Contemplate the End of the World [Open]
Tony stared out into the swirling colors of the bleed, shoulders slumped. He felt off. The beast inside of him constantly bristling, ready to tear something apart, kill someone for the slightest insult - the one he'd learned to control. It still gnawed at him, roiled up when he didn't need or want it. It made him moody. He grumbled to himself and ran a hand through his hair.
"Stop feelin' sorry for yourself. Universe or whatever is counting on you."
Which only made him feel marginally better. Seventeen years old and a soldier in a losing war for the fate of the world was heavy responsibility on its own. Then a whole universe had been dumped on it. But he was Garou. He was a Bone Gnawer - and Bone Gnawers did or died. They preferred to do and live, of course, but when the chips were done they got the job done. He turned away from the swirling colors of the bleed and glanced over the rest of the lounge. Sorta quiet, kinda dead.
Hell, he needed something to do besides mope.

He draped an arm around her and gave Kate a tight hug. "It's still good to see you."

"Good to see you too. How are you?" She hugged him back, and drew a hand up to cradle his cheek.

"Just thinking too much for my own damn good."
no subject
"What about?"

"Then that's it... I mean, your world and your clan needs you, and my world and my teammates need me. Not like either of us could give one up. Even if we could."

Tony sighed and ran a hand through his hair, fidgeting in turn. This conversation was going to be awkward. Was awkward. Whatever. "...yeah. Not like I could."
This was going to get ugly. He shook his head. "...look, just forget I brought it up. We don't even know if we're gonna live through this even if we do win..."

"My world's not much better really. I mean, just the supervillians alone without getting into the alien invasions at times..."
Kate shuddered because she knew a few more acid attacks could have taken her out. She was only lucky to avoid a full out attack.
"Can't think like that. We're going to make it, one way or another. Tired of people thinking they're going to die."
She wiped a hand over her face, "Sorry, one of my friends was saying something similar."

He glanced away, brow furrowed in a frown.

"Please, not you too. We can't give up."
