"OW! That so totally hurts!" -- Charles Xavier

The battle against the Ohm raged on, and the casualties on the ground were mounting. Injured crew members got emergency treatment in the field, which largely amounted to patching them up so they wouldn't die sometime within the next fifteen minutes. After that, they were quickly picked up by shuttle and brought back to the ship, where they were sent to a medbay that was getting progressively more crowded.

The situation was growing increasingly dire, to the point that Stacy activated one of the AI's to help out.

"Please state the nature of the medical emergency."

The Doctor shouldn't get too used to it. Jamie does get into moods where he will ask lots and lots of questions to assuage his curiosity. However, when his head is throbbing like it is currently, he does tend to focus on that more than other things. Go figure.

In fact, he only barely even registers the movement of the handkerchief-wrapped hand as it slips in and out of the pocket. He rubs at his temple while nodding in agreement, trying to ignore the fact it only increases the sensation of pounding in his skull. Cards may not be the best thing at the moment, but he's hoping it'll prove enough of a distraction that he'll forget about his headache. "Aye, Crazy Eights. That sounds fine."

Jamie peers over at the pack of cards then, squinting slightly as he slowly reads out the name on the box. "World's...Greatest...Inventors," he says, then makes a small, disparaging noise. "Ye can't ever have just a normal pack of cards, can ye, Doctor? At least these ones aren't that optical illusion deck ye had the one time. I don't think my head could take that right now."
