Devlin was in absolutely no way nervous at all about hanging out with Hikari. After all, it was just hanging out, not a date or anything. Even if he really liked her. And she was really cute. He wasn't nervous, no.

Hikari didn't take to long to get to where she and Devlin were supposed to meet up. Thankfully she had managed to get Tailmon to agree to give her some space for now. "Hey Devlin! How are you?" she asked, smiling over at him.

Great, she came! And no Digimon too--he didn't have to stress about trying not to offend Tailmon somehow.

"I'm good," he answered, grinning. "How about you?"

Hikari grinned. "I've been pretty good too!" she said, laughing. "So... you ready?" she asked, moving a little closer to him.

Devlin was not blushing as she got closer. It was just your imagination!

And the slight stammer when he said, "S-sure, let's go!" was just some kind of normal stutter or something.

Hikari giggled. "Okay then," she said as she slowly started walking towards... somewhere in the city. As long as they knew where they were going it really didn't matter where, so...

So they were walking. To...somewhere. Just looking.

Yeah, this was going to get uncomfortable in a hurry.

"So," Devlin said, "when are you from? I mean, you said you hadn't seen the end of that show, and it looked a little old to me."

Crap, did he just say what he thought he did?

"I mean, not old," he insisted. "Just...you know..."

Hikari blinked, looking over at Devlin. That comment about Ryuki being old... that...

She shook her head. "I'm from early 2003," she answered. "What about you?"

What? Holy... Wow, that was...

"Wow," he said. "I'm from 2037..."

Hikari blinked, then giggled a bit. "Well, I guess it really doesn't matter now, does it?" she asked, smiling a bit. No matter how old she should be in Devlin's world, that didn't change anything about the situation they were in now.

"But yeah... I guess Ryuki would look old to you."

"So, this isn't going to be too weird?" Devlin asked. "Or anything?"

Inwardly, he was sighing in relief. Issues about rejection? Yeah, those he definitely had to admit he had.

Hikari smiled. "Nope, not at all. Why would it?"

"N-no reason," Devlin stammered. "Just wanted to be sure, with different times and all."

Hikari giggled a bit more at that. "Well, like I said, not weird at all." As if the prove that, she moved up and gave Devlin a hug. Sure, back home it would've been rude but well... here it was a different story, different customs and a bunch of different people were here.

Okay, this was nice. Devlin managed to get through his crush-addled brain that he needed to respond, so he hugged Hikari back, hoping she didn't see the blush on his face, even though he was smiling.

"I'm glad," he said. "Thanks."

Hikari giggled. "You're welcome," she said. She stayed in his embrace for a few moments, blushing just a bit, before she broke away and started looking around the city. "You know, I've heard that there are pieces of our worlds in the city here. You think you'll find anyplace from back home?"

Devlin looked around a bit too, but he did catch a bit of her blush. Good, he wasn't the only one who was a little...not-nervous.

"Maybe," he answered, looking toward the sky. "If we see my home, it'll probably be pretty tall."

Hikari grinned at that. "Mine would probably be too. The whole apartment building would've had to be in here."

An idea hit Devlin, and he asked, "If you want to look up there, I think I know a way we can."

Hikari giggled. "Oh? What is it? I know a couple of ways too..."

Devlin shifted partially to alien form--not the full transformation, but just enough that insectoid wings spread from his back.

"How's this?" he asked, holding out his hand.

Hikari smiled. "Oh, wow. Just hold on a sec, 'k?" She asked, moving back a bit and pulling out a card. "Adeat!" she called out... and in a flash of light she was in her pactio outfit, completely with her angel wings. She grinned, before moving to take Devlin's hand.

"Okay, let's go!"

Devlin grinned uncontrollably as she took his hand and they took flight. He barely paid attention to any of the city below.

Who needed a magic carpet? This was magical enough.

Hikari giggled, looking down at the city from above. "It's nice to just go flying sometimes," she said, grinning. "Lately I've only been doing it while in practice, not to have fun."

"Mostly, I only ever get to use my powers for fun," Devlin said. "My dad doesn't really like my brother or me trying to fight. He thinks it's too dangerous." And well, he was right. But how else were they going to learn anything?

Hikari frowned. "I see... I... well, I didn't have these powers until recently. I didn't have them back home and I'm still getting used to them."

"It's still really cool, though," Devlin assured. "I could help you!"
