"Ow! Dammit." Toxin snarled at the spot on the building where he'd been attempting to scratch, backing away from it. It wasn't like his claws needed sharpening, but he'd figured that doing it would help him vent his frustration a little.

So much for that. All it did was give him a headache from the high pitched noise. He bared his teeth at the building again simply because it made him feel better, then jumped onto the building, scrambling up its side until he reached a ledge. He sat there, eyepatches narrowed as he stared down at the city and sulked.

Stupid Spider-Man. Stupid Venom. Stupid no fighting rules.

"That sounds horrific," Peter laughs back, "So, uh, is Pat-- in there? Can I speak to him?"

Toxin grumbles, heaving a sigh.

A moment later, Pat has been roused, and shakes his head in an attempt to clear it. The eyepatches narrow for a moment as he takes in the city, peter, and...well, surprisingly, no destroyed city bits. Still, it seems prudent to check: "...Please tell me there wasn't a brawl."

"Good," Pat mutters, then turns his attention back to Peter.

"Do you really let him wander about while you sleep?" Peter looks a little incredulous.

"Not always. Usually it's when he's been behaving himself-or when I know it's the only way to get him to shut up," he adds with a sigh.

"Huh. That's what people say about me," Peter replies.

Then, he clears his throat, as he's not exactly sure how to go about this, "So, uh, I figured since we're likely to be stuck here a while and you're actually from my universe and everything, that we, uh, get to know one another. Well, I'll do most of the getting-to-know, I guess."

"If it helps, I don't know you that well, either-and I'm still trying to figure out the whole time or slightly different universe or whatever issue. There's some other people you might want to meet, too-they're from places that're close, too."

"I already ran into Hawkeye," and hadn't that gone down well? "Last time I checked he wasn't quite so top heavy."

Pat smiled a little-a slightly unnerving expression, given the teeth that were being used. "There's also...Vincent or Victor or some kind of V name. I talked to him a little before; sounded like he's met you, wherever he comes from."

Peter taps his chin, "Nope, those bells aren't ringing. Guess I'm gonna have to get used to this kind of thing."

He blows air, sounding like a deflating balloon, "Boy, what I would give for an Avenger right about now."

"You think they'd be able to figure out a way off this thing?"

"I'm not sure anyone would, but I'd be more inclined to fall into step if one of them were organizing this tea party."

"Well, we've...kind of avoided disaster so far. Kind of. The thing with the Yeerks was close. ...So was the thing with the roaches, actually." Pat paused. "On second thought, we're probably really lucky that there hasn't been more deaths."

"Kid, be quiet."

"Hey, I've seen less favourable odds. All this situation needs is a little positive thinking." He replies, although it's mostly face. Strange as it seems to him, he's a tutor now, he's not allowed to be a downer.

Oh Christ, who thought of him as a tutor was a good idea?! He was going to get them all killed, he could virtually picture it...

"Positive thinking...a better way to pick up on uninvited guests." Pat makes a face, the end result being that more tooth and gum are shown then normal as his tongue sticks out. "We didn't know about the Yeerks or the roaches until we got attacked. I'm hoping the patrols'll keep something like that from happening again."
