A russet-furred dog was wondering around, doing what dogs do: sniffing things, bounding up to people and trying to play fetch, barking at anything that moves. Just your average, normal dog stuff. Mostly the dog hung around the city, but he also wondered around the corridors and the rest of the ship.
But actually? The dog wasn't really a dog. It was Marco, morphed into an Irish Setter. And, while Marco did find the idea of wondering around and bothering people in dog-morph highly amusing, that was not the only reason he was in this morph. No, the real reason was because as far as Iniss knew now, Jake had a dog. And it was very, very useful to be able to hang around in dog morph whenever they had to deal with Tom and the Yeerk. If Marco wanted to keep the act going? The dog couldn't just show up whenever Jake met with Tom. It'd have to look like there was a real dog that belonged to Jake hanging around. So, 'Cinnabon' needed to make some appearances.
The fact that Marco could have some fun at the same time was just a bonus.

Curled up in a rather comfy corner a little green cat snoozed lightly, only vaguely aware of his surroundings as he dreamed less then pleasant dreams that he'd rather not admit to in his waking hours.
no subject
...Okay. That was weird. But hey, it wouldn't be the first odd cat he'd seen. He'd already met one that talked, and not with thought-speak. But still - green? Green?!
Trotting over to it, he sniffed at his cautiously. It smelled like a normal cat, even if it sure as hell didn't look like one. But that didn't mean there couldn't be anything else odd about it. The smart thing to do would be to leave it be. But hey, Marco was being a dog, right? He should act like a dog. (Okay, and so he was a little curious. Just a little.)
So he leaped at the cat and started barking at it like a mad dog.

He turned to look down at the dog and hissed, Fine puppy wanted to play? He could play.
The cat shoved himself off the wall and a loud THUD! sounded behind Marco.
As he was now faced with a massive green Tiger.
The roar boomed and echoed down the hallway.

There was no way Marco's dog morph could deal with a tiger. He'd seen Jake fight in tiger morph enough times to know exactly what a tiger was capable of. A dog could never hope to compete.
He stayed dead still, his mind frantically trying to find ways to get the hell out of here. He'd never be able to demorph and morph again fast enough to be able to take the tiger on...could a dog outrun a tiger? Marco doubted it, but he might have to try...

It was like the beast was laughing at Marco's reaction.

Besides, learning how to use her new powers was pretty fun, she was going to have to go flying with Tailmon sometime...
no subject
...okay, what the hell was it with the freaky cats on this ship? Where they just everywhere? (Was is even an actual cat? It didn't smell like a normal cat...)
But, Marco had a job to do. And if he found out whatever the hell that thing was in the process? Even better. So he bounded over to the girl and barked at her once, wagging his tail.

Tailmon just sighed. "I hope this dog isn't stupid enough to try to chase me, I really don't want to have to deal with this ships 'no violence' orders right now."
no subject
Woah! Marco jumped, startled at the cat-thing talking. This one too? What, was this Rhiow's long lost and bizarre looking relative or something? He tilted his head, and looked at the cat with a typical "confused doggy" expression. Chasing the cat-thing could be fun, but it mentioned violence...picking a fight was not something Marco wanted to do.

Even if there had been real food though, Marco would have had to leave the food fight to another day. It hadn't taken long for him to spot Karen - Aftran - and this was a chance he couldn't pass up. He couldn't do anything like try to talk her over to their side, obviously, but he could try and see if he could find out any useful information. The more he could report back to Cassie, the better.
He trotted over to her, sat, and looked up at her with the puppy-dog eyes that dogs always got when they wanted food. (Sure, Marco didn't actually want the food, but he could definitely pretend.)

He wagged his tail at her, every image the 'happy dog', and whined at her food. Would Aftran give some of her food up? And if she did, would it be because she Karen wanted her to, of Aftran wanted to herself?

City
Her ears seemed to perk up as she heard a dog bark, and she immediately ran towards the noise. When she spotted the canine, the ever-present smile on her face widened as she approached it and crouched down.
"Hey there!"

Darting off, Marco grabbed a stick before bringing up back to the girl. Dropping the stick at her feet, he barked at her again.
no subject
"Go get it!" And she chucked it as hard as she could, and the stick sailed off several blocks away. She may not have the strength of an oni, but most youkai in general were much stronger than average humans.
And on that note, it was obvious Marco's not very observant, or else he would've noticed a somewhat familiar, softball-sized orb in place over the girl's heart. Hers was blue, didn't have nearly as many tendrils snaking out of it, and was open only the tiniest of cracks, but it still resembled Satori's Third Eye enough.
no subject
Still, Marco tore off after it. Okay, the girl had super-strength. Interesting. Now where the hell had that stick landed...aha!
Stick in possession, Marco ran back towards Koishi. And truth is, Marco was observant - but when you're a dog, sight is just less...important. Smell is everything, and since Marco had never smelled Satori while in morph before, he couldn't realised that this girl's scent was similar.
But as he trotted back, Marco actually looked at her properly, instead of focusing more on scent. And he started to get a bad, bad feeling. That orb was familiar...and hadn't Satori mentioned having a sister? Dammit. If this girl has Satori's powers, then by now it'd be too late. She'd have already read his mind, and would know he wasn't really a dog.
But she hadn't reacted like she knew he was human. She'd acted like she thought he was just a dog. Perhaps if he could test her...
Your hat's ugly. He thought, being careful to not use thought-speak but still think it clearly. And your throw sucked.

So he ran up to Kang and started running around his feet, barking.

Crouching down on his forelegs, Marco wagged his tail in the air - essentially, the universal dog sign-language for 'let's play!'

Still, the scent of an animal here in the City is something to be curious about. Having wandered up here in one of his many O&M practise runs, the blue anomaly's ears give a curious twitch. Okay, so sue him, he's never met a domesticated dog before!
no subject
But when he saw Renne, Marco paused and eyed it cautiously. Whatever Renne was, he was blue and small and Marco couldn't help but be reminded of the Helmacrons. Okay, so it was still too big and didn't look that much like the Helmacrons, but it'd be just his luck if it turned out that the Helmacrons in fact had some bigger and even more insane distant relatives, and this was one of them.
If it started waving about tiny lasers and demanding that he surrender, Marco was so outta here.
no subject
It's big ears flick forward and, being perhaps a little bit bolder than it usually might, the blue-thing sniff-crawls its way toward the canine's scent. Canine or lupine, it can't tell yet, so Renne hopes he's not on the menu. He's too stringy, tough and gamy anyway.
no subject
The fact that it reminds him of Helmacrons really doesn't help.
Maybe if he tries to scare the thing off. He barks at it, just once.
