Pod-Pop

||Pod Release Protocols Initating|| Stacy's familiar voice sounded out to all the podmates.

In the Pod Caverns, there were the sounds of: Pop. Pop pop pop. Poppuhpoppoppop. KASCHUNKhiiiiiiiissssss.

There was condensation and mist spraying out from cracks in the pods, as the people inside slid out onto the floors, covered in slime.

Pop. Poppop. KASCHUNKhiiiiiissss.

Elle jerked back in surprise. Yikes. While every instinct in her head was screaming Electrocute that thing, kill it!, Elle wasn't sure if she wanted to find out what else could come out of those walls. The "mild sedative" was freakish enough.

"Positive," she spat, eyeing the needle warily as the electric ball in her hand sizzled out. Whoever her warden was, they were running a tight ship.

Shooting the needle one last glare, Elle decided to try investigating the podcaverns. She didn't really feel like talking to the voice anymore.

Elle was going nowhere. She just kept getting lost between rows of pods... The gooey unconscious people reminded her of corpses - it was pretty unsettling, seeing so many of them suspended in motion like that.

"I'm looking for a way out," she grumbled. "Where's the door in this stupid thing?"

She frowned. "I don't know! I just want to get out!"

"Then why did you even ask?!" She made a face.

Elle was prepared to ignore the voice again, but- "...Wait, ship?"

This was getting stranger and stranger by the second. Feeling a little dizzy, Elle was didn't speak for a minute or two, trying to digest all of this.

"So... Where are you taking me?"

[identity profile] electricityjolt.livejournal.com 2009-04-22 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
...

"Huh."

That didn't tell her much... Or, really, anything at all. Elle resumed wandering through the podcaverns, thinking.

"Uh... Yeah?"

She crossed her arms, annoyed. "Don't you think you should've helped me with that a little earlier?" Creepy intercom.

"You're not very helpful, you know..."

She gestured at the monotonous expanse of pods. "I didn't know where to find any!"

Oh. Well. That certainly made things easier.

"Thanks," Elle muttered grudgingly, still incredibly distrustful of the entire situation, but not particularly wanting to hang around this place much longer.

She could've told me about THAT earlier, too.

"Ooookayyy..."

She followed the voice's instructions, looking around the room suspiciously. Weird. They weren't going to try and probe her or something, right? Elle was really starting to consider the idea that she'd been abducted by aliens.

[identity profile] electricityjolt.livejournal.com 2009-04-22 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
"W-Whoa!" Jarring, much?

She tugged on the green fabric-...-like substance. "What's this thing made of?"

[identity profile] electricityjolt.livejournal.com 2009-04-22 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
"...Right."

Again, the voice was pretty useless. What a pain. Elle continued out the chamber, examining the suit material on her arm.
