Waking Up [Open]

Shadow, for the most part, had kept to himself in the past few weeks, seemingly unaffected by the rage virus or the incident with Steve. Maybe that was a good thing in his case. However, during this time, he found himself contemplating some things. It seemed that Stacy, being a little more kinder to him, had restored more of his memories.

It was less that he didn't want them and more why didn't he have them before? In either case, he now remembered more of his life - that he was an agent of G.U.N. and his dealings with the "future" scientist Eggman Nega - and he decided to try to figure out more. It didn't work out.

At the moment, Shadow had found himself in the hangar, looking for certain somethings. He found them - G.U.N.'s mecha arsenal. Big Foot and Hot Shot walking tanks, its flying counterpart Flying Dog, the hovering tanks Heavy Dog and Blue Falcon and the incomplete battle mech Diablon. There was probably a whole lot more there, but this was a bit more than enough.

"At least this blasted place kept our gear..." Shadow uttered. "Hmm... I wonder if it would be worth it to restart the program here..."

Someone who hadn't seen you in a long time doesn't appear all at once, but by now Shadow has been around her presence long enough to know she's here. The air seems to take a bit of a chill with it, and there's something that smells faintly like rust and rot. He'll also feel something a little different here, smell dark blood.

Alessa, after all, is far too proud to say she was recovering from injury. She'll appear now though, right next to Shadow. She's bloodstained and certainly looked better, but she looks genuinely happy to see Shadow.

"I had thought you were repodded," she said, her voice sounding strangely pleased.

"I'm glad to hear it," Alessa said, then looked down at her wounds. "Yes. While training with Overlord Zetta,I came upon an impudent youth who apparently kills demons as an occupation. Needless to say, it was close, and not even the Overlord's healing could take care of everything completely. I'll be fine in several days."

"A boy I don't know," Alessa replied. "It was a crippling fight, but it taught me what I needed. I've been far too lax, not getting the fight that I needed. The hit to my ego was that virus that forced all of the dark feelings out of me, or tried to. I fought it back but...it hurt. More than even these wounds."

She look at him, as of probing him with her expression. "I did not tell you these tings to upset you or to guilt you. They simply happened, and are the sort of things a demon endures. One does not live as long as I have without the knowledge that we will be attempted to be expunged. People are not fond of the things in the dark, of the devils of chaos."

But as if to offer something of an understanding, she added, "It is...somewhat humbling that my safety would be a concern of yours, I'm still unused to that."

Here, Alessa gave him an appraising look. "You can do better than that," and pulled him into a long kiss.

Well that was a lie: she usually had to do that.

"What are you up to?"

This was, for all purposes, how she understood people to exchange feelings of longing. She was still getting the hang of showing that to others.

"I see," she said, looking at the aforementioned machines. "What do they do?"

badassfreakingoverlord: (crap I'm a book)

The Overlord did semi-regular surveys of the hangar, checking to see if anything awesome and unclaimed would show up. He wasn't picky; much as he hoped the ultimate Space Battle Yoshitsuna would show up, he'd settle for a Gear Metal REX or a Drill Tank.

So when he saw a -- something -- eying the mecha with proprietorial interest, the book just sighed and said, "Damn."
badassfreakingoverlord: (still badass as a book)

The book, firmly gripped in its minion's arms as if she were a display case, laughed. "The most badass freakin' book in the cosmos!"

Someone had adapted to being a book more than he'd be comfortable with if he thought about it.

"You're not an average normal human yourself," Zetta said without particular rancor. "Besides, I'm only a book because of the damn Ohm. As for why I'm here? Looking for vehicles. Awesome stuff I can equip my minions with. Though it seems like none of the stuff from my Netherworld showed up here."

"I keep looking. No luck yet. I guess the ship figures that would make it TOO easy on me."

The Overlord frowned, but said of the mecha, "They look pretty badass. So long as they do that and blow up what they're supposed to, what else matters?"

"You're now my favorite person on the ship!" Zetta declared with downright maniacal glee. He took a moment to watch what the Diablon could do, though. Make no mistake, he has every intention of claiming those others, but... there might be a bit of a learning curve. Best not to do it if another of the mechs would be moving, probably more competently, in the immediate vicinity.
