Cloak and Dagger [Closed]

Leon found a relatively quiet spot in the city to meet the Major. He was in the area dubbed "Religion Row," standing outside of some kind of a mausoleum. Given the type of building, not many people wandered by, which suited him just fine. Given what he and the Major were about to discuss, it was important to not have anyone overhear. Especially Stacy.

The mausoleum district was always so very quiet. Really, it would take some effort to move through it without being noticed; despite the shadows and lack of company, the stone walls made every scuff and footstep echo, unles one was careful. Silent as a shadow, the Major dropped down off the roof, politely in front of Leon, rather than behind him.

This was business, after all.

"Here," she offered him the file-folder without preamble. It wasn't paper, exactly, but it was physical media, and thus not something any amount of cyborg wizardry on Stacy's part could have stolen, without physically taking a copy. Aoi would have been proud. Inside were schematics, hand-drawn, but impossibly accurate, pinpointing the location of GLaDOS' physical location, or rather the location of its main processors.

"It's accurate," her reply was firm, "There might be back-up processors, but until they come online, there's no way to track them. Aside from that, I double-checked this, myself."

"It's a real problem, especially considering the nature of the AI in question," Motoko reminded him, calmly, "We have no real idea what criteria allow it to take people, and the area where they're being placed is even less accessible. If mortal danger to the GLaDOS itself, or its mission, negates whatever's restricting it in the same way it did with HAL, we'll lose anyone we send in after the damn thing."

She blinked. That was...impossible. Motoko wasn't a woman given to showing her surprise, if she ever felt it. Feel honored, Leon, you're the only one in decades, aside from perhaps Batou.

"You noticed?" Well, she has a right to be incredulous. He;s all-natural, after all, "It is a pretty clumsy hack. Have you disseminated that intel to anyone yet?"

"Not always, but unless they're already open to the idea, trying to get them to accept it will be more trouble than it's worth," Was Kennedy the only one who'd had more upheaval than the hack could take? There was a large gap a few months back...

"We need a distraction, and someone to come at it from the database side, in addition to the attacking force."
