(no subject)

The few times that Kang had gone to the Sensoriums and imagined up bits of home, he'd been careful to limit the appearances of anyone he was particularly close to. So far, only Granak and Riel had shown up; the only people he'd expressly banned were his mate and hatchlings. He'd felt that it would be too uncomfortable, too... depressing, seeing them. Nothing could compare to the real thing, after all.

He was in a strange mood that day, though, feeling more homesick than usual. So, after a bit of an internal struggle, he'd made his way to the Sensoriums and recreated a sizable portion of Teyr. He knew the doors didn't lock, and he wanted to lessen the chances of anyone showing up. Throwing a glance over his shoulder to make sure no one else was there, he left the busy main road and turned down a side street, taking the back way to his own home. The many draconians going about their daily lives would help obscure things, too.

Even though he'd already made the decision, the bozak still hesitated at the door before taking a deep breath and opening it. Almost immediately, four hatchlings, scales shining a bright, metallic bronze, horns no more than nubs on the sides of their heads, and stubby little wings buzzing excitedly, swarmed towards him. Their mother followed much more calmly, her own scales not much darker, "It's about time you came home."

Kang felt himself relax almost immediately, allowing himself to indulge in the fantasy as his children attached themselves to his legs and tail. It couldn't hurt to do it just for a while, right?

"I can't stay for long. You know that." They spoke in Nerakese, Stacy's systems unable to completely hide the harsh sounds of the actual words in the background of the translation.

Fonrar knelt down and picked up one of the children, wings rustling slightly. "Yes, I do. It's okay."

He couldn't help a glance around, soaking in the familiarity. His home was (obviously) very medieval in design, sizable, and the furniture was well-crafted, made of wood and stone. There was a shelf above a simple brick fireplace built into one wall with a few carved wooden figurines on it; a small bookcase nearby held a handful of leather-bound books and scrolls. The doorway to a side room was open, and a very large bed covered with furs was visible, as well as a smaller one built much like a nest.

He smiled, and carefully moved to the furs in the middle of the main room, sitting down. The remaining three younglings crawled up on him, competing for the much-desired spot on his shoulders; they loved being up high. The fourth squeaked, reaching arms out towards him and struggling in her mother's arms. Shaking her head, Fonrar sat down next to him and let her join her siblings, "Rough day?"

"No more rough than usual," Kang shrugged and grinned, mindful of Brevo on his shoulders. One of the females yanked on his tail, pulling him down, and claimed his spot with a triumphant hiss. Growling, the little male returned the favor, and the pair ended up brawling, only to be pulled apart moments later by their parents. "Yana, Brevo, no."

"I don't think those two will ever manage to get along for more than ten minutes," Fonrar sighed, watching as the other male took the desired spot. Kali made a disappointed sound, but contented herself with staying in Kang's lap. "At least they don't all get into petty fights at the drop of a silver."

Laughing, Kang leaned over and brushed his chin against the top of his mate's snout, "I'm sure it's just a phase. They're only a month old, after all."

A snort. "I bet you said that about Hanra and Shanra, and they still bicker all the damn time as adults. I don't know how Slith can stand it."

"...point. Let's hope it's just a phase, then."

((Open, but ask first. I'll more than likely say yes. :D))

Her arm was finally out of the cast, and Nanoha decided that she'd gone long enough without using the limb - she needed to get back to training. It'd be best if she did it without Fate knowing, too... so she headed to the Sensoriums to do just that.

Only to enter and find herself in the streets of a rather antiquated-looking town. Clearly, someone else was in here already - and judging from the dragon-like folk who wandered the streets, giving this human girl strange glances, she knew who it was. "Ah... I'm sorry if I'm interrupting anything!" She called, wondering where Kang was. Was this his home?

Eva's spent so much time in her own head, watching with no connection to the outside world, that she often forgets when she's eavesdropping. She's watched in on the conversation between Kang and the Sensorium's figments for several minutes before she realizes she should either leave or say something. Her first instinct is to retreat and hope Kang didn't notice her, as this is obviously something of a private moment, but there's something in it that pulls at her memories of letting Edriss keep her calm and entertained with flashbacks to Christmas days and dinnertime conversations from the vault of her mind. And the sight of the children, Draconian as they are, tugs at some longing deep inside her.

"Kang," she says, "is this your family?"

She did happen to pass by a certain house, and her attention couldn't help but be drawn to it - especially once she heard those unusual (or not so unusual?) noises coming from inside of it. Part of her felt a bit voyeuristic for looking in on someone's simulation like this, but those little chirps and squeaks were awfully cute...

