Einhart was depressed. Which really, to those who vaguely knew her wasn't much different than her normal moods. Of course, right now she was still resting in the med bay, laying back on one of the recovery beds. That virus... what it had done to her...

She had tried to kill Vivio.

She tried to kill her only friend.

What kind of person was she?

Vivio, for the most part, was worried about her friend. Especially after what had happened...

Peeking inside the medbay, Vivio caught notice of Einhart and slowly approached her.

"Einhart-chan... how are you feeling?" she asked.

Einhart shook her head, turning to look over at Vivio. "I'm... not angry or sick anymore..."

Vivio let a small smile form on her face as she slowly approached Einhart, sitting down in a chair nearby.

"That's good..." she said. Her heart sank looking at her. The virus lead them to do what they did. "Einhart, I... I'm sorry for having to hit you..."

Einhart frowned, laying down a bit more and turning away from Vivio. "... Don't be. It's... I tried to kill you."

Vivio stood up, noticing Einhart quickly turn. "It wasn't your fault, Einhart-chan!" Vivio said, quickly running to face her. "It was the virus!"

Einhart didn't say anything, she just turned away from Vivio again. She... didn't deserve to have Vivio as a friend, not after what had just happened.

"Einhart-chan! I'm not angry at you! No one is!" Vivio said, quickly running around to face her friend. "Honest! Please don't do this!" She was trying her best not to tear up at the sight.

Einhart sighed. "Vivio... I... don't deserve a friend like you," she managed to get out, her hard feeling like it would stop when she even thought about the words and what happened. "I... after that... I don't deserve anyone..."

"D-Don't say that!" Vivio said, moving over to take Einhart's hand. "Don't say that, please! It... y-you couldn't help it! None of us could! Please... believe me...!"

Einhart shook her head. "I should've been stronger... should've fought it."

"Einhart-chan..." Vivio said, tears starting to roll down her face. One of her friends from home in such pain... it wasn't fair. "It's okay... I promise..."

Einhart frowned at that, sitting up a bit. "No it isn't. I... wanted this strength so I could protect those that I care about... and not only can't I do that... but I try to kill someone important to me... I'm... I'm just..."

"No, you're nothing bad!" Vivio said, cutting her off. "It wasn't your fault! I'm not blaming you...! Einhart-chan, I... I..."

Einhart was being stubborn. It was easy to see - she was hurting and blaming herself. She needed some way to let her know that she still cared for her.

Her cheeks flushed as an idea came to her mind. Would it work? Could it? Would it hurt their friendship?

It didn't matter at this point - she leaned over, stopping only briefly before kissing the girl softly.

Einhart's eyes widened as she was about to say something, but then Vivio's lips pressed against hers and now her brain was going really fast and trying to process the fact that Vivio was kissing her.

The first time Vivio kissed someone, it was over pride. This time, it was over feelings. She wanted to make Einhart feel better somehow and this was the only thing she could think of...

Is... is this what Nanoha-mama and Fate-mama feel like when...? Vivio idly thought, not pulling away.

Einhart shivered a bit, feeling Vivio's lips on hers like that, not going anywhere.

Before she could even tell her body to stop, she felt herself kissing back.

Vivio's heart slightly fluttered as she felt Einhart return the kiss. This wasn't making sense to the little girl - especially after she had also admitted to liking Fletcher.

Einhart-chan...

She reached over and took her friend's hands, holding them.

Einhart felt herself squeezing Vivio's hands as she continued kissing back. This... this was...

She couldn't even really think about what was going on right now. She didn't even really want to. Right now, she was just going to let this keep happening...

The same thing was running through Vivio's head. It was a wonderful, sweet feeling, one she didn't want interrupted.

She continued with her kiss, not wanting the moment to end.

Fate had been worrying again. Sure, she didn't know Einhart that well, but she knew the girl was important to Vivio. That alone was enough for Fate to extend her protective instincts towards her.

So, of course, she had been thrilled when the news that all of the infected had been cured, but she held off a bit before following her daughter down to the Med Bay. It'd be nice to give the kids some time alone to talk, right?

... Of course, as soon as Fate spotted the two of them, she might have started regretting that decision just a little.

"V-Vivio!"

Oh god, did she seriously just walk in on her ten-year-old daughter lip-locking with her friend?

And right behind Fate was Nanoha.

Who had much the same reaction to the kiss in front of them. Sure, maybe it was a little nostalgic, but they hadn't been ten. "Vivio...?!"

And at the sound of her friend's parents going "OMG", Einhart broke away from Vivio, her face going completely red as she stayed silent. For now.

Vivio's eyes went wide hearing her parents freaking out. Her own face turned red as she pulled away and looked at the bewildered Fate and Nanoha.

