No Cake for Old Men... wait, that doesn't work

Despite how long they'd been on the ship, there had been five individuals who, for whatever reason, had not been kidnapped by GLaDoS. That had all changed several days ago when they were taken at different times and forced to run mazes.

Now, for whatever reasons, they were each spat out back onto the meatship.

"I wanted that cake." She grumbled.

He gave her a slightly confused look. "Cake? There's real food here, and I didn't get any?"

Wanda started but calmed down when she realized it was Tony. "There is some real food here, but I wasn't talking about that. GLaDoS promised me cake when she had me running through mazes like a rat."

He'd come back to the real food later. GLaDoS interested him more for the moment. "What was it like?"

"Incredibly frustrated. I had to solve puzzles, why I don't know. I can't think of any reason beyond sating her sadism."

"Huh. Sounds like she and JARVIS would get along really well." But with that out of the way... Onto other matters. "You said something about real food. You mean food other than that goo?"

Wanda blinked. "Why would Jarvis get along with..." Must be one of those alternate universe things. Though she found it hard to picture any Jarvis as anything but proper and polite. "I'm not sure where the rest of it is. Maybe we ran out while I was gone. There was never very much real food but at least the Sensoriums could make you believe you were eating something real."

He knew he could trust Loren, since she already knew quite a bit of what was happening. But he didn't spill it all. As much as he didn't want to hide anything, it all had to be decided first, before anything could be passed on.

Cassie muttered a few curses and rose to her feet. She paused for a moment, then started laughing, which didn't make her look altogether sane. "The cake is a lie!"

Jonas shrugged politely. "[I would imagine that you are hungry after all that. Even if cake is not actually available.]" Or tired, maybe. He was under the impression that GLaDOS was not known for allowing her test subjects to rest.

She was pretty sure he was getting sick of that. "Well, uhm. Thanks for making sure I didn't do anything catastrophically stupid." Aside from hitting on an alternate version of her uncle. But there wasn't much he could do about that.

"[I have been reasonably well.]" Jonas shrugged. "[I have been thinking about joining the Engineering or Science departments. Possibly Security as well, if those of us who are under eighteen are permitted to join now that Captain Kennedy is no longer running the department.]"

"Engineering and Science are cool... though I like Engineering more than Science, but that's just because I haven't gotten to the point where I can actually do fun stuff. I've mostly just been the unofficial janitor. But there are some sweet things to watch. Probably won't be a problem for you."
