Reflections [Open]

The Juraian Royal Palace, Sasami's home, was becoming less and less empty. The additions that she got from the planet before everything went south helped fill in the holes. The sounds of odd barking and meowing also liven things up - she had somehow brought one of the alien puppies she rescued and it had made fast friends with Ryo-Ohki.

However, despite what was going on, she wasn't feeling too bright. Despite what they had done, they still didn't win. It was just plain luck that allowed her to survive that day.

She looked around her home, trying to figure out something to do to pass the time away and get her mind off of what happened. Though, the more she thought, the more she realized something was missing, but couldn't put her finger on it...

"Am I forgetting something?" Sasami asked herself randomly. It felt odd, but it was like something was missing and she couldn't put her finger on it. She shook her head and continued on. Maybe she was acting silly. With that, Sasami continued on through her home, a slight limp in her step as she did.

Of course she had gotten into fighting during the shore leave: it was actually the best part of the vacation. Alessa, despite staying by herself, had enjoyed fighting, the barbarism of some of the humans and the logic used by some others. They were a curious bunch, and she had actually had enjoyed herself despite the pains.

However, for reasons she couldn't understand, her mind wandered to Sasami, wondering if that alien girl could protect herself. That thought in itself was strange to her, and despite not really getting it, she had found herself back where she'd met Sasami before, looking for her.

She DID notice the limp, and instead of skulking in the shadows as usual, she appeared directly in front of Sasami, looking a little dangerous. "How did THAT happen?"

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-07-02 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"A fight," Alessa repeated, doing her best to control the rage in her voice, she understood that overreacting in this situation no one was really wrong except the Ohm. It was their only main enemy, and she had found them to be formidable fighters. Strong, agile, dangerous.

"And did you have any sort of backup?" Alessa asked. "Would they not have tried to prevent your injury?"

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 03:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"You did everything on your own?" Impressive. She had never asked Sasami what her powers were, because she had seemed to make it clear she didn't know why she'd been brought to Stacy. WHY she did it was hardly surprising: Sasami was exactly the sort of person who would needlessly put her life on the line for animals. It was strange, but she understood the significance. The sentiment was...oddly endearing.

"You should be careful," Alessa said. "I would like to accompany you next time. I can heal my own injuries, but you cannot. I would prefer you not to have this limp again."

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-07-04 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Apologies are unnecessary, just think of these things next time," Alessa said. "I would prefer to keep my head in battle rather than think of what would happen to you. It is...new to someone like me."

She wouldn't lie: it was doubtful she even COULD.

"Negi. Who is this Negi-koon?"

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-07-04 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Your reaction of changing skin pigmentation indicates that Negi is someone you are especially fond of. In that case, I'm going to have to investigate him, see what he is like and what his intentions are. What powers does this Negi koon Springfield possess that allowed him to lend you some of his?"

Also, she wanted to know the nature of how they knew each other. If he meant any bad intentions toward Sasami, she would make sure this Negi lived in a world of nightmares.

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-07-04 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
"I am not unfamiliar with magic," Alessa said, "although, because we have trans versed several different dimensions, it would help for you to be a bit more specific on the kind of magic. But for him to know that, he is strong."

She watched the reactions of her friend decided for herself immediately that she had to see this JUST Negi Koon Springfield. She wanted to know how this bond worked, and if he lent his power to Sasami, exactly what he expected in return. Such strength was not usually given freely.

"Where can I find him?"

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-07-05 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Alessa stared at her friend. "If he is as nice as you say he is, its not likely I will do anything to him at all. There are many demons who act on their most base instincts, doing whatever they like. I don't resemble them. If I did, I would likely have been killed by the people on the ship. I still may be sought out anyway, since one of the command is a person from my world, and is convinced I am out to corrupt everyone."

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-07-05 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Alessa looked at Sasami as if she were seeing her for the first time. The girl had said something like this before, but she hadn't expected to hear her defending HER, a demon, over humans. If anything, she assumed their distrust of her would have made Sasami cautious about trusting Alessa.

"There are several people in Security, and defying them would be a violation of the stupid constitution they put out. Why would you get in trouble over me?"

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-07-05 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
Alessa regarded the girl calmly. "I am a demon, Sasami. We are not regarded as good things on the ship, and my presence is something she believed caused her death. While she is not completely wrong in this, she neglects to recall I was not the one that killed her, or even responsible for forcing the town to act like animals: they did that themselves. What worries people about me is that I am an entity of evil, it is what I was created for. I understand their concerns, but I am also just as aware that their feelings toward me has a base in evil too. In the end, humans are humans, acting as they see fit to justify their fears and anxieties."

She smiled. "But don't underestimate me either, Sasami. I am a very strong demon, and I have already made my home in the City. They would not do anything to me without a fight."

She thought a moment. "May I see the artifact that gave you your power?"

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-07-05 12:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Alessa examined the card. It had Sasami on it of course in some kind of pose, obviously in a stronger form. This was the power of that Negi boy, she was sure of it. No, she definitely did not think that he meant anything bad for her, but that didn't mean she shouldn't check this out nonetheless. It was a little irritating to have to go out of her way, but as long as she was doing so she may as well get the full story.

"So in essence, the pactio acts as a power boost to the both of you," Alessa said. "How fortuitous. I meant to ask you: what powers did you have before this time?"

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-07-05 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"Then at least I know you're being prepared," Alessa replied. But at the mention of a pet, Alessa looked intrigued. "I wasn't aware that the ship allowed us to have pets. What sort is Chamo?"

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-07-05 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"A...ferret that talks and smokes." Negi was more and more sounding like the weirdest human gifted with magic that she'd ever heard.

"I suppose I'll ask Negi when I see him then," Alessa said, "And you..are you all right?"

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-07-06 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"Better for you," Alessa said. Good. Now, at least, she didn't have to worry: not just yet anyway.

The hug thing. Well, with Sasami it felt a little less intrusive, and she HAD been worrying about her well being after all. She returned the hug, albeit gingerly. She wasn't aware of her strength against this girls,' after all.

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-07-06 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Sasami wasn't the only one surprised at Alessa's reaction: she barely understood it herself. She stared at Sasami a moment, think of what she could say to her.

"I know that," she said. "I chose to because I wanted to. Wouldn't your Negi worry for the same reason?"

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-07-06 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"You are welcome," Alessa said. "Just make sure you don't push yourself unnecessarily."

She wrinkled her nose. "Like what?"

Oh...that sort of thing. Nanoha had done the same thing once, and despite not really feeling any sort of gluttony for food at all, she could still eat it. She understood that the gesture itself was an act that friendship, and so she relented.

"I suppose I could have some water and...well, what did you have to eat?"
