The battle against the Ohm raged on, and the casualties on the ground were mounting. Injured crew members got emergency treatment in the field, which largely amounted to patching them up so they wouldn't die sometime within the next fifteen minutes. After that, they were quickly picked up by shuttle and brought back to the ship, where they were sent to a medbay that was getting progressively more crowded.

The situation was growing increasingly dire, to the point that Stacy activated one of the AI's to help out.



"Please state the nature of the medical emergency."

"I leave the decision entirely in your hands," Vader said, taking long, purposeful strides until he was directly before Kyle (and invading his space), "I relish a distraction."

Kyle stood up, and stared right into Vader's eyes. Kriffing Sith was playing with him, and he was walking right into it. Well he could hit below the belt too. "Go now, and I won't mention to Luke what you've done. He's rather fond of Arha too. I think he might take a bit of an issue with it, and if he doesn't I'm sure Mara will."

What Kyle would pay to have her here to back him up right now. She knew how to get under his skin.

"Jade would do well to remember her place," Vader growled, nastily, but he knew Kyle had his number. With Luke's precious and fragile trust hanging in the balance, he could not afford to make a misstep.

"I will return later," he called, over his shoulder. "To see if her condition has not...deteriorated."

Her place? Did he mean the one where she sat around, and mocked him all day long? Kyle was pretty sure she never forgot that. In fact it was one of his favorite things about her. It was why they got along so well. "You do that, and bring flowers. I think she'd appreciate it."
