Bitey Says Hello [closed]
Superboy has a dog now, one of the dogs rescued from Zokez. It is a happy dog, that is taken care of it and very much loved on by its new owner, who snuggles it in secret and pretends he's not a giant softy when he really is.
This dog's name is Bitey. Because...he's bitey.
Now that he's taken care of, he's a little less bitey than before, but he's still not necessarily a good dog. This is because Bitey likes to run away a lot, but only to explore.
Today, Bitey the blue alien dog is exploring the bar. There are lots of interesting smells! Oh, he must show his new boy this place. Surely he will find it equally interesting.
But first, he must sniff at the man here with the bald head, who smells very interesting and a little bit like his boy. Hello, bald man! You smell interesting! You smell a little bit like his boy! Where is your hair?
As Superboy is about to learn, curiosity and house pets don't usually mix well.

"When someone's done something to mess you up, you want to know why. What could make them that way. I know--I know you aren't him. But I wanted to know why he was--what made him that way. And I thought--" He shakes his head. "--I thought maybe you had common enough pasts that maybe I'd figure out--"
What made a monster.
"I wanted to figure out why he did what he did to me. It's easier to deal with stuff when there's reasons. Some sordid upbringing, some dark past, I don't know..."
Oddly, the tone of this conversation was getting more and more conversational and less riddled with fear.
"And what I found out was...nothing. As far as I can tell, you had, I don't know, some rich kid upbringing, your mom seemed nice, and I guess that just means you're different from him."
Just...not different enough.
"And I still don't have my reason."

He shakes his head.
"I know a little bit about his childhood though, and it took poking around to realize you weren't just a younger version or something. And since then, I've tried to stay out of your business, okay?"
Now give him his damn dog back.

"And I suggest you remain out of my business." Far easier for him to keep his agreement with the Major that way. "They say curiosity killed the cat. I'd imagine it could be quite harmful to a number of other creatures as well."
Lex released released Bitey, placing him gently down on the ground. "Now get out of here... and take the boy with you," he told the dog.

"What's that, Bitey? Why yes, he is spectacularly bald. I noticed it, too. Kinda hard not to--the glare, I know. I knooow. Hard on the eyes."