...as were the tiny little beings making them. Nanoha's hand came to her mouth as she tried to stifle a gasp - they were so adorable!

...was that Kang?

Oh. Well, she'd. Clearly interrupted the tall, imposing and serious draconian when he'd been in the middle of... playing with his adorable children. Nanoha's expression was rather sheepish. "Ah... I'm terribly sorry if I've interrupted something."

Dean was passing by, and heard some noise near the Sensoriums. He usually only liked them for training and practice. Not for holodeck funtimes since it's not real, what's the point?

He knocked, then opened the door to enter, and glanced around. Damn, it's like stepping into Lord of the Rings land and shit.

Nanoha cautiously entered the house, looking around - realizing just how much shorter she was than the draconians, since everything seemed to be built on a slightly larger scale than she was used to. "Oh no, it's... it's my fault, I should really have left once I saw it was occupied."

A pause. "So this is your home?"

The mage looked down at the hatchlings, smiling at the one who seemed scared and giving her a little wave.

"Kang?" Dean wondered, and hurried over to him.

"Hey man, what's going on?"

[identity profile] vissernone.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm sorry to interrupt." She's a bit surprised that he keeps the Sensorium running despite being interrupted, but goes with it. She looks towards the other adult Draconian and smiles, noting the protective attitude towards the children. "Hello."

[identity profile] notadamnangel.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Well I heard some noise and was just stopping by." He gave a look to the little draconian Kang was holding.

"Uh who's that?"

Toothless tended most often to fly when he was in the Sensoriums. It may not have been real, and he knew that, but it still didn't change the fact that he missed the sensation. He never quite missed it enough to wish he had it again, simply due to the fact that were he able to fly all his lonesome again, he... would be just that. Night Furies had never been attributed to be terribly sociable creatures, so perhaps Toothless was strange, but once he had met the teenage Viking he had found himself more and more intrigued and interested by his presence, until they became such good friends and so inseparable that Toothless decided he really didn't want to consider life without the boy.

The scenery had looked like an uninhabited (by humans, at least) island somewhere off the coast of Berk for a while, before it shifted to a land of unfamiliar structures and unfamiliar smells. Toothless' ear fins perked and he faltered in the air, briefly, eventually descending and flying lower. There were numerous, bipedal winged humanoid creatures-- he recognized them in a distant sort of way for a long while before it dawned on him that they looked a lot like Kang. Curious, the dragon concentrated for a moment, flying lower to the ground still until he had picked out the sole familiar scent amongst the other Draconians. He let his senses guide him, weaving carefully in and out of the homes and scenery until he came upon a pleasant dwelling that was permeated with the scent of the tavern owner.

The Night Fury touched down gracefully enough to where one might think he were still usually entirely capable, slowly moving toward the house. He sat, for a moment, outside and looking at the door. Kang truly was a cross between a Viking and a dragon (and by Viking, Toothless generally meant just a human in general). Eventually, the black reptile moved toward a window and peered in at the scene before him.

A collection of young ones-- very young, from the look of them --and a female, along with Kang. A much more natural smile than the one he often made at Hiccup slid across Toothless' features and he watched, quietly for a few moments. He was still much too young to aim for or even consider a mate or hatchlings himself, but that didn't change the fact that seeing a loving family spread happiness like a contagion.

Nanoha knelt in the spot offered to her, smiling and bowing politely at the two of them. "A pleasure to meet you too, Ms. Fonrar," she said gently. "I'm Nanoha Takamachi - I work with your--" Husband? Mate? "--I work with Kang."

The smile turned that much wider as she turned it on the hatchlings. "It's nice to meet you too! Oh, Kang, they're adorable!"

[identity profile] vissernone.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
"I tend to wander. I'm sure I could have wander into something much more awkward if you gave me long enough." She sits. "A pleasure, Fonrar. And the little ones are?"

The Sensoriums sure were popular. Jr. looked around at the environment curiously when he entered and saw that it was in use already. "Kang...?" he muttered under his breath when he saw one of the Draconians passing by. There was no question about that.

When he spotted the house, however, his eyes lit up and he smiled. "Woah ... awesome!"

[identity profile] carrieswar.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
With all the Draconians walking around, an actual dragon stood out quite a bit. Jr. wondered if he was part of the Sensoriums because of that, and cautiously approached, his voice low and interestedly kind.

"Hey."
