Cruising for a bruising

Big Zero had mostly kept to herself. She was busy plotting certain people's demise and reprogramming. A big part of dropping off the radar was simply for safety reasons. But when she went out she spent time in the Special Weapons Lab working on, well, things that weren't weapons. She wasn't that stupid. If she didn't give them a good reason, they couldn't refuse a member of the crew. Certainly not someone as productive as she was.

So with all the confidence of someone with antisocial/narcissist personality disorder, she strolled into the lab and quickly started work on Egghead mark II. Frankly, it was a lot harder building the damn thing from scratch.

[[OOC: Big Zero post, standard warnings apply. Filthy language, Neo Nazi. Also she will probably be hitting Punishment this post so threads might have to be bendy timed a little (later ones go earlier). My tags will be slow as I have one paper to seriously work on starting tomorrow and I'm running in to pain issues today. Agh sorry for tl;dr]]

"Ah, so you have experience in jumping over trans-dimensional fences. Looks like out of the two of us, you're the one with the most swimming experience." Marco grinned, amused at the ape references. Ironically, Big Zero didn't know just how close to reality she'd hit with that comment. "Of course, how could I forget? We cause all problems everywhere. Like say, the Great Depression...oh wait. That was you guys!"

Eva was looking for Marco, mostly to check in and see if he'd been involved battling whatever creature it was that attacked while she was preoccupied in the library. It gives her more of a chance to explore, too. She finds him in the special weapons lab, conversing with someone who really needs a better hairstyle. He's rolling his eyes, but her son does that a lot.

It's not until she gets closer that she hears the conversation taking place, and really feels the concern - and outright rage - building up. She's used to racism, even welcomes it some days because it gives her a justified reason to lash out at people, but there's no chance she'll ever welcome it directed at her son. Whether or not Marco can hold his own, and she's sure he can, she isn't going to let that slide. She walks briskly up next to Marco and plants herself at his side, arms crossed and back straight.

"Actually, you thought-deprived idiot, the Bank of the United States - an unofficial bank that you white Americans took to be official because you couldn't be bothered to read past the first five words on the plaque - failed in 1930 because the New York Clearing House refused to agree to a mutually beneficial merger because the Clearing House was full of racists and Anti-Semites who didn't want to help a bank that was rumored to be run by Jews. Would you like to guess what happened then? Panic and a carnival of breadlines and hopelessness, due to simple-minded, backwards, self-sabotaging idiocy like yours," she says, not even bothering to hide her slight accent. "Introductory American Economic History, you dolt."

"Shh, Mom. Haven't you forgotten? You can't believe anything that they taught you at UCLA and Berkley. They're all part of 'the Conspiracy'." Marco made mock quotation marks with his fingers in the air, as he said the words 'the Conspiracy.' "Nutters, the lot of them."

Though, he wasn't really happy about having Eva show up. He could deal with idiots directing racist comments at him, but his mom? That was different.

"I'm surprised you think I can afford a television, with your limited world-view. Shouldn't you be telling us to go back to the berry farms? And tell me, did you get brainwashed into your moronic mindset or was your life just so pathetic you were looking for someone to blame?"

She smirks at her son, but she can sense his discomfort at her involvement; she knows him that well. She just won't let his concern for her overrule her desire to interfere with anyone insulting him like that. "Oh, I did forget. The best way to learn about the world is from trashy misspelled pamphlets peddling scapegoats and your resident drop-out tattoo artist. I'm glad you remembered that for me."

Marco moved forward, crossing his arms and keeping himself in-between Big Zero and Eva. "Here's an idea: how about no. But hey, if the sight of us is too much for your poor pathetic little eyes, you can leave."

He didn't know whether this chick could fight or not - but just in case, he got ready to start morphing if he needed to.

She shoots him a concerned look that hopefully goes unnoticed by Big Zero. The last thing she wants is for this thing to go violent, as satisfying as it would be to smack Big Zero in the head with something. Her face is stony by the time she's looking at Big Zero again.

"We didn't steal anything from you, but you did a pretty good job robbing yourself or any dignity or standing you had in this conversation." Her voice is thick with rage. "And if you ever call my son anything again you'll regret it."
livestoannoy: (Bring it on biatch)

"Like I care what you do. But we're not leaving - I came here to check out the tech, but if that's so offensive to you? You can suck it."

As long as Big Zero didn't bother them? He wasn't going to bother her.

"So much for the idea that Stacy selects the best and brightest," she mutters to Marco, still keeping her eye on Big Zero but not intending to stir the flames any more.

Marco hissed, already focusing on morphing gorilla but not waiting until it progressed before moving to punch Big Zero in the face.

The instant the words are out of Big Zero's mouth, Eva grabs Marco's wrist. "Don't!" She hisses. "Don't give her the satisfaction!"

The contorted expression that flies across her red face reveals that either the words or the effect they had on Marco hit a nerve.

Tentacles unraveled from the walls and seized the would-be combatants, tossing them at opposite walls.

||Marco, Big Zero, you have each received one Violation for fighting,|| Stacy said.
livestoannoy: (Haven't you noticed that this is insane?)

[personal profile] livestoannoy 2010-11-13 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Marco hit the wall and tumbled. He cursed, and scrambled to his feet, glaring at Big Zero. He didn't make any further move to attack - there was no point, not with Stacy intervening - and he reversed what little of the morph he'd got through.

[identity profile] vissernone.livejournal.com 2010-11-13 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Cursing under her breath for having misread the situation so badly, Eva rushes to Marco's side. The urge to knock Big Zero's teeth out is instantly negated by the necessity of making sure her kid isn't injured. There will be time for retribution later. "Are you alright?"

She really hoped the situation wouldn't turn to violence, but now that it already had, she wouldn't really mind adding some hurt of her own to Big Zero.

"Mom, I'm fine," Marco said, with the kind of exasperation that could only ever come from teenage sons who thought their mothers were fussing too much.

"Oh, are you wanting a conversation now?" he said, sneering at Big Zero. Inwardly he cursed himself for morphing, but he knew that he'd gotten nowhere near bar enough for Big Zero to be able to actually identify what had really been happening. "Sorry, but even if I felt like explaining to a moronic bitch like you, there's be all those 'big words' and 'difficult concepts' that your poor pathetic brain wouldn't be able to handle."

[identity profile] vissernone.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
Well, her son's still got his independent veneer. That's enough of a cue for Eva to shift her attention. Her omnicomm's already in hand, not to use for its technological capabilities but because it'll add a decent amount of weight to her hand.

"You," she growls as she rushes in, "you are not allowed to take your pathetic little inferiority complex out on my son."

And with that she swings a forceful and surprisingly competent right-cross at Big Zero's nose.

[identity profile] vissernone.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
"God, broaden your vocabulary, you vile little idiot." Eva's smart enough to know that Stacy just spared her getting the wind knocked out of her, but that doesn't do anything to clear up her mood. Brushing herself off, she keeps an icy glare on Big Zero. Her knuckles are red from where they met Big Zero's face. It matches the flush in her cheeks. "If you weren't allowed to swear and slur you wouldn't have enough left for a haiku."
