We will all go together when we go [Closed to bomb teams]
There were 8 bombs spread around the ship. The teams were assigned. They had their orders, now they had to carry them out. And pray to whatever they held dear that they could disarm them in time.
Tick tock.
Tick tock.

Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
Circling overhead once Celena spotted the others down below, along with a talking book from what she could hear and see, one that contained some power if her sense was to be trusted. One that was intending to disable the device from what she gathered, tilting on wing tip she altered her path, coming in low over the pods wings flaring wide out at the last second to kill her momentum to land gracefully for the speed she had come in at.
Walking up to the pair, "Greetings, I gather you too sense the device ahead," the briefest of nods given to them both as she walked up to and just past the girl and the book she carried, her eyes and markings flaring as she viewed the path ahead in terms of energy and magic. "This could prove..interesting,"
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
"That's a pretty nasty feel," Zetta said. Amazingly, he's too distracted to ham it up... for the moment. "I can get to it, but I'm pretty sure I'd be out of minions to invite by the time I reached it. Are you dexterous enough to write?" Zetta automatically assumed literacy.
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
The scent of this thing is...strage to say the least, but overlaid by a distinctly foul stench, that's enough to stop the little blue anomaly in his crawling tracks.
Perking both five-inch ears up, Renne finds himself warily murmuring to himself.
"Eeeegh. Tha-t be stin-kee."
English be damned, the flashes of colour streaking across his skin might be enough to display his disgust.
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
The sense of another presence drew her attention from the bomb ahead, confirmed as the small one spoke, looking over her shoulder to the anomaly. Blinking at the sight of the colours streaking over the anomaly in her sight. "Indeed so, let us see about getting rid of the stink shall we?" She replied with a hint of her usual cheerful manner.
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
Of course Zetta took charge. He's the freakin' Overlord! The only reason he's even bothering to include these two is that destroying the bomb, or simply laughing off the blast, would probably cause more trouble in the long run. And his plan from the beginning has been 'avoid floating aimlessly in the vacuum of space'.
"The way I see it, we've got three problems here. Getting to the bomb, finding the bomb, getting rid of the bomb. I think that last step is the easiest. I can do shielding, or transportation, for the three of us. Whatever I don't do someone else should. Let's find the damn thing and see what it looks like."
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
There's a tone in his voice as he speaks, that says something unpoken. There's a reason why he can detect magic as well as he does and why his tone has such a definite sound of disdain, distate, even hate, toward anything magical.
If it could kill you, you develop an instinctive hate/fear toward it. However, upon crawling toward the two voices, Renne seems to whisper periodically to something tucked under an arm. Yeah, that plushie duo of his is never far. Archie and Billy!plushie both sit nestled in Renne's grip.
Try to take 'em away and he will raise hell.
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
Renne hmm? Interesting name, a half-smile touching her snout as she looked back across to the anomoly..that disdain, distaste toward the magic did not go unnoticed..curious. "Renne, if you can locate the source of its stench, we will make sure that it ceases to be," She replied calmly, tilting her head a little at the whispering to something under an arm, though she thought little of it.
"Well then, shall we? Shield us and we shall find and disarm this bomb, we have little time to lose," She glanced over her shoulder to the book, "Would you need a hand being carried?"
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
Shield was really... (really, really, REALLY) too elegant a word for what Zetta intended to do to protect them. Really, it's more attempting to fight a waterfall with a garden hose.
The most badass freakin' garden hose in the cosmos. The sort of garden hose that's scaled for use by Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
A purple aura flared up around the Overlord, beams of light spiking out from its heart as Zetta tapped into and manifested his own mana. The strongest mana in the cosmos. Literally. Up till now, it had been utterly useless to Zetta in book form -- but if there's one thing Zetta can do well, it's show off. And mana this powerful, even unformed and featureless, filled the air so thoroughly the malefic power from the bomb had simply no space to occupy.
Of course, now Celena and Renne are surrounded by the mana of an over-the-top demon, but his isn't hostile or obstructive.
"Hyaaaa ha ha ha!" The book called out in the general direction of the device, "You may be a deadly explosive, but there's no denying that I'm the bomb!"
Celena, you can handle him a little roughly. For that line, he deserves it.
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
Generally this word isn't a good word to him. Mana, magic, telepathic....It all makes him cringe and instinctively react.
The stench of what his existence perceives as magic is the same stench no matter how you cut it. Thus, the utter void of that absence where many think magic "should" be...is just that void, meeting head-on with this thing called mana. Daring the mana to identify itself as "magic" and summarily be rejected like a disease from an intensely specialised ecosystem. Analysing the mana, figuring out what it is to determine if it indeed should be rejected by an anomaly's defences.
Multiverses never lied when they said Renne shouldn't exist. Multiverses never lied when they deemed him a complete anomaly and when he 'speaks', it isn't through his voice or any magical mumbo-jumbo. It's emotion in the rawest of forms.
And living.
Explain. Clarify. Now. Not understand. Fear. Harm. Magic. Evil. Explain.
