Lonely Rolling Star~ [OPEN]
Anyone paying attention in the City today will notice a bizarre sight-- a small lump of garbage, roughly a foot and a half in diameter, rolling up and down the streets. It's mostly made out of bits of rubble, broken glass and garbage, the odd misplaced or discarded item, the occasional loose cobblestone that's been dragged up from the street. Several crew members innocently dropped something they were carrying and found it suddenly snatched by the trashy menace and on its way down the street.
Behind the ball of garbage, pushing it along, is a well-meaning but rather misguided little space person with a pad of paper and a magenta colored pencil strapped to him like a backpack. On the paper is written a message:
-----------------------------------
WE ARE SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE!
WE WILL HAVE YOUR PLANETS RESTORED SOON!
-----------------------------------
He looks hard at work, but he would be happy to stop and chat with his subjects.

-- but then noticed the strange... thing with the tongue staring at him. His head tilted as he regarded it curiously. How odd... he had seen more than a few umbrellas in his time, but they rarely came attached to sponges. Long, moving sponges. That were kind of gross.

She, too, stared at the ball of garbage, and then turned her attention to the small...person next to it. She knelt down to get a closer look. "Is this how the ship cleans herself? I thought she'd have something better than tiny people...that's surprising."

He reached back to the pad of paper on his back and pulled off the next sheet underneath the displayed message, which had been conveniently pre-written in various colors of colored pencil.
[GREETINGS AND HELLO!
WE ARE THE PRINCE OF ALL COSMOS, SON OF THE MAGNIFICENT KING OF ALL COSMOS AND THE BEAUTIFUL QUEEN OF ALL COSMOS. WE ARE SORRY FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF YOUR WORLDS AND WE WILL HAVE THEM PUT BACK TOGETHER IN NO TIME ONCE WE GATHER THINGS.
WE WILL DO OUR BEST FOR YOU!
~ THE PRINCE OF ALL COSMOS]

The umbrella prodded her with its tongue. "Right! Introductions! I'm Kogasa Tatara, and this is also me." She waved the umbrella, which smiled. "Nice to meet you, Prince!"

[OUR FATHER IS SOMETIMES VERY IMPULSIVE... IT WOULD NOT BE THE FIRST TIME THE COSMOS WERE DESTROYED AS A RESULT. :( ]
He paused.
[WHAT WERE YOU TOLD? WE ARE SURE FATHER DIDN'T MEAN IT...]

She grinned cockily then, and said in an authoritative tone, "Now get ready!" She made a silly face and the umbrella stuck its tongue out as far as it would go. "BOO!"

Well... he had heard a few things like that, but he assumed that they just meant the King of All Cosmos. Humans might indeed consider him an alien, if the word meant what the Prince thought it meant.
He was interrupted from these ponderings by the request to get ready-- and before he could do that, AAAH IT'S TRYING TO EAT HIM!- he was leaping six feet in the air in shock, falling back to the ground with a tiny THUD.
He lay face-down on the ground for a moment, then sloooowly picked his head up and peeked up at her.

"Hehe, sorry! Surprising people is my job! How surprising was I? Tell me honestly, I need to know what I did right!" Telling someone to get ready before surprising them was, of course, counterproductive, and a normally-sized person probably wouldn't have been fazed at all, but Kogasa was thoroughly convinced she had touched upon genius.

The umbrella almost licks the Prince as thanks, but then remembers his size and opts for a smile instead.

It was just a piece of paper, but the simple fact that it was a gift was more than enough for her.
"Hey, I just got an idea! You helped me with my job, so is there anything that I can help you out with?"
