Faster, faster faster! The world was a blur of color around him.
Sure the colors were mostly muted and dark, empty buildings and such but that didn't matter.
All that mattered was Beastboy had energy to burn and some hardcore parkour was the ticket. Up the fire escape in monkey form, powerful arms propelling him up over the side of the building into wolf form racing, claws scraping along the stone to the edge.
The leap was graceful and made his stomach flip. Even knowing he could shift into a flying creature and save himself if he missed it didn't make the loss of gravity any easier.
He hit the next building too hard and shifted into armadillo form bouncing and rolling along the ground protected by a hardened shell.
Unfortunately blindness came with this protection and he bounced clean off the other side of the building. He shifted back mid fall and let out a yelp before shifting into monkey form again and grabbing hold of a window pole flinging himself through the air and shifting to hawk form.
That would have been so cool if I'd meant to do it.
Continuing the push for adrenaline Beastboy raced about the city in various animal forms exploring at a near frantic pace.

He curled his lips in a horsey smile and trotted along at her side.

"So what's up? Everything's starting to calm down now that Mr. tall dark and ugly is being treated in the med bay."

Of coarse fate wouldn't let him be so cocky. As he was trying to reassure her he ran smack bam into a street sign.
Struck in the back of the head his feet flew out from under him and he crashed to the ground rolling awkwardly.
"I'm OK." He muttered into the pavement.

Keeping it an eye on it, Marco pretended everything was normal and just kept walking - if he ignored it, it might ignore him. But if he started morphing? It might interpret that as a threat.

Once on the street he shifted into horse again dashing along the sidewalk and jumping over a felled mailbox and skidding to a stop at a soda machine.
It seemed so out of place, a soda machine in a ruined city but there it was. The horse examined it carefully, and then kicked at it with a hoof.
The machine made a horrible crashing noise and spilled out at least fifty cans of soda which began spitting and hissing, showering the area in sticky sugary liquid causing the horse to whinny and shift back into Beastboy flailing about.

He tried in vain to smooth it down as he scooped up an unopened can and cracked the tab to drink it. He spat it out, tongue hanging out, "Warm." He complained to no one but himself.
There was something over the sound of his dripping that caught his attention however, someone was moving nearby. Considering all that had been happening in the city lately that made Beastboy nervous. He decided to shift into dog form again and try to catch a scent. Once in canine mode he could hear more clearly along with smell and began to stalk the mysterious whoever it was.

Seriously, was thing thing trying to get on his nerves? He'd been a dog - he knew what it looked like when they were tracking something, and Marco did not want some green freak following him back to Cassie's house. He glared at it, hoping it would go away.

All Beastboy knew was there was someone else slinking about the city and trying to avoid his keen doggy senses. Well no good there buddy. Time for the most direct approach.
He shifted back to human and called out, "Hey dude! What's up? You want some soda? I have plenty, they're just kinda...heh...warm."

He moved to start walking again, although not in the direction of Cassie's house this time.

It was all too easy to play overly friendly and a putz.

"Marco," he said back, with significantly less overfriendlyness. "And sure, you could use soda for hair spray, but then the if the ants find your head it'll all go horribly, horribly wrong."
