Time for some one-on-one (Bendytimed to just before sick plot first post) [closed]

Nanashi had been pushing her students daily, training them rigorously in all sorts of basics, but finally she had come to the end of what she had been formally trained in. It was here that she had lost her teacher to the war. The rest she learned years later on the battlefield.

Of course, this would reflect in her teaching. Her students just didn't know quite yet. She sat cross-legged on one of the chairs in the entrance hall, waiting for Katara and Edward. She had a few training swords made from wood a while back when she had dropped off the junk furniture at that craftsman's place. She had them using their steel weapons with protective seals on the blades for that first part of training, but now they would be turning their blades on each other, and she had to keep in mind that if something was chopped off, it could not be stuck back on and held there to heal. Hence the wood swords.

With that prepared, all there was left was for her students to arrive.

If Ed had the energy, his head would have been pinballing between the pair. As it stood, he just nodded wearily as he was half-led to the nearest room to recover in.

"Tea sounds good," he muttered out, staggering towards the door.

Katara was rarely this snippy, but she hated people thinking she needed to be told how to take care of someone: she'd had to for years. In any case, she would apologize to Nanashi later, busying herself with making tea.

Teacher and two students: their bond, in her mind, was as important as family members and she would make sure he was okay. Even now, Katara had to tolerate Nanashi's tough love toward Ed as her way of making him stronger. It sad ill with her just like when Toph was first training Aang.

She brought the tea over, making two more cups for herself and Nanashi.

Sitting down, Ed kicked off his boots and groaned as he flopped on the bed. "Getting warm," he muttered as he fumbled for his jacket.

Katara gave Nanashi a polite bow, and mopped Ed's head. The sweating was a good sign, but it didn't mean that she liked seeing him sick. It reminded her too much of the time she and Sokka had gotten ill and needed to suck on those frozen frogs.

"Have some tea," Katara said. "It'll be good for you."
