The battle against the Ohm raged on, and the casualties on the ground were mounting. Injured crew members got emergency treatment in the field, which largely amounted to patching them up so they wouldn't die sometime within the next fifteen minutes. After that, they were quickly picked up by shuttle and brought back to the ship, where they were sent to a medbay that was getting progressively more crowded.

The situation was growing increasingly dire, to the point that Stacy activated one of the AI's to help out.



"Please state the nature of the medical emergency."

"Hurt... wh-what happened? Vivio muttered, still groggy. For the life of her, she couldn't remember much about the fight, except that she was in it and she got hurt.

Matt bit his lip as he looked over at Sacred Heart briefly. "You were... injured. From what I can tell, you took a nasty blow to your shoulder area. I've patched you up best as I can and I've been looking after you since I teletransported us to the ship."

And what a taxing job that was, nearly falling over from the effort when he reappeared on Stacy. And to think at full he could fold and teletransport between entire WORLDS.

If Vivio's eyes could go wide, they would. She got hurt? That bad?

"...if I did... why... why can't I remember it? I... I remember an Ohm coming at me... I dodged it, then... I..." Vivio muttered.

She couldn't remember anything else, as much as she could try.

"Post-traumatic Stress," said Matt soothingly. "It's happened to me before. You get hurt so badly you blank out the memory of it. The next thing you remember is waking up on a bed somewhere."

He bit his lip. "The memories may come back in time, but at the same time, don't force it. The more you do, the more your stress level goes up and it's bad for healing."

"But..." and he smiled, "You did wonderfully. Your mothers would be so proud of you fighting with courage. And they will be, once they return safe and sound. But right now my concern is you. Do you need something to drink?"

Vivio let out a pained sigh as she nodded. She was thirsty at the moment. As well, she was worried about her family. Was Nanoha alright? Was Fate? What about Signum, Subaru and Reinforce?

They had to be okay at the moment.

Matt filled a cup of water from the bottles he had carried to the medbay and suck a straw into the top. "Here, I'll help you sit up a little."

And he slid an arm under Vivio's back and said, "Kay, just gently slide up a little. I'm not too sure where the auto-adjust are on these beds."

Vivio tried to move herself up the best she could, trying to get comfortable as she reached over to the bottle Matt had.

"...thank you, Matt..." Vivio muttered, taking a small sip. For her condition, it was VERY refreshing.

Matt smiled at Vivio as he supported her as she sipped. "Not too much, just enough. Your body might be a little numb from the healing. I repaired all of your damage but it'll take time for you to regain full motion."

"I'll try to send a message to your moms so they can come straight to medical when the fighting is over." added Matt. "You gave them quite a scare."

Gave me quite a scare too... thought Matt to himself, unintentionally projecting telepathically as well. Almost thought I lost my little sister.

Vivio turned to Matt as she picked up Matt's accidental telepathic message. Did she hear right? Was what happened that bad?

I'm sorry, Matt... Vivio replied, telepathically. I'll be careful next time. I promise.

Matt jerked in surprise, looking at Vivio before blushing. Awkward... I didn't mean to let that get out... especially the part about me considering you as a little sister I never had... darn my lack of an internal monologue censor...

He smiled. But it's so busy right now, we could talk like this for a while. Easier than raising our voices. Right?

Vivio smiled a bit at Matt, trying not to laugh at the awkwardness.

It's alright, Matt. I understand. Vivio replied. We do need some sort of bonds here, especially after what we went through. So... I don't mind it.

She let out a brief chuckle before she continued. But, I wouldn't mind talking like this. Would be easier.

Now if only the rest of the ship could have this kind of optimism... mused Matt before he terminated that line of thought.

Great. And if you need to, go ahead and lean on me. God knows I've supported larger people.

He held out a hand for Sacred Heart to land on, so that the plushie could be part of the conversation. Vivio... I was thinking about this for a while and I got to thinking. I've trained you how to fight, but I think it's time I trained you how to do something that I've been keeping to myself. It's called teletransporting. It's how I got us back up to Stacy without even using a shuttle.

Sacred Heart gladly took Matt's offer and sat down in his hand, glad to have a bit of rest.

Teletransporting? Sounds a little tough, though, especially with what you've done... for all of us... Vivio replied. A bit of her was curious, though, on seeing if she could do so.

It's draining I admit, said Matt. But it's worth it. It does take considerable effort, but it's a safe method of transportation. You can take up to three passengers too, provided you have the magic for it since it spends MP like crazy.

With that, Sacred Heart hovered off and moved over to where Vivio was.

Propping Vivio up so she could watch, he stepped away and added Don't blink. Here I go!

The sound was like a loud energy hum as he dissolved into a squiggly line and reappeared on the other side of the bed. TA-DAH! and Matt bowed. Teletransporting. Loud, but effective. Just visualize where you want to go and zoomp.
