Waking Up [Open]
Shadow, for the most part, had kept to himself in the past few weeks, seemingly unaffected by the rage virus or the incident with Steve. Maybe that was a good thing in his case. However, during this time, he found himself contemplating some things. It seemed that Stacy, being a little more kinder to him, had restored more of his memories.
It was less that he didn't want them and more why didn't he have them before? In either case, he now remembered more of his life - that he was an agent of G.U.N. and his dealings with the "future" scientist Eggman Nega - and he decided to try to figure out more. It didn't work out.
At the moment, Shadow had found himself in the hangar, looking for certain somethings. He found them - G.U.N.'s mecha arsenal. Big Foot and Hot Shot walking tanks, its flying counterpart Flying Dog, the hovering tanks Heavy Dog and Blue Falcon and the incomplete battle mech Diablon. There was probably a whole lot more there, but this was a bit more than enough.
"At least this blasted place kept our gear..." Shadow uttered. "Hmm... I wonder if it would be worth it to restart the program here..."

Alessa, after all, is far too proud to say she was recovering from injury. She'll appear now though, right next to Shadow. She's bloodstained and certainly looked better, but she looks genuinely happy to see Shadow.
"I had thought you were repodded," she said, her voice sounding strangely pleased.

"I'm... sorry, Alessa." Shadow uttered. "Next time... I promise... I won't let anything happen."
Why, yes, Alessa. Big, tough, Shadow regrets the whole thing!

But as if to offer something of an understanding, she added, "It is...somewhat humbling that my safety would be a concern of yours, I'm still unused to that."

Well that was a lie: she usually had to do that.
"What are you up to?"

"Me? Looking for stuff from my world again." Shadow replied. He pointed to the machines behind him. "These are from an organization I'm a part of."

"I see," she said, looking at the aforementioned machines. "What do they do?"

So when he saw a -- something -- eying the mecha with proprietorial interest, the book just sighed and said, "Damn."

Someone had adapted to being a book more than he'd be comfortable with if he thought about it.

"What brings you here? I wouldn't think something like you would want to be in here."

The Overlord frowned, but said of the mecha, "They look pretty badass. So long as they do that and blow up what they're supposed to, what else matters?"
