A Friend in Need (Closed)
Hay Lin could tell that despite the confident tone Matt might have had with her earlier, finding out about what had happened really hurt. So, when he invited her to the study for tea she decided that would be the best time to grill him ask him about it.
Besides she thought excitedly while knocking on the door to the study, it's not every day you get to have tea on a bus!
"Knock, knock! Anybody home~?"

Matt had looked like he had seen better days, dressed in a t-shirt and a pair of shorts as he padded on bare feet towards the fireplace that had been replaced with a pair of open windows due to the Bus's magic. There was another couple of chairs in the study, perfect for reading due to the position of the light, and sitting between them, a self-contained tea set was whistling as Matt removed it from the heating pad.
One could tell he hadn't been sleeping well for a while, due to his appearance and general way he shuffled his feet.

"Soooo, what's the what Mr. Sleepyhead?"

"Though admittedly, getting up tonight and discovering Will had been repodded was not the way I had planned," admitted Matt as he put two cubes of sugar into Hay Lin's cup. He knew she liked it sweet. "I've sealed up her room for now, too many memories, but I'll let you and Irma go through her stuff and clean up with me."

"...Just let us know when you'll need us, and we'll be there! Do you know how or why it happened, or just that it did happen?"

"As for finding out what happened, when I checked with Stacy, seems that the whole Avia thing is correct. Will's soul was under serious disconnection problems, which is why GlaDoS kept her for so long." He took another sip. "As far as I can tell she's sincere about it and I have no reason to distrust her on this matter since there's a chance she may be returned to us, or, vice versa, your Will will be released from pod sleep."
"Considering what we've seen, is a disconnected soul really all that improbable? My opinion? Nope. It's happened a few times at least, or close to it back home." said Matt.

Taking a sip of his drink, he set his tea cup down on the saucer and sighed. "I'm glad for what we have," said Matt as he gazed over to a picture that sat there, one of himself and Will, salvaged from his belongings on the ship when he woke up. "And even if she never wakes up again I'll remember her deeply."
"It's not to say that I'm immediately moving on," pointed out Matt hastily. "Just, well... it's always easier moving through these things with friends, y'know?"
