Heavens On Fire [Open]
Setsuna had stayed, and once again observed the training session of Starfighter Command, but declined to participate. While he had taken time to observe everyone's performance, and had his red Haro record the entire exercise, his attention had been mostly focused on Blade Squad. No surprise there, since they were mobile suit pilots. Like himself.
No. Not like me, he thought to himself.
He was on the bridge of the simulated Quarter right now, and had commandeered one of the various consoles. His Haro was connected to one of them, and was playing back part of Blade Squad's performance in the exercise.
As a team, they did fine, though something was missing in the way they operated. What that was, however, was something Setsuna couldn't quite put his finger on. Perhaps it was just this false environment they were in.
Still, something about this didn't sit right with him, so he reviewed the footage, and largely ignored the goings on around him. Maybe if he watched it long enough, he'd be able to figure out
((Free threading, mostly for Starfighter Command pilots, but everyone is welcome. See the ooc post here.))

Why were these guys always so damn frustrating!?
"Right."
Jerk.
"An' what're you, huh?" He had a feeling he already knew the answer.

Eventually the quiet started stretched on, so Setsuna didn't bother to say anything. He let the silence be his answer, since he didn't have one to give.

"Right. Well, I'm human."
He leaned against the console Setsuna was staring into, tilting his head back to glance at Setsuna's face- his braid slipped off his shoulder and swung down into the open space between them, swaying like a pendulum.
"Oi, you listening?"

Really, he should have been. He always did give too much credit, though, didn't he? Just too optimistic for his own good.
Alas.
"It just ain't worth it, right?" Duo hopped up to sit on the console, swinging his feet. "Fightin' without a cause you're damn sure of. Like we all did back home."
He couldn't imagine a Gundam pilot fighting without a cause- he wasn't sure he was right, but it was his gut instinct as a pilot himself, and previous conversations with Setsuna lent a similar story.

He sure knew.
"Iunno, man. I'm still willin' to act first, but... I don't think effectiveness can be talked about until we can kick ourselves really into gear, ready to fight."
"This isn't a battle we can go into being wishy-washy, from everythin' I've gathered. So until we're ready to really put it on the line, we're not ready at all.... No matter how many tactics and plans we come up with, no matter how much we practice."

"That's what it means to exist."

Jeez, these kinds of guys.
"It's not your real name, right? I'm not askin' ya to tell me your real one. I'm just curious."

"Just don't ever try to take my name as an alias, alright, buddy? That's off-limits." Because he figured he should cover his bases while he could...
no subject
Not that he ever would anyway.

It was like he was doomed to always hang around these guys, or something.
