Peter, now maskless due to realizing there was no real point to keeping his identity secret, had wandered down to engineering. He poked and prodded at some of the odder devices, but after digging around for a screwdriver, he began the time consuming job of maintaining his webshooters, a task that had the added bonus of being mind-numbing enough to keep him from thinking about the news he had just received.

The Pyro happened to be in engineering at the same time, and amazingly enough, he was actually working instead of loafing around and pushing buttons he shouldn't be pushing. He was slaving away at a design for a new flamethrower, and it was taking longer than usual since he wasn't entirely sure what he wanted it to do just yet.

He stopped what he was doing and glanced in the direction of the newcomer. It was somebody he didn't recognize, which meant it was somebody he could screw with. He didn't move a muscle, and simply started silently at the kid through his gas mask, wondering how long it would take him to notice the lump of fireproof suit in the corner.

Peter yawned and stretched a bit,looking around the room.

...that suit hadn't been there when he came in. Some people would've ignored it, Some people would freak out. Peter, his slight paranoia kicking in, threw a ratchet at it.

Not as planned.

Pyro didn't have time to duck out of the way, and the ratchet conked him square on the head. He let out a yelp and grasped as his forehead.

"Hey, what's the big idea?" He said, muffled.

"I don't like it when people try to sneak up on me?"

"Who, me?" Pyro pulled the innocent act. "I was just minding my own business and definitely not trying to screw with the newbie at all."

Peter stared. "Really. That's what you're going with? A strangely specific denial? Cuz I gotta tell you, it's not helping your case."

"You're bustin' my chops, kid, you know that?" Pyro sighed. "I must be outta practice. This place is makin' me soft. So what's your story, huh?"

"I bust everyone's chops.' He replied with a smirk. "Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man."

Pyro stared at him for a moment. "Another superhero, huh? Everybody's a superhero. Maybe I should get a superhero name, I already got the mask."

((ooc: Also? Is this the Engineering Core at the top or the side room off Medical that's also kind of an engineering space? Only reason I ask is for how to have Jack react/behave to the room. =3;;;;; *keeps it vague for now*))


With Ratchet busy with his own duties, Wheeljack took some time to explore a little more around the ship, trying to keep his mind off of . . . a myriad of considerations really. In doing so, and without a particular destination in mind, the Autobot engineer was but wasn't paying much attention to where he was going until he passed through a doorway into a room that was already occupied.

"Oh! Ah . . . hi!"

"Heya." Peter said, raising his hand as a gesture of acknowledgement, still engrossed in his work with his back turned to Wheeljack. Spraying solvent into the webshooter's nozzle, he judged his work finished, and turned.
