Kidlet L'amore and Hair Danglies

Negi was at the Takamachi's door as he flew over quickly, Chamo riding on his shoulder. Through a clothing mishap however, the kid was wearing a girls shirt and shorts. Chamo laughed at him when he tried to hide his embarrassment with a very familiar looking red haired wig.

"This isn't funny Chamo-kun," said Negi as he got off his staff.

"Aniki, you're going to go talk about girls with your best friend on this ship. I think she can laugh at you if you're wearing half of the mini-skirted fox girl outfit that I just HAD to get for you." said Chamo.

Negi rolled his eyes. And rang the doorbell, shifting from foot to foot, hoping Vivio would answer before her moms came home and laughed at him or something.

Thankfully for Negi, Vivio was the first to answer the door.

"Negi-kun, hi--" Vivio began to say before she saw what Negi was dressed in. She tried to hold in her laughter as she did.

"...wrong clothes?"

"Yeah," said Negi, blushing. "Somehow a set of girls clothing and a wig got into my stuff. It's kind of like what I've worn before so it's not bad..."

"Hey hey neechan, glad t'see ya!" cheered Chamo from his shoulder. "Sacred Heart, gimme some paw!" And he held out his paw in greeting.

"I brought cookies from the bus," added Negi, flushing to avoid embarrassment. "There a place we can talk without your moms interrupting us?"

Vivio finally let out a giggle as Negi explained himself. "That's okay, though!" she said, waving it off as Sacred Heart hovered down and high-fived Chamo.

"But, we can go into my room if that's okay...!" She opened the door with her free arm.

"Sure I'm fine with that." said Negi, rubbing his head. It wasn't like he actually didn't LIVE with girls on a regular basis at any rate.

He stepped in and smiled. "It's a nice room! I like it!"

Vivio giggled as Negi stepped inside. "Thanks! It's nice to have a room of my own... though, it seems that every time I turn around, I'm back with my parents!" she said, chuckling nervously.

"Go ahead, make yourselves at home!" A smile formed on her face as she let Negi sit down. "So... who's the girl?"

POIK. "H-how did you know it was a girl?" stammered Negi, sitting down on the bed reflexively. "I didn't say anything!"

"Oh c'mon Aniki, it's written all over your face," said Chamo with a grin. "isn't that right Sacred Heart?"

Vivio laughed as she caught Negi's surprised look. Sacred Heart nodded with Chamo's comment.

"Oh, c'mon... I saw you with all those others in the medbay!" Vivio said. Yeah, she saw you with Nanashi. And Katara. And Sasami. "So... who is it?"

Negi blushed as he ducked his head. "Sasami," he said with considerable amounts of mortification. "I've never felt so protective of someone, even as a teacher."

He twiddled his thumbs a little and added, "It's... warm," he decided. "I can just be myself around her, not a teacher to a student. I know I promised to give Nodoka-san an answer when she graduated but... right now it seems unlikely. Am I just being a kid or something?"

Sasami? Sasami... Vivio thought a bit as to who he was talking about. Then she remembered - the overly-cheerful blue-haired girl.

"Oh, okay!" Vivio said, finally understanding who he was talking about. "But, you're just being yourself. Things change. People change... who knows? Maybe you'll find Nodoka and still have something...!"

If Negi could go redder, he did, playing with the long locks of hair that dangled from his head. "Oh brilliant," he moaned. "The last thing I need is more girls liking me like that. But yeah, I know what you're saying."

"I um, made a pact with her. To protect her and well, here." And he fished into his pocket and pulled out a card with her image on it. "It's a magical item, designed to protect her."

"I'm just glad it helped."

Vivio looked at the card Negi produced. "Oh, wow... that's awesome! Kinda like with me and Sacred Heart...!"

She noticed Negi messing with his long hair and an idea came to her as she walked behind Negi. "I'm glad it helped her, too... though, I'm kinda surprised she was out there. I don't want to sound bad about it, but she doesn't look like someone who'd fight."

"She surprised me too... but she told me she helped rescue puppies and that's so Sasami," laughed Negi. "I think that's why I like her. It's because she's gentle like that."

What is with this good vibe? thought Chamo as he dolled out cards to play Go Fish with Sacred Heart. It's like Aniki with Kotaro or Anya...

Vivio giggled a bit. "The way it sounds, she does sound like quite the gentle person! Probably wouldn't be surprised if she was always like this...!"

As Chamo dolled out the cards, Sacred Heart picked them and looked at them, setting a pair down.

"Definitely feels like it," said Negi. "She's working really hard at restoring her home too for us kids to use as a base. It's that really big tree-palace over on the west side."

He grinned slightly. "Are you braiding my hair?"

Chamo set down a card to match and frowned. "Any threes?"

"...that tree is actually a home?" Vivio said. "I didn't know that! Wow, that's so cool!"

She stopped braiding, surprised then let out a giggle. "Uh-huh! Hope you don't mind?"

Sacred Heart leaned over from his cards and shook his head, then as Chamo went to get a card, he held up a sign with the number 2 on it.

"Yeah it really is! It's so nice too!" And he grinned. "No, go on. Oneechan used to do this to me all the time. And Anya too. I'm used to having hair braided."

"Want me to do your hair afterward?"

Chamo handed over a two to Sacred Heart. Huh, he learned the sign trick. Neat.

Vivio giggled a bit as Negi suggested doing the same to her hair. "Sure! I wouldn't mind that at all!" she said as she continued on.

Sacred Heart took his card and put it and his card on the table. Another sign when up with a 6 on it.

Negi chuckled. "You know, this is more relaxing than the shore leave come to think about it. Even down there it seemed almost frantic at best. But I did manage to get a lot of stuff I would have needed for later, including some books too."

"Go fish," said Chamo as he looked over his stuff. "Any nines?"
