The battle against the Ohm raged on, and the casualties on the ground were mounting. Injured crew members got emergency treatment in the field, which largely amounted to patching them up so they wouldn't die sometime within the next fifteen minutes. After that, they were quickly picked up by shuttle and brought back to the ship, where they were sent to a medbay that was getting progressively more crowded.

The situation was growing increasingly dire, to the point that Stacy activated one of the AI's to help out.



"Please state the nature of the medical emergency."

"If we weren't all cussers, my Legion would probably be thought too squeaky-clean to be real," Jeka retorted, ignoring Nura's glare and shifting to let the EMH get a better look at her shoulder.

Not being quite as familiar with shoulders as someone who had grown up with a set of her own, Jeka didn't recognize the symptoms of a dislocated shoulder when she had one, but it would be fairly obvious to anyone else.

"I think Ultra Boy would be proof of that tidbit," Nura says wryly, wincing when she lowers her hand to rest on her injured leg.

"Well, my medbay needs to be squeaky clean, language included." For someone as cantankerous as the doctor, you'd think a few swears wouldn't bother him, but he was programmed with some semblance of bedside manner.

Using a hypospray loaded with a local anesthetic, he mostly numbed her shoulder. That should make the next part easier. "You appear to have an anterior dislocation of your shoulder and some minor damage to your rotator cuff. Hold still while I reset the joint.

"I warn you, though, this will likely further inflame your potty mouth, so try to relax as much as you can before we begin."

"I'll grant you Ultra Boy and a few of the others as exceptions," Jeka said. "But in general, we have a rep for being good kids with filthy mouths."

She groaned a little at the medical hologram's warning, but took a deep breath and presented him with her shoulder. "I'll try to control my tongue."

He nodded, and took hold of her arm. He tried to make this as painless as possible, but it still involved twisting and turning a joint that really didn't want to be moved right now.

Still, it was only a few seconds for him to pop the shoulder back into place, which likely felt like an eternity to her.

Jeka grabbed the vaguely meat-like "pillow" off of the bed she'd dropped Nura on and pressed it against her face with her free hand. When the medical hologram had finished, she pulled it away, revealing that she'd bitten a hole clean through it.

"Aaah. Ohhh. Ooh," she panted. "Ow. That clean-mouthed enough for you, doctor?"

Nura takes the bitten pillow thing from Jeka and holds it up to eye-level; she can see Jeka through the hole at the center. "Oh, yes. This is definitely something I can lay my head upon, now. How sharp are those canines of yours?" Probably not as sharp as Timber Wolf's, judging by the size of the hole.

"That's better, yes," he told her, setting her arm in a sling. "Now keep your arm immobilized for the next few days, and it should heal just fine."

"Not as sharp as they used to be, but my jaw-strength is far more than human," Jeka replied, picking shreds out from between her teeth. She inspected the sling and looked back up at the EMH with a perplexed look. That seemed a little...long. "Can I go back out there and keep fighting if I don't use my arm? I can stick to mentalism at a distance."

Nura puts up a smug smile and cocks her head to the side. "Oh~, I don't think she should, doctor sir. After all, if the healing process of an anterior dislocation isn't handled correctly, couldn't any strenuous activity raise a higher risk of the shoulder dislocating?"

Notice the dulcet tones of biiiiiiiitch. Nura aims to get back at Jeka for carrying her off like a little girl in front of the entire battlefield.
