there didn't seem to be anyone around to witness her silliness. "I'm Daja. Are you able to understand me?"

"No, perhaps not," Daja said, amused. "But you are a very friendly creature, aren't you? Whatever you are."

Carefully, she reached out a hand to pat the creature's head.

Daja giggled softly - she and her siblings had had a dog of their own, so she was well used to their antics.

When she heard Daimon's voice, she looked up, trying to find the source. "Dog?" she looked down at the creature. "Is that you?"

"No, he was no bother at all," Daja assured the man. "Though I must admit, I have never seen a dog like him."

"I am Daja Kisubo. I am pleased to meet you, Daimon," Daja said, bowing.

"Is Zokez II a 'planet'?" Daja asked, curious.

"I'm sorry to have missed it," Daja said softly. She reached out a hand to Dog. "I think I missed many things while I was away with GLaDOS."

"No, it isn't," Daja said sadly, as she watched Dog lick her hand. She reached up to scratch him behind the ears instead. "But there will be more battles in the future, won't there? Anything else...anything else would be too much to hope for."

Whether it was a joke or not, Daja's mouth twitched into an amused smile. "Life would indeed be bleak if we could not appreciate that," she said, just as solemn - although that amused twitch was still visible.

"Perhaps it's the fact that they are always happy to see you," Daja said with a smile. She leaned down to give Dog's ear another scratch. "My siblings and I had a dog of our own, back in our world. Little Bear, we called him."

"I'm sorry to hear that," Daja said softly. "They are wonderful company. Even if they can sometimes be a lot of trouble. But at least you have Dog now?"
