Setsuna had stayed, and once again observed the training session of Starfighter Command, but declined to participate. While he had taken time to observe everyone's performance, and had his red Haro record the entire exercise, his attention had been mostly focused on Blade Squad. No surprise there, since they were mobile suit pilots. Like himself.

No. Not like me, he thought to himself.

He was on the bridge of the simulated Quarter right now, and had commandeered one of the various consoles. His Haro was connected to one of them, and was playing back part of Blade Squad's performance in the exercise.

As a team, they did fine, though something was missing in the way they operated. What that was, however, was something Setsuna couldn't quite put his finger on. Perhaps it was just this false environment they were in.

Still, something about this didn't sit right with him, so he reviewed the footage, and largely ignored the goings on around him. Maybe if he watched it long enough, he'd be able to figure out

"Then?" he pressed, crossing his arms and tapping a couple of fingers against his forearm.

"That's... up to you guys," he stated, not bothering to clarify that statement either.

[silverduelist]

"And again, up to us how?" This certainly sounded familiar.

"It'd be helpful if you were a little less vague when you speak, at least."

[a_mere_human]

"All you seem to fight for is your own survival, and nothing else. If that's how you choose to spend what's left of your life, so be it. But don't expect me to join you. I refuse to go backwards in my existence to what I once was."

Was that clear enough for you, Yzak?

[silverduelist]

"I'm not fighting for my own survival," he snapped back.

"But I'm not going to say I don't want to be wiped out by those Ohm bastards, either. Nobody does. I'm fighting for everybody else. To save my home, and all of my comrades and friends who are assumed dead right now unless they're somewhere down in those chambers. But that's something nobody knows."

"How do you save a world that's gone?"

[silverduelist]

Yzak clenched a fist tightly at the question, voice still firm, but he spoke slowly.

"We don't know if it's gone for good. But if there's a chance to restore it, I'm sure as hell not just going to sit back and do nothing. I'd rather fight for a hope and either be disappointed by the end result or die trying rather than do absolutely nothing and wonder what if."

"Hm." It was a foolish hope, but so is eradicating all war through force.

It was something to think about, at least. A goal to fight for.

[silverduelist]

"That's, unfortunately, the reality of our current situation. We don't know. But I'm not the type of person who let's something like that keep me from doing something."

[a_mere_human]

"Then I hope you're doing the right thing." Because he'll kill you if you aren't.

[silverduelist]

He would have said 'everyone' ... but even Yzak knew there were exceptions.

"Most people want to. But I don't see anything wrong with what we're aiming for now."

[a_mere_human]

"No one ever does."

[silverduelist]

"Of course not. But unless somebody points it out, I'd like to think we're perfectly capable of realizing that we're not actually doing something stupid."

[a_mere_human]

Setsuna turned his attention the replay of the mock battle.

"Don't be so sure."

[silverduelist]

"Yeah," Yzak narrowed his eyes, "the same goes for you. At least we're actually doing something instead of sitting around wasting time and playing judge to everybody else like we know better when we don't!"
