A bit of help.

She had put out her short request for a helping hand. It was such an odd thing to do ... if anything ever happened to her, her Lotus Squadron was always with her. With Aneasha, Tail and Mail always there, she was always at ease when something like this happened. But before she sent out her message, she had that realization of her lack of support. This didn't hinder her will to take action, however. One thing Dhianeila was was determined to do what she could. Those who helped and followed her only helped them all get to a goal that much faster.

After she had sent the message out, she did what she needed to do to help Alex, even though the result of said action was what anybody responding would walk in a see. A young, blonde woman seemingly resting on her bed. Though her legs hanging off the end insinuated that sleeping wasn't the simple case, here - she was sitting up just moments before her sudden drain of energy, focusing all that she could on her action. Now she simply needed rest. And maybe something to wake up to that wasn't the an empty, lonely room.

[ ooc; omnicomm post here, like it says in the request, it's an "open" log, but just for females please ]

Miku didn't mind looking in on people. It made her feel useful, and when the medbay needed her, she would freely volunteer (even if the bulk of her shift was simple things --- and browbeating different doctors to rest in that endlessly polite manner of her).

So, when Dhianeila had sent out the request, Miku answered readily. She knocked once on the door for politeness's sake, and then opened it.

"Resting peacefully...?" Miku questioned the unconscious girl. "It's bad to sleep that way, you'll hurt yourself, you know," Miku gently chided and began to shift the other girl around on her bed into a more natural position. She was not particularly strong, and it took a bit of effort, but soon the blonde girl was put to rights and Miku drew a blanket over her.

Miku did find herself with a little more free time a bit later, and checked in on Dhianeila again. She smiled warmly, to put the other girl at ease and said, "It's good to see you're awake. Do you need me to get you anything?" Miku was a bit concerned about how disoriented she looked, but noted it could also be because she appeared to just have woken up.

Even Miku wasn't someone who woke up exactly bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.

She had done what Katara couldn't, and she had also enabled her to not be injured anymore by Alex. Katara knew she was going to be talking to Alex soon enough, and would likely have to corner him so he wouldn't feel so bad. For now though, she wanted to give her thanks to the woman that had helped to ease some of Alex's pain. Her own was a mix of throbbing and ginger limbs, but other than that she was well enough to come see the woman's room and look after her.

When she peeked into the room, Katara saw that Dhianelia was resting, and she smiled before busying herself with the making of tea: she had borrowed Matt's kettle right before coming here. With just the right infusion, it would hopefully invigorate Dhianelia when she was feeling better.

She watched the woman slowly getting up and gave her a smile. "Oh good, you're up! I never got to thank you for what you did. If you hadn't come, I'm not sure what would have happened."

She poured them both tea, and topped it with a small sandwich. "Are you feeling ok?"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-10-19 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Well I never did get to thank you for that day," Katara said. "Besides, I wanted to make sure that you were okay too. I don't know very much about Shadows or how they effect people."

She shook her head. "It hurts a little, but I've had worse scrapes than this. I just couldn't raise a hand against Alex. He's my friend, and he was hurting."

She took a sip of the tea. "Oh, this is nice."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-10-20 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Katara sighed. "He;s not hurt, no. But he is still very grieved about losing someone he cared about. It was why he lost control in the first place. Normally, Alex wouldn't hurt a fly."

She looked up at her. "How did you stop him?"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Me neither," Katara said, shivering a little when she remembered the grip of those things on her. That had actually been way worse than Alex even hitting her. With Alex she at least knew that he was being controlled: with those things, he could feel their malicious intent and that was scary.

"I'm glad you did," Katara said, "Or it would ave probably gotten worse, and Alex wouldn't have been able to forgive himself later. I just wish it hadn't happened."

But then she looked thoughtful. "What is it YOU can do?"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-10-26 12:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"That does sound pretty overwhelming," Katara said, thinking about it. "I mean, there are two other people on this ship I can do that with: we Bonded due to one of their species, and so we pick up on if the other is sad or suffering or in a good mood. But I don't have that ability with anyone else. I'm really more a waterbender than anything else."

She looked at the woman. "But I have to admit it sounds like a power that might cause you stress. How do you cope?"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-10-29 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh," Katara said, looking a little troubled. "Have you tried making some new friends with some of the people on the ship? I know they're no substitute, but they are all very helpful, and we all seemed to have these different abilities. What were your friends able to do, that they could help you?"

Here, Katara looked puzzled. "Not in the physical sense? I don't get it. Do you travel dreams too?"

She knew a few people like that.

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-10-30 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh," she said. "Sorry. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the way these things work. I'm a waterbender, so my ways are strange to other people, but its not a form of magic or mind projection: its all still very much set on earth."

She was curious though. "How...do you know how to do this?"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-10-31 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I see...like my waterbending." Now that was something she could understand. It was one of things she loved her mother for: she'd cared about her daughter so much, she died to protect the fact that Katara could bend. Discovery of this would have led to Katara's death.

"You're very lucky to have it. Gifts like these are something that should be cherished. I just wish Alex's didn't cause him so much pain."

Lacus didn't even stop to reply to the posting she saw. She was on her way as soon as she had verified the details. It sounded like this girl was in trouble; Lacus wasn't one to ignore such a thing, and she certainly did not want to waste any time.

Upon entering the room, she saw the other girl's unmoving form and rushed to her side. Not sure what she could do to help specifically, she sat down next to her and took her hand. "Can you hear me?"

[identity profile] cosmicprayer.livejournal.com 2010-10-25 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Lacus had no plans to leave; she would wait as long as it took. She wanted to be there when this girl finally woke up.

...And she was quite relieved when she did. "Hello... are you all right?"

[identity profile] cosmicprayer.livejournal.com 2010-10-29 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Lacus breathed a sigh of relief. "I'm glad. What happened, if you don't mind me asking?"

[identity profile] cosmicprayer.livejournal.com 2010-10-30 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Felt?" She blinked at the other girl in confusion. "What do you mean?"

[identity profile] cosmicprayer.livejournal.com 2010-11-01 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
"That's amazing!" she said. "But it causes this much fatigue?"
