A cranky fire prince is waiting for his test student. He's still patchily burned in places from his latest round of maze-running, but the best cure for Zuko's crankiness is to get to work on whatever task has been put to him at the time. Currently, Hiccup is it.

Of course, this means he's sensorium-camping, which might not go over so well with the rest of the crew.

"Nope!" Marco said, grinning. "And sorry, I don't know any Sokka, soooo I'll just have to tell all my jokes to you! Don't worry, I'll beat a sense of humour into your head somehow."

Well. Technically Marco did know Sokka. He just didn't know that Sokka was called Sokka. He'd been much too pissed off that day to do anything like, say, ask someone's name.

"Get in line. You're not the first to try."

Zuko heaves a sigh, trying (again) not to think of the state he left his uncle. "When my student gets here, you're gonna have to go. I can't have you distracting either of us." While Hiccup stands there and squeezes rocks - that's work for the whole attention, it is.

Marco promptly sits down on a rock, as if he is sitting in line. Sure, he probably could find something better to do. And he didn't actually plan to hang around whenever this student person come along - but for once, Marco was doing something normal and annoying sometime. What with trying to deal with Iniss, and then trying to figure out what was up with Jaime, it'd been a while since he had just hung around and got in people's way.

Well. Unless you count running about as Cinnabon. Which Marco didn't. Even if it was fun.

"Me? Distracting? Come on, whatever gave you that idea? I could just sit here, quiet as a mouse." Technically, Marco couldn't just sit as quiet as a mouse: he could sit as a mouse. Not that he'd tell Grass Killer that. He'd probably singe Marco's fur in shock. "Sooooo what's the plan? Passing on the long and noble tradition of starting campfires? 'How To Be Unfunny 101'?"

"Endurance and strength conditioning. So if you're going to stick around, I hope you enjoy watching someone squeeze rocks for hours."

He shrugs. "He's from a warrior society. But the kind where if you're not born bigger and stronger than everyone else, you don't get trained to become stronger. So I agreed to teach him."

There are a lot of areas where Zuko has some flaws. One of them is not fitness. Whatever else is wrong with the boy, no matter who you are, you kind of have to admit - he has a rockin' hot bod.

Marco raised an eyebrow. This guy could squeeze rocks? (Although, he didn't say if anything happened to the rocks. For all Marco knew, he just stood around trying to squish a rock without actually crushing the rock or anything. Which would be really boring.) "Sorry, no can do. I'm sure I'll have something more interesting that I'll will desperately need to go do. Like watching grass grow, maybe."

And sorry Zuko, but Marco is into chicks. Chicks. Which means he absolutely refuses to even look at Zuko's supposedly 'hot bod'. And he's definitely not jealous. No, certainly not. Marco is clearly hotter.

Marco grinned, and pointed dramatically at Zuko. "Aha!" he said. "You can make a joke! See, there's hopw for you yet."

And, believe it or not, that one joke just raised Marco's opinion of you more than any apology could do, Grass Burning Guy.