"N-Nanoha-mama! Fate-mama!" Vivio cried out, surprised. "I... I, uh..."

Ooooh dear. On one hand, Fate could almost feel bad for her daughter; after all, she'd be lying if she said she and Nanoha had never been caught by Lindy or Nanoha's parents... but on the other: ten.

"Um... maybe we should have a talk."

Yeah, Fate really didn't know how to deal with this. But talking it out seemed like a good idea, right?

Fate, Nanoha was right there with you. Sure, there was nothing wrong with being caught by your parents in the middle of a kiss, but... that was when you were a teenager, at least. "Vivio, Einhart-chan... what's going on?"

Beyond the obvious, anyway.

Einhart blinked, looking between the three of them. "I... umm... well... I... ah..."

Don't worry, Einhart, Vivio will save the day! Or maybe make it less awkward!

"Ahhh... well... Einhart-chan was upset." Vivio said. "She was upset because of what happened with the virus and... it hurt seeing her like that. I wanted her not to feel bad and... that was the only thing I could think of..."

She looked down, shuffling her feet.

"Well, Vivio... It's good that you wanted to cheer Einhart up... that you wanted to be there for your friend when she was hurting." Fate said. Her voice was mostly reassuring, but there was still a faint scolding tone as she spoke.

"But that's not the right way to do it."

Nanoha glanced over at Fate, shooting her a quick telepathic question - how do we handle this? - before she took a step closer to Vivio, crossing her arms. "Fate-mama's right," she said. "You girls are much too young to even be thinking about that sort of thing."

Einhart blushed, looking away. Great, not only did she try to kill Vivio, but now her being depressed had Vivio do something that got her into trouble.

She really didn't deserve a friend like her.

Vivio looked down, letting out a sigh. "I know... I'm sorry, mamas." Vivio said, her tone one of defeat. She couldn't win, that was for sure and this time, she was taking full responsibility.

Fate reached out, placing a hand on each girl's head to ruffle their hair. She hoped they'd realize they weren't in deep trouble. Just a little bit.

"And we're not saying you can't be happy when you're with each other..." After all, Fate's crush on Nanoha had developed when she was around their age. She'd be a hypocrite if she tried to reprimand them for it. "But you need to wait 'till you're older to even consider if your feelings are what you think they are, okay?"

As for Nanoha's question... Fate sent back a reply: I think we should let them off the hook, just this once.

You always say that, Nanoha replied with a mental sigh. "That, and you shouldn't be kissing like that when you're this young! That's not something that girls your age should be doing, you know!"

She and Fate had been at least sixteen before they'd been doing that.

Einhart... well. Blushed. And nodded. And blushed some more.

She was still a bit on the confused side, to say the least.

Well, stop giving her the wrong idea, Nanoha and Fate. I mean--

Vivio nodded at what her parents had said, nodding. Admittedly, the damage was done, but now she knew.

"I understand." she said, looking back at her mothers, feeling guilty over what had happened.

"Good." Fate said. And again, she sent a telepathic message to Nanoha. I think they realize what they did was bad, so doesn't seems like a bit much to punish them for it?

I'm not saying we should punish them, just that we should have a more serious talk later. "If you understand, then... that's all right," Nanoha said with a nod before something struck her.

"Vivio, where... did you learn to kiss like that, anyway?"

Einhart blinked. "I... was kinda wondering that myself..."

Vivio blushed, shuffled her feet and pointed at Nanoha and Fate.

She shouldn't of walked in that one time, now shouldn't she?

Looking completely mortified and at a total loss for words.

"O-Oh dear."

Okay, maybe not at a total loss.

"...ah." Nanoha gave a visible sigh. "W-well, Vivio. What Fate-mama and I do is something that two adults who love each other very much do to show their love. It isn't something that a girl your age should even be thinking about."

Einhart just nodded. And blushed. And nodded some more.

Vivio understood that, now. Her and her mamas? Good. Her and Einhart? Bad. Or at least until she gets older -- mentally.

"Okay, though... what should I do instead?" Vivio asked.

"You could... hold her hand, or hug her." Fate said. Looks like she's recovering a little quicker than last time.

"Like Nanoha-mama said, anything else isn't appropriate for children your age."

A nod. "Hugs are good, and so is holding each other's hand," Nanoha agreed. "Your mama and I did those things all the time when we were your age." And fond memories they were.

"But that, we didn't do until we were much older!"

Einhart blushed some more, and nodded. Although she was still confused over why Vivio had kissed her in the first place, and she was confused. To say the least.

"Okay... I won't do it again. I promise." Vivio said, smiling at her mamas. She still had a long way to go, trying to figure out everything from life. Best to take it slow...
