Good People Don't End Up Here | Open!
Everything was starting to get back to.. well it wasn't like it was before on the ship. Not after all that fighting going on and everything. For one member of the crew, unbeknownst to him, he had missed the entire thing because of one happy little people snatching AI. Needless to say the pilot wasn't going to be very thrilled once that little bit of information surfaced. One of the walls shifted, opening in to a dark black space as the orange jump suited man was tossed like someone had him by the collar of his suit and down around his waist.
Head over heels the man flew with his hands grasping hair hoping to catch on to some one or some thing before he crashed against the opposite wall had against his side. It didn't help any that he had one nice shiner already developing on his face. More bruises and aches were something that Gavin did not want to deal with.
"Thank you for your participation,. -subject name here-, must be the pride of -subject hometown here-. A mark has been placed on your official testing record. There will be cake in the lobby." Groaning the man glanced up just in time to see the wall move close.
The cake was a lie.

Brushing his hands off against his flight suit, Gavin winced as he worked his shoulder a little. He was never going to ask for a sweet again if he ever got out of this one alive. "Where's the fire? Haven't seen you run that fast in a while."

Sithspit he wished he could greet him with better news.

Sadly, he wasn't getting any. Sighing Darklighter started to push himself up off the ground dusting flecks of whatever it was that was on him off clearly not liking the fact he'd missed two important things going on with the ship. "How bad was it?"
no subject
"It's nowhere near as bad as it could have been. Most of our people made it back alright. We had an X-Wing go down, but we can get it flying again. Didn't lose any pilots thankfully."
no subject
"Well that's good we didn't lose anyone. Just goes to show how good the training and command staff is." Which was the honest truth. Gavin could count on his hand the number of pilots that had been lost since they had moved out to take Coruscant. It wasn't many at all. "How bad is the 'wing?"
no subject
"The wing is alright. We really managed to pull together for this one. In fact we're having a debriefing tomorrow at 1230. A lot of new people for you to meet."
no subject
"Well I'm going to want to get my hands on vid feed of the battle and sim work if I can manage it." He'll leave the teasing for another day. Right now there were more important things to do than do the whole twenty-question bit. "Think I should show? It's not like I had any choice not to be involved."

"So. When do we need to start finding a ball with a chain on the end for you?"
no subject
"Not as soon as you'd like, but now that you bring it up I'll remember to suggest you for the flower girl."

Or Glados for the cake.

"Good to see you in one piece, Gavin."

Turning a wry grin towards Wedge the younger man offered him a hand. "Glad to be back, sir, though after hearing about the party you guys crashed I'm kinda hating I missed it. Oh? Also- the cake is a lie." Before Wedge could ask, though, Gav shook his head. "Better not to ask."

"We've got a lot of work to do, actually."

At Kyle's comment on him being a slacker, the younger of the trio scowled slightly. "I'll have you know I wasn't slacking off at all. I'm sure Glados would be more than willing to let you play lab rat for a while, Katarn, if you wanted too." Of course there was humor in the youths words. Gavin wouldn't wish that on anyone. Except maybe a few certain Bothans.

"Well I always was good at finding cheese," Kyle mused. "Though I've been told I'm a very uncooperative test subject. Usually ended hearing something like 'Please stop blowing open the prison doors and escaping Mr.Katarn. The Stormtroopers don't like it."