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
Even as she gave Zetta a rather rough telekinetic ride up to her back for that bad line. The effect it was having on the blue anomaly was quite clear...she turned toward the small one. "This magic is not evil, Renne, not intent to harm, it is to protect us from that which would stop us, it is merely rather uncontrolled," She explained calmly, reassuringly before casting a sharp glance to the book on her back.
"Control it if you can, Renne, can you still smell out the bad magic?"
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
"Besides, it's mana. Mana isn't magic. Mana is much more fundamental."
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
The response comes out in something between words and that raw, pure emotion. Emotion that shouldn't be anything in this Multiverse except a sensation. A reaction. A concept.
Not a solid thing, let alone a living entity.
Shrinking in a little on himself, a rather strong set of shields throws itself up around the creature, making him appear as if an exoskeleton carved straight out of a starry sky had just grown on him. It won't last long and he already anticipates losing his lunch a time or four but the point is this: There's one intentional evil here and that needs to be neutralised, plain and simple.
He'll likely explain, or try, to these two just how his anatomy works. Maybe why it works the way it does...
Screwing up his courage and holding his two plushies like a lifeline, the armoured creature moves like a like-ended magnet through the drowning presence of magic/mana. His nose is already to the floor, trying to re-establish which stench he's hunting for.
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
The origin? The anomaly was proving more and more curious to the Linar, though she had to force down her curiosity for the moment in light of their situation. "I know what it is, I was merely explaining the situation to Renne here,"
"Needless to say we should not press our luck with the time we have," She commented quickly, "Lead the way, Renne," she dipped her head to the little one, sensing those shields even as they appeared. An interesting creature indeed..she would have to learning more about them once this was over.
As Renne set off Celena followed quickly afterward, easily balancing the large book on her back.
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
Displacing himself from....part of himself, forcing a detachment that borders on utterly not giving a damn, Renne carefully sniffs his way onward. A little to the left, a little to the right.
When he's near enough (he thinks; mind, he's not using any eyes here) to the first stench, Renne lets out basically what sounds like a short, five-way harmonised howl.
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
Heh.... heh heh...
HYAAA HA HA HA HA HA!
Zetta laughed, his very patented evil laugh, as he let the power flow through him. Giving up just wasn't something he could do. Even with his Netherworld lost, even confined to a book, even with nothing to his name but his mostly-useless mana and a far-too-inflated ego, Zetta didn't give up hope. Didn't know HOW to give up hope. In the light of that, one measly bomb couldn't drag him down.
That's not the badass freakin' Overlord; that's not the strongest mana in the cosmos. That's Zetta.
"Good work -- uh, you two!" He'll ask their names later. Maybe.
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
"Well done, Renne, and you too," Nodding to them both before taking a deep breath. Closing her eyes once more, glowing once more brightly as she opened them, her true sight piercing through the power it gave off "Let us see if we cannot diffuse this then shall we," She stepped forward at that, holding a paw over the device, not touching but letting tendrils of her energy flow forth, to slowly and carefully attempt to strip away the defenses of the device.
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
He's not sure how he could but something in him says that it's better to lose his lunch a few times than to have this entire place blown to oblivion. Thus, keeping up his armour as long as he can, the anomaly moves a little closer to the device.
It's a terrifying thing. I have faced worse. The by-play of logic and fear-instinct run mad in his head.
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
"If you can't get it, I've got an emergency trick, but it'll cost one of you a pretty hefty chunk of mana."
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
It took a good deal of effort to keep herself focused as she pealed back layers of the bomb's defenses neutralizing each as efficiently as she could, it was not however a quick task as some of the inbuilt defenses were more...formidable than others.
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
Having no experience in this kind of technical know-how, Renne has only one thing to go on. He recalls the things passed to him and, gritting his teeth, crawls warily closer to the magic-infested device.
Alone, the device is deadly enough.
With that stench, it's made all the worse.
Still, that stench is what needs to go first. Quietly, Renne lets down a thin layer of his armour; almost-Transcending. As it is, his....solidity seems briefly in question, as if he can dissolve off from tangible reality. This case however, there's a silvery 'taste'/'touch'/'smell' in the air. Silvery, like something running slowly backwards.
It isn't much but his try includes a little bit of Time displacement.
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta--Sorry about the delay!
"Getting closer..there are still defenses to go however" She commented as she disabled a particular layer of defense letting her energies weave and cut through the defenses, they didn't prove too difficult though they took some time to bypass and otherwise disable...that feel in the air of something going backwards drawing her attention briefly..a little extra time she sensed, the oddity was an interesting one indeed, "That should help indeed,"
Only a few layers of defenses yet to go...with any luck they would have the bomb disabled in moments, especially with the addition of time given by the oddity.
Re: Bomb 1- Celena, Renne, and Zetta--Sorry about the delay!
By now, his skin begins to flash a silvery-crystalline sort of way and immediately surrounding him, things seem to ripple just a tad, as if he touches Time itself in the very literal sense.
